I will some times prepare some of the kriah during slow times at the office. This tikun is easy to navigate and easy to read. I bought the full version. The price is cheaper then even a basic printed version. I highly recommend this tikun. I primarily use the iPad version. ### 5/5 — Technology + Torah = Awesome! *2012-01-05, version 1.3* I just started learning to read from the Torah this year (not counting my bar mitzvah many years ago) and this has been an amazing help. The technology really comes through and it makes switching back and forth between the actual Hebrew and the trope + vowels incredibly easy. Some may balk at the price, but it is an amazing bargain n o matter how you look at it. First off, it is excellent software. Second, it is a fraction of the price you would pay for a paper tikkun. I mostly use the iPad version, but it includes an iPhone one as well, which is nice when I want to sneak in some practice when I don't have the iPad with me. Even has the haftorahs in Tikun format. One size fit for all devices; layout in iPad Pro is exact same as iPhone. Would be better if additional text (up to the full amud) was shown on larger devices. No option to increase or decrease font size as in other free apps available in the market. I have been teaching for 40 years and find it easy and precise. Well done. If someone writes its dissapointing then they should go buy a real Tikkun at 10 x the price and 20x the weight! ### 5/5 — Fantastic app for Torah readers *2019-12-26, version 1.8* I read Torah for my temple once a month and I rely on Tikun for iPad to help me learn and practice. I love the bookmarks and how the app works in both portrait and landscape modes (landscape shows both Torah and regular Hebrew views in 2 columns; portrait shows one column of Torah and regular Hebrew and lets you switch). Being able to swipe between pages is also very helpful. I am anxiously awaiting for it to support the 11” iPad. I bought one, found that Tikun’s portrait mode didn’t work on it, and returned it to Best Buy. The app is a bit pricey, however significantly cheaper than a real Tikun. ### 5/5 — Game changer *2017-07-07, version 1.5.7* Nothing beats studying from my Tikkun but since I travel a lot this app is far superior than carrying it with me. It is easy to use. Cost is the only downside, but for me it is more than with it. ### 5/5 — Excellent tikun app *2015-03-08, version 1.3.5* I have been using this app for over a year. The text is clear even on a small iPhone 5 screen, though better on the iPad. The screens present half of a standard tikun column in the most common Torah layout. Portrait mode shows only the Torah or annotated image, while landscape gives you both, fine on the iPad though too small to use on the iPhone. The app shows the "shvah nah" and "kamatz kattan". My only gripe is that switching between Torah text and annotated text in portrait mode takes 2 taps in exactly the right place-1 to show the menu, the second to switch images. I wish there were a single tap, as the app has for bookmarks. With that said, I use this all the time. ### 5/5 — Serves my needs perfectly *2014-08-13, version 1.3.5* I was initially hesitant to buy a second Tikkun program for my iPad because it was so expensive. But the other one didn't really look like the scroll. I bought this yesterday to work on Ekev. I am really pleased with it. It looks reasonable like the scroll and if I turn my iPad vertically I can see just one version and switch back and forth with the trop and nekudot. I don't need the audio files. I like that you can make it bigger if you need to. My actual Tikkun is very heavy and hard for me to hold to practice with. This is so much easier. Especially with the apparent demise of the Tikkun on the ScrollScraper site (which also printed the nekudot often unclearly), I needed something I could have with me. So I recommend it. Yasher koach! If there were a way to make it change the line endings randomly when you open it each time (so you don't get too dependent on the layout) it would be perfect, but that is a lot to ask. ### 5/5 — Excellent *2013-11-04, version 1.3.5* A wonderful app which I use frequently. ### 5/5 — Don't let the price fool you- Buy this app! *2013-04-30, version 1.3.4* Great app! Easy to use and suitable for all ages. For the same price of a bulky old school tikkun you can have an app that brings the reading to life. Reliable and helpful with tools to prep for a bar mitzvah or weekly use for a veteran Baal Korei. If u need it buy it! Another great job by Rusty Brick. ### 5/5 — Excellent app. Top marks. *2013-04-05, version 1.3.4* This is a really incredible, awesome app. It displays the text of the Chumash using a traditional Torah font as it would appear in a real synagogue scroll. It also has the Haftarot for each Parasha. Unlike some other apps which just display the Hebrew text like it was a book in a modern font, this app displays the text in a traditional font in the correct (traditional) way, i.e. it respects the traditional layout of the Hebrew text with major and minor paragraph divisions, large letters in the Torah, it lists the Parashiyot, with nikud and teamim, etc. The Hebrew looks amazing and incredibly beautiful on my Retina iPad/iPhone. There are several views of the text (with/without nikud and teamim) and there are different views in landscape/portrait mode. You can also buy audio recordings of the Parashiyot in Ashkenazi and Separadi traditions. The price is not expensive when you consider how much a printed Tikun costs! I love this app and highly recommend it to anyone interested in reading a Torah scroll or seeing how the Hebrew text is traditionally laid out. ### 5/5 — One “little” thing *2012-07-31, version 1.3.4* Update: the devs listened and added קמץ קטן! As a tikun, it now has everything I need. My one suggestion is that a multifinger gesture to switch between the Torah side and "cheating" side would be nice. Heck, since this is digital now, why not do some cool, out-of-the-box stuff. How about a tap-and-hold interaction that would reveal a magnifying glass to peek at a specific word. Or maybe a way to turn off the trope and vowel layers separately. Or a way to repaginate/re-lineify/re-columnerize it as a way to test myself in case the actual Sefer Torah happens to be different. Also, since the iPhone is so much smaller (especially the non-retina 3GS), landscape mode should have a way to not show side-by-side. Again, a two-finger swipe to toggle views would work. Just some random thoughts. :) But seriously, this is a great app. -------------------- Previous review: I just downloaded this, and so far it seems great. I really appreciate that it indicts שוא נע. My only complaint so far is that it doesn't also indicate קמץ קטן. But this will still be great for going over my leyning during my commute! ### 5/5 — Great value!! *2012-07-24, version 1.3.3* Excellent app especially on the iPad. Great for practicing anywhere. Ability to record and playback very useful. As another reviewer mentioned already, a brand new tikkun (in super clear typeset) costs at least $25+ at any seforim store.
