### 2/5 — Verification

*2024-05-07*

I created an account, the camera wouldn’t register my face(with natural light), done it manually.. still no verification and it’s been over 24hrs. Made another account.. same thing.

### 2/5 — Photo

*2024-05-01*

Installed APP but it won’t upload my photo .
Tried everything.

### 2/5 — Glitchy

*2024-03-03*

Super glitchy? Can’t make a profile because a photo won’t upload no matter how many times I try.

### 2/5 — Terrible communication

*2024-01-05*

The app and the people in charge of the company are not giving accurate information to people that sign up to the site. You pay $60 for the premium membership to have maybe 5 to 8 people show up most of them leave after one hour and most of the matches are over 80 miles away from the actual place when you filtered down and the app is only open on Thursdays which is a good metaphor but doesn’t help when you’re trying to find people to go on live dates. i’m gonna try maybe one or two more times but after that I’m canceling my membership. Definitely not worth the money or the time.

### 1/5 — Fake profiles

*2023-12-29*

I literally made the app today and started speaking to someone I thought was verified and added them on instagram just to find out his profile was fake and when he accepted my follow request on Instagram it was some random escort page !

Thank god I don’t give away my number or contact details that easily !

### 2/5 — Another failed dating app

*2023-12-21*

User experience of the app itself is pretty crap. Almost no users despite it being a big city. Don't waste your time!

### 1/5 — 1 person shows up in area where over 1 million people live

*2023-12-21*

1 person shows up in area where over 1 million people live. I think many of us are disappointed with dating apps as they get more and more expensive and the results dwindle. There are few people on this so it’s bot worth the $20 a month or the time. Many of is are shifting to activity groups. You can learn more about someone playing an hour of ping pong than you can in months of texting. RIP dating apps.

### 1/5 — It’s a dating app

*2023-12-13*

Pear told me they no longer use Meetup. This is better? I thought pears mission was to remove dating apps.
Oh so someone has already liked them? So that means I can’t even chat to them? What a terrible concept
Also, only being able to use the app defeats the whole point of dating apps

### 4/5 — Love the idea, but better execution needed

*2023-12-01*

Giving this a high rating only because the idea is excellent and I’d love to see improvements, which only comes with it becoming more popular. I will maybe try going to another event again simply because I want to support the idea. However, the execution of this needs to be thought out better. The bar that was chosen for Indianapolis was a sitting-only bar. You walk in and immediately need to find a table to sit at. No one was standing, and there were no bar seats available. What’s the point? I don’t know anyone there and nobody knows me. Approaching a table is not casual at all. Choose standing bars only!!! Otherwise it’s just awkward. Also the prompts were horrible and even though there were 30+ people from the app crammed into this tiny bar, I didn’t see a single person follow any of the prompts. Love the idea of prompts, and the “cheers at this time” was a good one, but the other ones either weren’t applicable or were way too dramatic for anyone to start it (like spontaneously singing Happy Birthday). Great in theory, but execution… it’s like no one who made this app thought about how it would be when you actually show up.

### 2/5 — The dating app setup format put me off

*2023-02-25*

I was hoping this would be similar to MeetUp, set it up, see what’s available, book and go. But once I downloaded, I had to set up a profile. Most of it can be skipped, which I didn’t. But before you can get to see events, adding a profile photo and three additional photos is mandatory, as well as verification. The verification I can understand, and good for security. And I can understand having a profile photo even. But being forced to put four photos is too much for me, especially as they’re targeting people who aren’t into dating apps. It doesn’t even explain why you’re being forced to put four photos on your profile and who will be viewing them. I just want to sign up, go to fun events and meet nice people, zero pressure to preform on an app beforehand. If only the profile picture was mandatory and the other three were optional, I would had completed signup. Instead I deleted the profile. I’ll stick to MeetUp.

### 3/5 — Phone issues

*2022-12-20*

This app is different to the other apps I’ve tried but mostly I found I get the same usual nonsense as other dating apps. I love the concept you can only use it in a thursday which is brilliant as online dating is toxic I’ve found so it’s a relief to not able constantly swiping each day and getting nothing back. But I’ve found I still get ghosted lots by people who are obviously not serious about genuinely finding someone. Its the same old story they build a profile with five pictures and say they want this and that but really they have no idea what they are looking for it seems. Also for the past two weeks the app doesn’t work on my phone all of a sudden. I go to turn it on but it doesn’t go anywhere it just keeps not opening which is strange and annoying at the same time. It used to work before with no problems and it does work in my phone so I would like that resolved please.
Overall I’m a fan of the app as it’s not used every day which is a bit more calmer and less stressful for me and probably a lot of other people too.
The technical issues have to be fixed straight away though and I also would ask if you can vet people properly as too many people on here and other dating apps are just here to waste others time and it’s really not fair or correct as there are many genuine people really looking to meet someone and hopefully build something serious with.

### 3/5 — Love the app - needs smth for younger users

*2022-12-01, version 1.12.0*

Love the events and social round london but as a 19yr old would be nice to have events tailored more for my age group as opposed to only 25+ events being available
Me and my friends like going to the bars and events but a lot of people are a lot older - an occasional like 25 under or something event would be great

### 3/5 — Good for in person dating on Thursday!

*2022-11-06*

This is….Like no other dating app, it has a dual purpose. One you can check the profiles and message them directly via the app and the message has 24 hr disappear status or subscribe for a pay per event for an in person speed dating. Be it at a swanky bar, at a sweaty gym session, run in the park, whatever your fancy it’s all there on a Thursday. After being on the app for a few months, It’s been a mixed experience with the events, some good and some not so good. Some venues that the events team have chosen, turn out to be mediocre and some top notch high class, boat parties…anyone. As it goes, it’s definitely a try for a one day dating day, instead of you to keep swiping left or right and never get to a point of meeting someone.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! But... please dont say the word speed dat-🤢-ing x

### 4/5 — Pizza Pilgrims

*2022-10-06*

Loved the event

### 4/5 — Good in nyc

*2022-09-29, version 1.10.1*

I live in NYC, so there are a lot of people on it which is great. Fun concept. Only downside is the nyc IRL events are terrible. I wish they would put more effort into them. The pictures of the ones in London look fun…you should do that here too

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Boring

*2024-08-29*

It’s quite a boring app, there’s not many people on there & seen one person I’m attracted to in the two Thursdays I’ve been on it. The part I find absolutely useless is you have a daily cap, but you can only use it for one day a week. What is the point to that?? Gotta skip through the ones you don’t want to find the ones you do but then you run out of options, most of the time if you set to closer distance you run out of people anyway after like 10, I change the distance further & people in the surrounding area creep up with people way further out so I’ve come to the conclusion that the distance function is useless. Was a good concept but poorly executed, I’m bored & it’s not worth it to find one person every two weeks

### 1/5 — Do not waste your time or money

*2024-07-21*

I wasn’t gonna leave a review but since they wanna delete IG comments with any type of critique, here it is. I decided to go to their first event in SF this past Thursday 7/18, which was held at the Persona. For one, on their instagram they stated they sold 300+ tickets to this event… you can easily google the Persona’s capacity and see it is 125. To say we were packed in like sardines would be an understatement. This event was so chaotic, unorganized and loud, you literally couldn’t hear anything but 300 people all talking at once. Just plain greedy and unsafe to oversell this venue by that many people. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to have a good time let alone meet anybody new when you can barely move or hear anything. You’d be better off going to some random bar and meeting someone than at a Thursday event. If they planned to sell this many tickets they should have booked a venue that could hold that many people. I wouldn’t waste my money on this again.

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2024-05-30*

Feel sorry for people who paid for premium, the ads never seem to go away! No instructions on how the app works and left guessing the whole time. Then it tells you “you’re closing to reaching your daily limit” what daily limit!?? And for what?!??
Unimpressed

### 1/5 — Cant delete account

*2024-05-09*

The app does not have a feature to delete your account and data. It’s illegal for them to keep it if I dont want to.

### 1/5 — Can’t login

*2024-05-02*

Every time I go to log in, it sends a security code to my email, however the moment I leave the app to open the email containing the security code, it takes you back to the log in screen and the code won’t work. You have to get a new code and in order to get that, you have to leave the app but it refreshes…it’s a never ending circle and you can’t actually ever log back in. Not sure who designed this but it’s completely unusable.

### 1/5 — Cool idea, poor execution

*2024-04-26*

The fact that this app is only functional one day a week completely kills any traction it could’ve gained. As much as i wanted to use it at first, it just couldn’t happen because worked both Thursdays and Fridays. Now it seems to basically be dead, no bars even get setup in my state let alone anything near me. The one time i did try to go it was a place in downtown Atlanta that required paid parking. It needs to be open everyday and be more community driven. At this point its just an app I have every intention of deleting when I need space. Dating apps are all pretty bad, but this one is also bone dry

### 1/5 — Horribly Buggy to the Point I Can't Set Up Profile Properly

*2024-03-03*

I downloaded the app, excited to see what it had to offer, especially with such a unique twist on online dating with a focus on, ya know, meeting and getting to know people organically. But in the same day I have already deleted it. I signed up for an account through Facebook, and then proceeded to have be unable to upload additional photos as was required (I kept getting an error regarding database persistence) and, to add insult to injury, I couldn't do the photo verification because tue only photo of mine the app did manage to grab from Facebook was my profile pic, which is a digital illustration I did of myself years ago, so of course it didn't match with a modern selfie. Too many bugs, too much effort.

### 1/5 — App shows your location

*2024-02-22*

This app shows the location of your potential matches with their photos, including your own profile!!! Right down to what street you are on! This is dangerous and very scary. With the number of crazy people out there in the world why would you show the precise location of an app user?! Unacceptable and dangerous.

### 1/5 — No Events, Not Ready to Be an App

*2024-01-19*

Update: Down to 0 stars. I’ve had the app for 2 months and I live in the heart of the city. It went from the same bar every week to not even bothering to set up a host bar. I get notifications they are starting premium events next month but they can’t even manage the basic function of the services they advertise. Add that it’s a small user base. Good idea but very underwhelmed. I even ordered a ring through their family company Pear. It never arrived and company hasn’t responded in 3 followups about the lost package. I now have a claim with my credit card company.

### 1/5 — It’s a dating app

*2024-01-01*

It says it’s not a dating app but you can’t find out what’s going on in your area without setting up a profile with your age and photo and who knows what else. They also want you to buy premium so you can message and like people. If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck. All I wanted was to know where single people are so I can go there and meet other single people. This is lies

### 5/5 — Thursday: The Perfect App for Real-Life Connections

*2024-11-22*

Thursday is truly a game-changer in the dating world. The app’s unique concept of being live only on Thursdays creates a sense of excitement and urgency that sets it apart from traditional dating platforms. It encourages users to seize the moment and focus on building real-life connections instead of endless swiping.

One of the standout benefits of Thursday is its focus on face-to-face interactions. By promoting events and meetups, it takes the pressure off small talk and helps you connect with like-minded people in a fun, social environment. It’s perfect for anyone tired of superficial matches and looking for something more authentic.

The user interface is sleek and easy to navigate, making the process of finding events and matches incredibly straightforward. Plus, the emphasis on local connections ensures you’re meeting people in your area who are genuinely interested in meeting up.

Overall, Thursday combines the best elements of modern dating apps with an innovative twist that prioritizes meaningful connections. It’s perfect for anyone ready to take dating beyond the screen. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Times are changing!

*2024-02-29*

We are all over the dating apps these days. I love that there are events where I can go and meeting like minded people. I think most of us turn to dating apps hoping for connection but never get it. The Thursday events offer a really awesome organic environment to connect make friends and flex my flirting skills.

Events aren’t weekly in my city yet, but I know they are ramping up. Gotta get the word out and these events will be THE place to go!

### 5/5 — Please update this

*2022-12-22, version 1.15.1*

When liking a perso , and it gives you the option to send a message. It doesn’t let you paste one of your pickup lines into the app. Ugh and on top of that it doesn’t even allow you to edit cause the keyboard keeps popping up!

**Developer response:** Hi there, so sorry you're experiencing issues. Please can you send us an email at hello@getthursday.com describing what's happened so that we can help you? Many thanks, Thursday Support

### 5/5 — I have so much fun at these events

*2022-11-30*

I’ve learned to salsa, connected with personal trainers, danced the night away on Halloween and more. This app attracts quite a lot of beautiful souls that I don’t see on normal dating apps. The spontaneous nature of theexperiences consistently guarantee an amazing time. Could not recommend more! 💗🌹

What an epic night! Such a fun group, cool concept, and just really well executed end to end. I’d definitely recommend giving one of these events a go if you’re single and looking to meet new people!
Did I meet the love of my life? No. Did I get drunk and meet a bunch of awesome new people? Yes.
See you at the next one 🫶🏻

### 5/5 — Good vibes, good people
