The update is much appreciated. I use this almost daily. To sleep and to read. I wish the developer would update the app to use Lock Screen controls etc. whenever notifications come through this stops playing and doesn’t resume. I've recently picked up an IKEA Symfonisk speaker and would love to pipe sound to it (I know the intended use is to use with headphones). For some reason, using the system-level AirPlay functions don't work, unlike most other sound-producing apps (still goes through the phone speakers). But I can’t use it because it doesn’t allow airplay for some reason, so it’s useless to me now. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t allow this because they talk about how immersive it is and even have something for wind and lightning, but no surround sound audio I guess. ### 2/5 — Hate thunder *2022-09-30, version 10.2.2* So I wish there were some rain without the annoying thunder all the time. Lou Gehrig’s Disease and this is one of my “go to” apps for any time I need to get grounded and relaxed and I would like to thank the people that created this app! ### 2/5 — HEADPHONES ONLY!!! Doesn’t allow Bluetooth or Airplay through real audio equipment. *2020-02-04, version 10.0.1* Headphones-only?!? How can any pair of headphones supposedly immerse you in thunder? You can’t feel thunder through headphones. This app does not let you play the audio through a full-blown audio system using Bluetooth or Airplay. Yet, it will fully rub your face in what you’re missing by playing the thunder through the microscopic speakers built-into the iPhone XS Max. What’s crazy is the fact that you can tell the audio recording is very high-quality, yet you only get to hear an energetically-neutered version of it through the pathetic internal phone speakers or the almost equally severe physical limitations of headphones. Even the best headphones won’t shake my house playing recorded thunder, no matter how good the recording is. The compression wave impact of thunder is completely absent if you’re listening through headphones. For others like me who prefer to immerse our entire body in high end sound, look elsewhere. This app isn’t for us. Hopefully this warning will save others from wasting their time and a couple bucks. The first sentence of the description really should really point out the headphones-only limitation of this app. Very disappointed but gave the app an extra star for the apparent quantity of the recording. ### 2/5 — Annoyed *2019-10-23, version 10.0.1* A few years ago I had this app and was really impressed. No new content in quite a while and the last couple updates consisted of a bug fix for a problem I never experienced, an app logo change, and a temporary fix for purchase restorations... that was 2 years ago. If you like new content or even just quality updates, look elsewhere. App is dead **Developer response:** It appears that Apple has solved the problem. My husband and I would play it almost every night to fall asleep to, and we recommended it to EVERYONE. I miss being able to use it so much. You see, when the app changed about 2 years ago, the developer failed to update it so it could still be played over Bluetooth or airplay...and we haven’t used it since. Its extremely sad that something was created that has helped a lot of people (according to the reviews) and it seems like now that the developer has our money, they aren't bothering to keep it updated. ### 3/5 — New Update Removes Speaker Support *2019-11-12, version 10.0.1* The sound quality on this app is amazing. However, the developer is too draconian in how you are to listen. I was able to go to sleep each night with the app playing through Airplay. Then, AirPlay support was removed. I still played it through iPad speakers . Then, speaker support was removed as well. I can’t fall asleep with headphones in my ears. Please add speaker support back. ### 3/5 — Automatic level control *2019-05-30, version 10.0.1* I like the sound of the rain but when there is thunder the rain sounds disappear. I assume it is some form of automatic level that has been applied to the recording. With the rain sounds fading in and out it sounds unnatural to me. This happens on both the recordings that are available without payment. I’m using an iPad Pro. Otherwise I’d have liked the app. **Developer response:** Actually the rain really was that dynamic, getting stronger and weaker as the wind swirled it around. It might be that some part of iOS or some other audio hardware is kind of “ducking” the volume when it gets louder due to the thunder. 🌺 ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Realistic ThunderStorm Recordings. *2023-01-02, version 10.2.2* 'ThunderSpace' has the most realistic Thunderstorm sounds out of All the relaxation apps that I’ve downloaded. I really like all of the different Thunderstorm options that I can listen & relax to on this app. I can be transported to the sounds of Thunderstorms: at the ocean shore, in a barn, in the wetlands, in a car on a road trip, etc. My favorite Thunderstorm to listen and relax to… is the deserts of Africa. I use this while working and find it helps me focus and ignore the noise around me The stereo storm sounds pull me into the storms. Simply better than other storm-sound apps. Its really hard to hear the looping as the tracks seem long enough. This makes it far more enjoyable and real. I know easy to spot looping is a problem for with other rain apps. The purchased sound additions are worth the money as they sound AMAZING!
