### 2/5 — Twiist User - No Support

*2026-04-17, version 3.1.3*

As a Twiist user, I was excited to use the app to seem more of my data. But, there is nothing including anything that would let me know what to expect. Very confusing. Is it supposed to work?

### 2/5 — Worthless app and mobile site

*2025-12-24, version 3.1.3*

Unfortunately, the Tidepool app and mobile site are completely worthless in connection to the Twiist pump. It’s a serious disappointment for this collaboration to be such a failure. You can’t use the app itself at all, and the mobile site has the bare minimum functionality so you can’t actually view any of your useful data. On top of that, the actual desktop website is extremely glitchy and doesn’t show an accurate portrayal of CGM readings so I cannot trust the data on there. I hope they mae changed soon bc this has been a major issue on this new pump.

### 3/5 — Needs updating

*2023-06-14, version 3.1.3*

I notice the iOS app hasn’t been updated for two years now. Has Tidepool given up on this?
Doesn’t work too well for me as it gets 400 errors when uploading data.

### 3/5 — Useful but has an annoying glitch

*2023-04-12, version 3.1.3*

I find this app useful. It automatically uploads all of my son’s DIY loop data to Tidepool. We use both Tslim and Loop so having everything in one place is very useful. I also like that I can easily record notes about what was happening.

The annoying glitch is that it works for the first hour after I download it. Then every time I try to upload data a has a 401 error and any notes I make disappear.

Would be great if it showed some of the Tidepool data in the app too.

### 2/5 — No point to this app if I can’t view data from other sources

*2022-02-12, version 3.1.3*

I used Tidepool on my PC as I have an older insulin pump with no support for mobile data syncing. I assumed if I downloaded the Tidepool app that I would be able to see data from other Tidepool upload sources on my phone, and possibly sync said data to Apple Health.

Unfortunately this app is just a glorified meal tracker. I can’t see previous data from my PC data uploads. I’ve tried to contact the developer and suggest feedback but never heard back.

Only reasons I’m giving 2 stars is because it’s good there’s a third party option for data analytics other then the big name brands and not having to be locked into one ecosystem.

### 2/5 — Great Concept, Poor Execution

*2021-04-19, version 3.1.3*

Love the idea of this program.. of a one stop shop to keep track of all your diabetes data, but its still too primitive to be super helpful.

There needs to be an option to be able manually enter insulin doses, as my connected InPen is only able to sync short acting. There is currently no way for me to add my long acting insulin doses.

Also would love for it to to be smart enough to track exercises recorded in apple health within my graph as exercise impacts blood sugars too & is essential for big picture.

Great concept, very very long way to go for it to be an actually decent program for both mobile and web.

Its so bare bones that its shocking the basic things you cant do within the software.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2020-08-03, version 2.1.12*

Useless if you use Medtronic.

### 1/5 — Junk

*2020-07-02, version 2.1.12*

What a difficult program to install and no tech support!

### 1/5 — No data

*2020-06-19, version 2.1.12*

Can’t see any data on this app. I have a blank page! The only way I can view data is through desktop only.

### 1/5 — Really needs thinking through

*2019-12-22, version 2.1.12*

I love Tidepool and the whole idea of aggregating data, but this app is way short of the mark. Essentially if you want a food diary then this is it. If you want to look at your data, then you can’t. The website is setup in a way that only allows desktop/laptop based browsers, and the iPad/phone app wont let you near the graphs... This really seems like a massive miss given a child/teenager is more likely to have a tablet than a laptop, you’ve basically blocked them out from using the system.

### 2/5 — Why does it only display 8 hours?

*2019-09-17, version 2.1.12*

This seems really only useful for uploading data. In a time where everyone is on mobile, tidepool is really dropping the ball by having such a lackluster app.

No customization. No way to show data over 8 hours long. It doesnt automatically show your days like any reasonable bg app would. You have to manually make a note just to see a small snippet. Did they make this app terrible on purpose?

### 1/5 — Wow. What crap.

*2019-08-06, version 2.1.12*

This app is abysmal. I’d be embarrassed to put my name on it. You give it access to all your data and you see...nothing. You enter in some note (why?) and then you see something, but can’t really interact with it to get the views you want and the data you want. Why even put this out - it just hurts your reputation.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t connect to online database

*2019-07-21, version 2.1.12*

I was enjoying using the web app downloaded to my Mac. That version works great. I’m disappointed that the mobile version of the Tidepool app doesn’t connect to that database. Not sure if is being actively updated. I would not recommend to download this app.

### 2/5 — What is with the notes thing?

*2019-04-05, version 2.1.11*

Seriously, every other data visualisation tool just shows me my data, WITHOUT having to add a not and then only showing me a few hours of it.
Also, MAKE IT WORK ON MOBILE!
This idea that to truly see your data you need a desktop computer is crazy nowadays.
I want to like it, but so far I hate dealing with Tidepool.

### 1/5 — Just show me the data.

*2019-03-14, version 2.1.10*

What’s with this need to add notes thing. Just show me the data like every other app does.

### 2/5 — No Landscape Mode

*2019-03-06, version 2.1.10*

Very inconvenient to use since I have a Keyboard attached.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stale App - Bare Minimum Execution

*2024-12-31, version 3.1.3*

App has gone stale and has not received any updates in a few years.

The app only allows for logging events and does not provide a way to view past glucose values like their online tool can. However their online tool can only be used on Windows and Mac computers - not mobile.

It would be nice if this app supported the same features as the web tool or at least provide an overview of time in range for past days.

### 1/5 — Not Data shown

*2024-09-27, version 3.1.3*

Sadly no Data is shown in the App, but on the Website I can see my Data

### 1/5 — Wow! All that setup for nothing.

*2024-04-10, version 3.1.3*

Ok! You got me. I went to kick the football and you pulled it away. Just a blank screen. Seriously, are you guys in the business of data phishing? Apple App Store cops, where are you on this scam?

### 1/5 — Poor medical app

*2023-12-19, version 3.1.3*

As a type 1 diabetic who’s doctor had me use the app, it absolutely sucks!! I have to use it on a certain type of computer, it can’t work on a MacBook or a google chrome browser. And therefore I’m never able to download my numbers for my doctors appointments. There are many other things I hate about tidepool, but overall terrible unreliable app. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend.

### 1/5 — Fairly useless

*2023-08-30, version 3.1.3*

The Tidepool website won’t let me view my data from iPad. It insists that I use a desktop browser, for some reason. When I log in from my iPad, it tells me “ Download Tidepool Mobile for iOS or Android to add notes and see your data on the go:”

This is apparently a lie. The Tidepool Mobile app does not allow you to “see your data on the go,” unless the data is hidden somewhere I can’t find it. Tidepool is a handy tool, but I use iPad/iPhone about 80 times more than I use a desktop/laptop computer. I just want to see my data. Why does Tidepool make that so hard? And why does Tidepoollie about the capabilities of its mobile app?

### 1/5 — Need Mobile App to download data

*2023-04-30, version 3.1.3*

I can’t believe you can not link your meter to the app and upload your data. Using the app to upload your data would be so much easier. Please add this feature to your app!!

### 1/5 — Outdated app

*2023-04-24, version 3.1.3*

The last update was 2+ years ago. I look forward to new features and connections like the omnipod 5 cloud connection but I'm not hopefully at this point.

### 1/5 — iPhone mini

*2023-02-15, version 3.1.3*

It’s really difficult to tap the menu and add buttons on an iPhone mini.

### 1/5 — severely limited functionality

*2022-11-25, version 3.1.3*

You are able to upload health data to Tidepool. You can enter notes for events. That is about it. Functionality has not been updated in over 2 years.

### 1/5 — I don’t understand the purpose

*2021-11-09, version 3.1.3*

Adding notes is a PITA - who has time for that? And where can I see my trends and days - is this only for feeding into the web app? This is my second time trying this, and the experiment went no better this time.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Easy

*2025-09-07, version 3.1.3*

Easy and effective. When you eat how you feel good notebook

### 5/5 — Great way to aggregate t1d data

*2023-08-27, version 3.1.3*

Really enjoying being able to add notes for my daughter’s care, along with my husband, all
in one spot. helpful to analyze these notes along with cgm, verio, and pump data on tidepool’s website on the backend to make carb/correction dose and basal changes. really helps see the full picture in one spot— her care team encouraged us to try it out and it has been a great way to make consistent weekly changes to everything for better numbers.

### 5/5 — Always love Tidepool

*2022-06-08, version 3.1.3*

I love this app and everything Tidepool stands for 😍 I couldn’t find an area for a feature request but I’d love to be able to upload a picture of food or my temp basels. Tidepool mobile is a fantastic companion to looping 😍

### 5/5 — New and Improved!

*2019-01-16, version 2.1.9*

Love the new version that reads from Health! It’s great to be able to start watching trends as soon as I add a marker note!

### 5/5 — Amazing App for Tracking Trends

*2018-01-25, version 2.0.2*

Our endo recommended this app for my 13 year old son and it has been an excellent addition to our care plan. It has allowed us to track how specific things impact his blood sugar by using the search feature and he loves the # concept. We have tried countless apps and he has never stuck with using them. This has been the exception.

I love Tidepool because it allows us to communicate with his endo team through the note option and they can see all of his devices. No more keeping a log and writing numbers down. It’s brilliant. My son, his dad and I all three have the app as well as the school nurse which allows all to make notes. It truly allows us to work as a team in managing his T1D.

I will continue to suggest the app to every T1D family I meet. Excellent job!

### 5/5 — Great update!

*2017-07-26, version 2.0.0*

Love being able to search over my notes. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Great app to quickly add notes to your data in Blip!

*2017-07-25, version 2.0.0*

Now with CGM data inline! Good job guys. #WeAreNotWaiting

### 5/5 — Great Service

*2016-08-11, version 1.1.1*

5 stars for the service. I would love to see the app get Background App Refresh so it can upload my Dexcom data in the background once a day or so. I'm trying to do my initial sync of 315 days but it only loads while the app is open.

### 5/5 — Simple, elegant, helpful

*2015-12-08, version 1.0*

Wonderful app to communicate across family and providers as we manage a young one's t1d.
Improving outcomes everyday.

### 4/5 — Unexpected app leading to low ratings

*2024-06-29, version 3.1.3*

This app is to upload data from specific devices / Apple health to tipepool.

However, wahan I installed it I expected that it will show me the tidepool data. It puzzled me for a bit and then I figured that the purpose of the app is not to show information.

In current times such an app is unexpected. But their web interface is awesome and free, so I can’t complain. Thank you tidepool.
