### 2/5 — Unusable without enabling all notifications

*2022-03-20, version 2.1*

I don’t want to enable all notifications

### 3/5 — Not terrible

*2022-03-08, version 2.1*

Not terrible but I could definitely think of a few improvements. The timer doesn’t go off long enough and there is only one timer for the oven. Quite often I have several items in the oven which I would like to have timers for, so I am still using the timer on my stove and the timer on my phone as well as the app. I will look for another timer app that may have these other options that I’m looking for.

### 4/5 — Great for a busy day in the kitchen

*2021-11-28, version 2.1*

Would be awesome to have a slow cooker / Instant Pot additional image to set times for those separate cooking stations.

### 3/5 — Great concept but could use one change

*2021-11-18, version 2.1*

If we could change the name of the “plates” that would be really helpful on days like thanksgiving or big dinner parties so you can easily recall what the timer is for

### 4/5 — Would be better with customizing the layout

*2021-07-18, version 2.1*

Would be great to have an option to customize the layout for additional burners or ovens.

### 3/5 — Add time 5 mn down

*2020-11-19, version 2.1*

Le « add time 5 minutes » dans les notifications ne marche plus :/
c’était bien :)

### 3/5 — Add ability to shortcut

*2020-10-06, version 2.1*

Please add the ability to create shortcuts. I have times I always use and would like to use one click to set a few different timers

### 4/5 — Needs one more feature...

*2020-07-05, version 2.1*

I'm liking this! I do have a suggestion, though. If it could prevent the phone's auto-lock from turning on while Thyme is in use, that be great. Having to repeatedly unlock my phone to see the timers while cooking is very inconvenient.

### 2/5 — Inflexible notifications

*2020-04-19, version 2.1*

I understand the need for notifications, I want to know when the timer is finished. What I don’t understand is the insistence that ALL notifications be on, sounds, badges, banners, all screens, everything. It’s lazy programming, not accessibility focused as the developer has claimed in response to another review.

### 4/5 — really like it.. BUT..

*2020-03-24, version 2.1*

Im avoiding the update now for 4 month already - cause i use the watch app frequently and dont want it to disappear.. :(

### 2/5 — No longer on Apple Watch

*2020-01-01, version 2.1*

This is such a great app, yet so disappointing (and limiting) that it’s no longer available for Apple Watch. It was most useful for cooking and running multiple timers when it was in your wrist.

### 3/5 — Nice and Simple but Watch is Gone

*2020-01-01, version 2.1*

I like it. It’s simple and it does just what it says.

However , the removal of the watch app makes this no longer a go to app in the kitchen. I’ll probably remove it from my phone. Was a nice run, though.

We need it in an iPad format, please.

### 5/5 — Love Multiple Timers

*2020-01-01, version 2.1*

[Pro:] I use this for other than cooking (as indicated by design and timer names) and it is great for multiple tasks, using the stove top times for sub tasks and the oven timer for the bigger picture.
[Con:] As of now (Dec 2019) I notice that once a timer runs out and it offers the “Add 3 Min” or “Add 5 Min” they DO NOTHING, and is sometimes not even offered if the app is not running, only the system’s notification.

### 5/5 — Nice application

*2019-12-24, version 2.1*

Very convenient 👍🏼

### 2/5 — Very sad

*2019-11-28, version 2.1*

I miss the app for my phone. I used it a lot!

### 2/5 — Bring back watch app

*2019-11-28, version 2.1*

Please bring back the watch app. I don’t like I have to pick up my phone when cooking.

### 2/5 — Bring back Apple Watch app

*2019-11-06, version 2.1*

Very upset to hear that watch support was TAKEN AWAY. I don’t think it matters that few people used it. I used it and loved it. Why build up fans just to tear them down. Sufficed to say I’m quite disappointed.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — I don’t want to allow notifications so don’t put me in a recursive loop for me to allow them.

*2020-05-03, version 2.1*

That is well out of order.

### 1/5 — Deleted watch app 😭

*2020-03-11, version 2.1*

Why

### 1/5 — Why did you remove from Apple Watch?!

*2019-11-13, version 2.1*

This app was awesome, until you removed it from Apple Watch. It’s no longer useful to me now. Wth?

### 1/5 — Removal of watch app a mistake

*2019-10-31, version 2.1*

I used the watch app on a regular basis, far more than I used the phone app. I may ditch the app entirely now that the watch app was removed.

### 1/5 — Abandoned by developers

*2019-10-17, version 2.0.1*

I cant even open the app because it hasnt been updated in 3 years. It is incompatible with the new ios, so when I try to open it, it just crashes immediately and screws up my phone. No thanks. The idea is really cool and I was so excited to try it. Shame i wont ever get to.

### 1/5 — Not getting past notification setting screen.

*2019-10-15, version 2.0.1*

Update: I deleted & downloaded the app again and now it’s not even opening. Zero stars would be better.

Original: Despite the fact that I have notifications turned on for this app, it won’t allow me to get past the screen telling me to allow notifications. I tried turning off & back on notifications just to see if that worked, but no.
I’m on iPhone X iOS 13.1.2.
This used to work but I haven’t needed it for a long time.

Oh well.

### 1/5 — Hate the update (Oct 2018)

*2018-10-27, version 2.0.1*

This was a simple timer app which worked. Ignored any updates because I liked what I had.
Updated my phone and it turned on automatic updates and sadly Thyme was one of them.
Get rid of Herbie...... we are adults, not a bunch of kids.
Get rid of notifications, all I want to hear is the timer going off.
This is the second app I have removed tonight and I think more may follow.
Hopefully, someone will read the reviews and undo all the cute updates and return it back to being a nice simple timer app.

### 1/5 — dont bother

*2018-08-09, version 2.0.1*

Should nott need to send notifications to do timing
Deleted after this review

### 1/5 — No updates :(

*2017-12-26, version 2.0.1*

Used to love Thyme. But it hasn’t had an update for a while. No longer rings on completion! Dangerous!

### 1/5 — Abandonware, stay away!

*2017-10-28, version 2.0.1*

It is supposed to do one and only one thing and can't even do that well - timer is silent, can't be changed and is too short in duration. This app was a nice concept but was let out to pasture by the developer. Hasn't been updated in 2 years. Stay away.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Nice app!

*2025-08-16, version 2.1*

Works as expected!

### 5/5 — An essential app for the holidays

*2024-11-28, version 2.1*

I use this year round but it has become essential at the holidays when I have dishes going with different timetables. I have never in the in over the decade of using it had a problem. I could not believe I haven’t reviewed it before now.

### 5/5 — Elegant multi timer

*2024-09-01, version 2.1*

Really well done app. There are a few really small issues but it’s the best one out there. I hope the developer is still listening to reviews. I’d be willing to pay a few $$ or pay a tip if the app was redone with a few settings updates such as timer volume, integration with Siri.

### 5/5 — I love it!

*2023-05-15, version 2.1*

A simple looking interface that can time up to 5 timers through the graphic representations of 4 burners and a stove. It’s rather artistic! The alarm works while phone is locked, but I find the view of the interface appealing and would also be willing to keep the screen on.

My one issue is there doesn’t seem to be a way to cancel a timer unless you very carefully adjust it to 0. I would like to see a quick way to cancel a timer.

### 5/5 — I have been using this since it came out

*2023-01-03, version 2.1*

I love that it’s clear to see the times, and it’s easy to set timers with possibly only one clean finger :)

### 5/5 — Love App

*2021-10-12, version 2.1*

Love the App! Hate the fact I can’t use it on my Apple Watch I just purchased! Came here to find out they took it off over a year ago due to low use. I’d use it if it were there! I use it often. Not as much since I started working 10 hour days and don’t have time. But when I cook this is what I use!

### 5/5 — Best timer app I’ve used

*2021-07-02, version 2.1*

I love the look, feel, and layout of this app. Easy and clear.

### 5/5 — Сделайте версию для Watch

*2021-04-01, version 2.1*

В остальном отлично

### 5/5 — Helps me juggle

*2021-03-30, version 2.1*

My Achilles Heal is timing multiple burners and what’s where. This is easy to set and at a glance I’m updated and ready.

### 5/5 — Fantastically useful!!!

*2020-05-13, version 2.1*

This app is perfect for someone (like me) who often has several things cooking on different burners, plus one in the oven. It’s so easy to time multiple pots, and to know which pot’s timer is going off. Bravo!
