The only possible explanation for them making this app is to be able to say for marketing purposes. Not one would ever use this for the reasons already described in other reviews.

Can never connect because phone can never find it. This is even when you’re 2 feet away from it. When you’re lucky to get on you get kicked off once your phone goes off. You can only turn on and off the pump and change levels. Setting the timer would be nice. Also getting on through blue tooth would be way easier than it’s own wifi. Not user friendly at all. Stick to the remote it comes with.

Unlike most other IoT devices such as Belkin Wemos, can’t add the TWC VSC to a wi-fi network. Stuck having to always switch to a peer wi-fi connection in the controller itself. So no way to control the water garden pumps at a distance away from the controller.  Might as well just use the remote provided with the controller and dump the app.

Won’t find the network, for phone use. I’ve only had the remote work when I’m close to unit within 20 feet. Very dissatisfied the app for phone won’t switch over to wi fi after you log in it just stays on same page. I deleted app and reloaded did the same thing. So now I can’t control pump when I’m on a vacation which is why I bought it.

Wow, having to switch between WIFI networks to control, are you kidding me? This is totally worthless. At least it came with a remote control.

Requires login to its own separate WiFi network which logs you out of your home WiFi you use for everything else.  One star is too much.

I have no issues connecting to the equipment line many others here are saying. But the whole claimed function of being able to pump speeds is not there. So the app nothing but a redundant remote.
