## What is Tickmarks?

Climb with intent.

Climbing is not about collecting ticks. It's about returning. Trying again. Solving something that once felt impossible.

Tickmarks is a focused climbing logbook and boulder tracker built for climbers who care about real progress — not social feeds.

No likes. No ads. No noise.

Just your climbing.

A structured climbing logbook

Log sessions in seconds. Track attempts, grades and outcomes. Capture the route. Mark the effort. Move on.

Use Tickmarks as your personal climbing tracker:
• Bouldering log
• Route log
• Session tracker with live lock screen widget
• Project tracking with failure analysis
• Coaching tools - style tags, hold types, RPE
• Weakness profile & personal records
• Performance insights

Minimal enough for the gym. Structured enough for long-term progress.

Projects are built, not sent

Real improvement happens across sessions.

Track:
• Attempts per climb
• Project history
• Days invested
• Send progression
• What stopped you - finger strength, beta, fear, footwork

Turn frustration into data. Turn effort into clarity.

Train with data

Your ascent pyramid shows progression and focus. Your flash rate shows control. Your weakness profile shows what to train next. Your personal records show how far you've come. Your sessions show consistency. Every session earns a training label, and a weekly review turns the past week into one clear takeaway.

Share your sends as branded climb cards - photos and videos. Export session data for your trainer.

Tickmarks helps you understand your climbing - not just record it.

Built for serious climbers

Designed for those who:
• Train deliberately
• Repeat problems for mastery
• Care about movement
• Want a clean climbing app without distraction

Tickmarks is a climbing logbook. And it stays that way.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4.0 — 2026-07-17

Weakness Profile (Pro)
Your coaching tags finally pay off. Tickmarks now analyzes your style tags, hold types, and failure reasons to show where you struggle most and what to train next. See your send rate per hold type and style, your most common failure reasons, and a summary of your top weakness and strongest area. Log tags on your climbs and the picture builds itself.

Personal Records
Your all-time bests, in one place. Hardest send and flash per grading system, most sends and most climbs in a single session, longest streak, and your best flash month. Records update automatically when you break one, with a "NEW" badge for the ones you set this week. Free for everyone — progress shouldn't be paywalled.

Weekly Review
A quick recap of your week the first time you open the app in a new one. Sessions, climbs, and sends compared to the week before with trend arrows, your best send, and a one-line takeaway on the kind of week it was. Dismissible, shown once per week.

Session Quality
Every session now gets a training label — Limit, Flash, Project Work, Volume, Productive, Recovery — so you know at a glance what kind of day it was. Open a session to see a short explanation of why it earned that label. Classification is effort-weighted, so a few warm-up flashes don't overshadow real project work.

Stats, Reorganized
The Stats screen is now split into three tabs - Overview, Progress, and Insights - so you see one theme at a time instead of one long scroll. Each section has a tappable info icon that explains what you're looking at.

Bug Fixes & Polish

- More hold types: edges, underclings, sidepulls, and gastons
- Hardest send and best-send records are shown per grading system, since grades don't map 1:1 across systems
- Custom style tag input now works on Android
- "What's new" is re-openable any time from Settings → About

### 1.3.0 — 2026-07-01

- Live Session on your Lock Screen Start a climbing session and track your progress without opening the app. Climb count, elapsed time, and your hardest send - visible on your lock screen and Dynamic Island throughout the session. The timer keeps running even when the app is closed.

- Video Sharing with Overlay Share climbing videos with your grade, status, and location branded directly onto the video. Uses the same visual style as image share cards - gradient overlay, accent-colored grade, watermark. Composed natively via AVFoundation, no quality loss.

- Coaching Tools Tag your climbs with style (slab, overhang, compression…), hold types (crimps, slopers, pinches…), and log what stopped you on a project - finger strength, beta, fear, footwork, and more. Rate your session effort with RPE (1–10) in the session summary. All tags use standard climbing terminology in both English and German.

- Milestone Celebrations Personal bests are now recognized when you log a climb. First send at a new grade? First flash? Tickmarks detects it and shows a celebration. No setup needed - it just knows.

- Streak Awareness A motivational banner greets you on the Log screen when you've been climbing multiple weeks in a row. Randomized messages, shown once per session, auto-dismisses after a few seconds.

- Session Export Export any session as JSON to share with your trainer or keep for your records. Includes all climbs, attempts, grades, and session metadata.

Bug Fixes & Polish
- RPE buttons centered and properly sized in session summary
- Skip and OK buttons side by side in failure reason modal
- Style tags, hold types, and failure reasons displayed on detail screen
- Fixed duplicate alert when adding custom style tags on iOS

### 1.2.0 — 2026-04-28

Version 1.2.0 — Ascent Pyramid, Data Export & More

ASCENT PYRAMID
Your climbing distribution at a glance. See sends and flashes per grade in a horizontal bar chart. Pro users get grade-aware focus detection — the app identifies your working grade, suggests where to focus next, and adapts its guidance based on your position in the grading system.
No misleading "balance your pyramid" messages — just realistic, climbing-native feedback.

DATA EXPORT
Export all your climbs as CSV (for spreadsheets) or JSON (machine-readable) from Settings. Your data, your format.

VIDEO SHARING
Select a video in the share card modal and share it directly via the native share sheet. The card preview uses a video thumbnail as background.

SHARE CARD PHOTO PICKER
When a tickmark has multiple photos, choose which one appears on your share card.

ARCHIVE LOCATIONS
Visited a gym once while traveling? Archive it so it no longer affects your active stats. All data stays intact — just hidden from pyramids, charts, and insights. Unarchive anytime.

BUG FIXES & POLISH
- Consistent accent color across all stat cards
- Fixed grade progression chart line rendering
- Grade progression section stays visible when switching systems
- Standardized spacing across the stats screen
