## What is Tiaki Trails?

Tiaki Trails is your map and companion for hiking, tramping, and multi-day trips across Aotearoa New Zealand - official DOC huts, campsites, tracks, and live alerts on one map, plus tools to plan, record, and stay safe on the trail.

WHAT'S ON THE MAP
- Official DOC huts, campsites, and tracks, including Great Walks, sourced directly from the Department of Conservation
- Live DOC alerts and closures, so you know before you go
- The Te Araroa Trail Trust's full trail line, with trail alerts and hut info
- Topo and aerial base maps from LINZ, plus OpenStreetMap streets

PLAN YOUR TRIP
- Save your favourite huts, campsites, and custom waypoints
- Build a day-by-day trip itinerary with notes and photos, like a hiking diary
- Check the weather forecast anywhere on the map before you set out
- Measure distances directly on the map

ON THE TRAIL
- Record your hike's track, distance, elevation, and time
- A stats dashboard tracks your recorded tracks and completed trips over time
- Quick access to emergency info: register a Personal Locator Beacon, check Outdoor Intentions, or text your live GPS location to a contact over cellular, no satellite gear needed
- Export your trips, tracks, and diary any time to back up or move to a new phone
- Core map data, huts, campsites, tracks and alerts are cached for offline use once loaded

COMMUNITY
- See and add crowd-sourced points from other trampers, natural water sources, trail notes, and more, each with photos and comments

Available in English and Te Reo Māori.
