## Newest reviews (3 of 23)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with blinds

*2020-11-23, version 1.2.3*

The app doesn’t work with blinds

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly, latest firmware broke all

*2019-12-08, version 1.1.0*

No support answering chat and half the house not working. Worse yet, the brilliance of locking all devices in DEV mode if there is a failure.

### 1/5 — App needs fixed

*2019-10-28, version 1.0.5*

The app crashes constantly and when it isn’t crashing the Bluetooth disconnects all the time. Then you end up getting push notification of errors the app is having throughout the day. Not sure if these are issues unique with the new iOS as we just got out blinds installed.

The UI leaves a lot to be desired as well.

Will update my review when the app gets fixed.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Good blinds. Terrible App.

*2023-12-01, version 1.3.5*

Seems like the blinds can only be recognized and paired to one phone. This is terrible. Basically I will never be able to use the app because I’ve given control to my partner.

Why would they make the product this way?!

### 1/5 — Horribly buggy

*2023-02-19, version 1.3.2*

Setup using the Tilt Bridge was easy enough, but slow. When the app works, it works fine; UX is clunky but passable. Programmed routines run pretty well. However, changing routines remotely is a mess: when I am away from home and I open the app it usually cannot “see” the shades at first and takes several minutes to find them. Sometimes it never finds them and I have to return to the house and use Bluetooth to set them up all over again.

### 1/5 — Buggy app please fix

*2022-10-11, version 1.2.9*

Why is this app so bad. I have 4 blinds and they almost never all respond? I have to try for a minute or two and then eventual I can close or open all of them. So buggy! Please release and update and I will take down my rating. It’s been years!!

### 1/5 — App crashes on launch

*2022-09-30, version 1.2.9*

App crashes every time

### 1/5 — No support on weekends

*2022-09-03, version 1.2.9*

The name of the product has “home” in the title, yet they don’t work on weekends. Purchase two shades; one works great… the other nothing. Can’t get any help until they open; nothing. Terrible support

### 1/5 — Horrible product

*2022-07-26, version 1.2.9*

Expensive shades buyer beware. No refunds if they are custom and they do not work. I’ve tried on an iPhone and iPad. They’ll just string you along in thinking they are helping you but it’s just a scam. Reporting them to the BBB next.

### 1/5 — Not good. Wish I went with other blinds

*2022-07-01, version 1.2.9*

Pretty upset that I chose Tilt blinds. Wished I paid a bit more and went with blinds that had a better working mechanism and app. This app is so buggy and not only never tells me the correct battery life but also that it has to sync so you have to choose the room before using any automations. Customer service will pretty much blame you for not charging them correctly! I charge them for 24hrs and sometimes a bit more…that doesn’t solve the problem of a bad app and mechanism. I cannot believe the rep was raising her voice to me! I’d search elsewhere!

### 1/5 — Calibration mode doesn’t work

*2022-06-02, version 1.2.9*

This app has always been a little buggy, but has worked for the most part. However, recently I wanted to recalibrate one of my shades and when I did this, the app simply wouldn’t connect to Bluetooth in calibration mode even though it’s already a showing a connection via Bluetooth with all of the shades. Tried all of the tips recommended by Tilt customer service, but of course no luck. It’s an App issue. You can’t control the shade at all without it calibrated so my one blind is now unusable until it gets fixed. Based on recent reviews, it appears I’m not the only one with this problem.

DEV TEAM - please work on the App bugs ASAP!

### 1/5 — App won’t control the roller shades

*2022-02-21, version 1.2.9*

We just purchased smart roller shades from Tilt, but the app’s shade calibration process won’t complete, and we cannot use the app to make the shades go up or down. Without a way to control the shades, they are basically worthless.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work right

*2021-01-04, version 1.2.3*

Downloaded the app and it never let me past signing in.🤦🏻‍♀️
So frustrating

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great Application

*2025-09-27, version 1.3.10*

The app works just fine and has some nice features. If someone has a problem because of their hardware, they shouldn’t give the application a bad rating because of their hardware issue.

### 5/5 — Amazing product and support

*2020-05-14, version 1.2.0*

I have the roller shades and they’re simply the best on the Internet.

I had them custom made to fit a sliding door out to my porch. The experience was easy, support was responsive and the quality is fantastic. The shades have a built solar panel, which means no wiring or batteries (which is HUGE), they look beautiful, and they’re complete integrated with my Alexa - so I can say “Alexa, open/close my shade” and they go up/down. Talk about a wow factor! 😎

Even when I had a slight issue with an app update, the support team responded immediately and fixed the issue.

If you believe price is what you pay and value is what you get, then dollar-for-dollar this product is hands down the best currently available on the Internet - trust me, I looked.

I recommend them to everyone that asks how I’m able to control my shades with my voice.

### 4/5 — Great Product, Nearly Great App

*2021-05-12, version 1.2.4*

As for the app…Adding products worked flawlessly. Overall it is very user friendly and clean. Two suggestions, allow reordering of the shades list (mine are numbered and the first room I set up, I started with the middle shade and now my list is 6, 7, 8, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 9, 10). So I guess I’ll have to remove and re-adopt them in order (which I’m guessing means recalibration).

The other thing is that when I go to the list of shades in the room, the battery levels show lower than they should be. Then after tapping on an individual shade, the shown battery level will jump up. Seems to just be a slow data refresh, not a big deal but worth mentioning.

As for the shades and blinds, I cannot say enough good things. They look and feel like we spent 2 or 3 times the money we did. Could not be happier. Installation is super easy and operating is very straightforward.

### 4/5 — Be careful with Sign-in with Apple

*2021-03-08, version 1.2.3*

Update:
After contacting customer support, Tilt implemented the missing Sign-in with Apple/Google option when linking tilt to Alexa or Smartthings. Turned me into a happy customer.

App feature wise, you can use control your roller shades over Bluetooth easily. Automation only supports time or sunrise/sunset based trigger. Adding a weather option will be a huge plus. I’m able to use Smartthings to set up weather based rules. Quiet mode is really great and indeed a lot quieter, but it only works for automations created in the app, not routines. I assume 3p integration won’t support quiet mode as well.

### 4/5 — Needs Siri Shortcuts

*2021-01-01, version 1.2.3*

Works pretty well but please add Siri Shortcut support!

Full HomeKit support would be nice but I know that’s hard to do. Just adding Siri Shortcuts would be much simpler but would still be really useful (I’m an app developer). It would be great if I could trigger a routine without opening the app.

### 3/5 — Bluetooth connection is iffy

*2022-06-07, version 1.2.9*

When I first installed the app I spent several days trying to fix connection issues. The shade doesn’t work at all unless you can connect and calibrate it. After a few rounds of talking with support I was able to get it working but there’s room for improvement.

### 3/5 — Cheap/easy install. App is pretty buggy

*2022-01-24, version 1.2.7*

Budget smart blind and installation is pretty easy, but app is very buggy and shows cheaper price with no integration into google home or HomeKit. Debated between 2-3 stars, but gave it 3 because ultimately they will work, just not always easily.

Whenever I open the app it wants me to make a routine, but then has no save button for me to save the routine. I’m forced start and then cancel just to get to home screen so I can manually change individual blind. Loooong wait to get connection too. Sometimes it’s easier to just go and press the button on the blind.

Wondering if it was worth upgrading to a more expensive brand if it allowed less ux frustration.

### 3/5 — Annoying request to make schedule every time app opens

*2020-11-09, version 1.2.3*

Product is overall decent but every time I open the app, it requests to go through the tutorial to set up a schedule. I don’t need schedules and will set it up and then delete it in hopes of removing the tutorial request. However, it comes back when there are no schedules made.

Would be great if this could be addressed.

### 3/5 — Latest version definitely improves stability

*2020-01-13, version 1.1.2*

Upgraded from one star. Way less crashes and connection disconnects. Hooray!

Calibration was upgraded so you can skip to the particular thing you need to calibrate instead of having to do it all every time.

UX still leaves a lot to be desired (can't reorganize dashboard for starters) and the biggest missing feature is the lack of Google Home and Alexa integration. The shades have it but not the rollers. Once that's out I think it will be a 4 or 5 star product.

### 2/5 — Alexa???

*2022-10-23, version 1.2.9*

I’ve had the roller shades for just over two years. It’s always been a struggle bus. Link, unlink try again. Now I can’t get Alexa to work at all. Having ongoing problems getting the blinds to connect through the bridge as well. Meaning not only can’t I get Alexa to work. The app is iffy on multiple rollers.
I sooo want to unequivocally recommend.
