## What is TidyElf?

TidyElf is is a personal all-in-one app. With simple operations, you can record daily thoughts and item information.

For data storage: Your data is stored locally on your device by default. Text data is encrypted using the open-source SQLCipher extension for SQLite, while image data is stored in plaintext. When data sync is enabled, all local data (including images) is encrypted before being synced to our server with end-to-end encryption. We cannot access your data in plaintext, ensuring full privacy protection.

Note: Sync uses our self-hosted server and does not occupy your iCloud storage.

As we use encrypted storage, the app automatically generates an encryption key on first launch and backs it up to your iCloud, taking up only about 1–5KB of space. Please ensure iCloud is enabled to complete the key backup. If the key is lost, we will be unable to recover your data.
