## What is Tick Tracker?

Tick Tracker helps you check local tick risk before you head outside.

Built for hikers, dog owners, parents, campers, gardeners, hunters, homeowners, and anyone spending time outdoors, Tick Tracker combines tick sightings, tick hotspot maps, Lyme disease awareness, seasonal risk data, and community reports into one simple tick tracker for your area.

Instead of only scanning a pet or showing general tick safety tips, Tick Tracker is designed around the question people actually ask before going outside:

“Are ticks active near me right now?”

TICK TRACKER & LOCAL RISK MAP

View tick sightings and tick activity on an interactive map. See where ticks have been reported, where tick hotspots may be forming, and how tick risk changes by region. Tick Tracker helps you understand local tick activity before walking the dog, hiking a trail, camping, mowing the lawn, gardening, or letting kids play outside.

LYME DISEASE AWARENESS

Tick Tracker includes Lyme disease awareness and tick-borne disease prevention information to help you understand why tick checks matter. Learn about tick risk factors, seasonal patterns, bite prevention, removal basics, and when to contact a healthcare professional after a tick bite.

REAL-WORLD TICK SIGHTINGS

Use the map to explore recent tick sightings and tick reports. Tick Tracker is built to surface local outdoor risk, not just generic national information. Check your region, compare nearby areas, and monitor tick activity before spending time in grassy, wooded, brushy, or leaf-covered areas.

COMMUNITY TICK REPORTS

Help improve the map by reporting tick sightings, tick bites, pet tick encounters, yard activity, trail encounters, and other tick-related observations. Community reporting helps make Tick Tracker more useful during tick season.

TICK HOTSPOTS

Find areas with higher tick activity and monitor changing tick risk over time. Tick Tracker is useful for checking parks, trails, neighborhoods, campgrounds, backyards, and other outdoor areas where tick exposure may be more likely.

OUTDOOR SAFETY FOR PEOPLE & PETS

Ticks can affect people, dogs, cats, and other animals. Tick Tracker is built for families and pet owners who want a simple tick monitor before outdoor activities. Check local tick risk, review prevention tips, and build the habit of checking for ticks after time outside.

FEATURES

• Tick tracker with local tick activity
• Tick monitor for outdoor risk awareness
• Tick sightings map
• Tick hotspot map
• Lyme disease awareness
• Tick bite prevention information
• Community tick reports
• Regional tick risk levels

WHY TICK TRACKER?

Most tick apps focus on one thing: scanning for ticks, logging a report, or providing education. Tick Tracker brings the most useful pieces together in a map-first experience built around local risk.

Use Tick Tracker when you want to know:

• Are ticks active near me?
• Where are tick hotspots nearby?
• Has anyone reported ticks in this area?
• Is my region at higher tick risk this season?
• What should I do after a tick bite?
• How can I reduce tick exposure before going outside?

TICK SEASON CHANGES BY LOCATION

Tick activity can vary by region, weather, habitat, and season. Some areas may see higher risk in spring and summer, while others may have activity into fall or during warmer winter periods. Tick Tracker helps you monitor changing tick activity.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE

Tick Tracker is an informational outdoor safety app. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose Lyme disease, tick-borne illness, tick bites, rashes, or symptoms. If you find an attached tick, develop a rash, feel sick after a tick bite, or have concerns about Lyme disease or another tick-borne disease, contact a qualified healthcare professional.

### 5/5 — Saved me on a hike!!

*2026-05-29*

I was planning a hike on the Pacific Coast and decided to check this app for any ticks that could potentially be carriers of Lyme Disease.

It let me know the Western Backlegged Tick was in the exact area where my hike was planned and I was able to plan accordingly! Would have been really scary to find this out later. Excellent app!!

**Developer response:** Great to hear this is helpful for you! Appreciate the 5 star review!

### 1.02 — 2026-06-02

What's New in Version 1.02

This update expands coverage into Canada and makes the map and reporting experience cleaner and more useful.

- Canada is here: live tick sightings now include Canadian observations, and the map shows Lyme disease data for every Canadian province and territory from the Public Health Agency of Canada.

### 1.01 — 2026-05-30

Version 1.1 - What's New

• Snap a photo when you report a tick - Take a new photo right from the camera or pick an existing one from your library. Your exact location always stays private.

• Choose how far back you see sightings - A new time-range control on the map lets you view live tick sightings from the last 30 days, 90 days, 1 year, or 5 years — so you can focus on recent activity or see the bigger picture. The map pulls every identified tick species across North America for a truly active view.

• Clearer county details - Tap any county and you'll now see its full name and state spelled out (for example, "Greene County" with "New York" underneath) instead of an abbreviation.

• A smoother first experience - We refreshed onboarding throughout: a friendlier welcome, a bigger and slower-animating chart so you can watch the case counts climb, a real photo of the blacklegged (Lyme) tick, clearer guidance on tapping counties for stats, and a new animation for reporting a tick.

• Better map tips. First-run tips now wait for you to finish each step before showing the next, so guidance never overlaps an open screen.
Various refinements and fixes.
