But it’s not clear why the app says location tracking has to be always on for full reimbursement of items(a privacy issue). Also, the Tile device with an always exposed button is a poor design, because it easily gets pushed inadequately in one’s pocket. ### 2/5 — Low battery warnings premature *2026-08-24, version 2.146.0* A few of my tiles have prompted me with low battery, replace tile warnings, but at least one of those has been like that for at least a year and is still working fine. This feels like a tactic to get users to buy new tiles prematurely and spend more than they need to. This morning you had the song working for finding my item going then in the middle of it you just switched to “notify when found” and I don’t have the option to play the tune again. You are now useless. I just need to keep playing the tune until I win this infernal game of hide and seek with myself and get to drive to work. I was riding my bicycle the keys fell and some young guy picked them up and took them home at that point no amount of tracing my steps would have solved the problem but Tile was able to access its broader network and pin point it to exact address I went there with police for safety but the retrieval was as simple as a handshake. If you can’t find your phone you could just double click the Tile on your phone.
