## What is Tickscope?

Tickscope is the complete companion for the mechanical watch lover — on the phone you already own.

TIMEGRAPHER Rate, beat error, and amplitude, measured in seconds. No bench, no microphone hardware. Place your watch against the phone's microphone and read accuracy to ±1 s/d, the same numbers a $2,000 shop machine would give you.

WEAR CALENDAR Log every watch you wear. A color-coded heat map shows your rotation by week, month, and year, with live stats on your most-worn pieces. Your rotation, finally visible.

WATCHES Catalog your collection with photos, references, and full specs. Every timing session is saved per watch, so the measurement history is always tied to the piece it came from.

HERITAGE Add a Rolex Submariner, an Omega Speedmaster, a Seiko SKX007 — Tickscope recognizes what it is. You get a short reverent blurb, the caliber, and the origin with a flag. 5,000+ references across 50+ brands, entirely on-device.

CLOCK A grand-complications dial in your pocket. Working chronograph, rattrapante split, moonphase, and three finishes, all synced to iOS atomic time.

LIBRARY 14 deep articles on how watches actually work. A 124-term horology glossary. A 125-caliber reference database you can link to any watch in your collection.

### 5/5 — Good for benchmarking

*2026-04-19*

Discovered this app because I was looking to measure accuracy for my recently serviced Speedy. Going to start using this for my other vintage pieces as well, before I invest in servicing them at all. Never thought about using my phone's microphone for this kind of thing - it's a neat idea.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.05 — 2026-05-04

What's New in This Version
1.0.5 — Catalog & Heritage Polish

• Sort the Watches list — by Brand, Recently Worn, Most Worn, Date Added, or Last Measured. Your choice persists across launches.

• Each catalog row now shows wear recency at a glance: "Worn today," "Worn 3 days ago," and so on.

• Sharper heritage matching across thousands of references. The family preamble ("On the Submariner") now shows correctly for every reference in a known family — previously it was inconsistent on modern Submariners and Datejusts. Compound model names like "Speedmaster Moonwatch" now resolve to the more specific entry. And short-key false positives — Orient "Stingray" matching the "Ray" entry, MeisterSinger "Neoclassic" matching "Neo" — are gone.

• Caliber suggestions are more honest. Family heritage entries that span multiple generations (Submariner, Speedmaster, Explorer) no longer auto-pick a misleading specific caliber for your modern reference. Your own movement-type field always wins when it's filled in.

• Wear Calendar ends with a quiet rolling-30-day summary: "Logged 12 of the last 30 days · IWC Mark XVIII most often."

• Borderless card surfaces throughout — cleaner reading on every screen, with copper accents that hold up at every size.

### 1.01 — 2026-03-28

• iPad: Added microphone placement guidance for more accurate measurements
• Fixed measurement counter tracking
• Updated support links

### 1.0 — 2026-03-27

No release notes.
