### 5/5 — Great for workouts & trips

*2025-08-27*

Love how this app automatically tracks my runs, walks and bike rides without me doing anything. I also use it to look back on trips - it almost like a travel journal. Super clean design to see both workouts and memories in one timeline.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Rip off

*2026-08-14*

I'm sorry. But this app. I'd a rip off. I use polar steps currently. And it does everything this does. And more. And it's free.

**Developer response:** Time Atlas is also free. Similar to Polar Steps, which is a great app, it has a paid Plus subscription. Time Atlas is for tracking everyday life, not only travels.

### 2/5 — cooks the phone up

*2026-05-14*

as much as i love the app, for some reason latest updates has this app cooking my phone up

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback 🙏! The previous update had a problem with how the app manages photos, which in rare cases caused excessive repetitive processing. It has now been fixed. Please update to version 1.2.2 or later. Hopefully you can keep loving the app 🙂!

### 2/5 — Battery drainer?

*2025-09-20*

I like the idea, but it's really just a battery drainer, isn't it? It's the only app out of thousands on my phone that has a consistent presence in my battery consumption section in settings 🤷‍♂️

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. To record a complete picture of your day, the app indeed needs to run in the background. We have developed the technology so that it minimizes the amount of time it runs GPS, it is run just enough to get a good understanding of the whereabouts of the user. The battery consumption percentage varies between users, typical is around 10-15%. We believe it is worth it, as you get a very precise understanding of your days' activity.

### 4/5 — Almost Perfect!

*2026-03-20*

Thank you Devs. Your app is really good. It checks all my boxes for used case the only problem which is a big one for me is the battery drain. Its uses too much juice. I hope there is a way to optimize this.

**Developer response:** Thanks for our kind words. There is now an "ECO mode" in the app (in the Settings), which allows you to trade less battery drain with less accurate tracking.

### 4/5 — App Struggling

*2025-09-11*

I think this App is struggling to get things right. It looks like they need to still roll out more updates to make this App Perfect it keeps saying App Inactive when it should be tracking Travel modes and places been. With more updates to stop the App Inactive coming up this will be a perfect App.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! For some users, whose other apps use a lot of memory, the Time Atlas app can get stopped in the background. We are working on some workarounds to keep it running more consistently.

### 5/5 — Simple life logging

*2026-09-05*

As someone who doesn't want to upload photos to social media to track where I've been this passive tracking on my day is appealing. And since it's just for me/is just on my phone I don't have to care about what I write about or whether I'll get any engagement

**Developer response:** Glad to hear you like it, SqrClouds 👏. Time Atlas is supposed to be primarily private to you, so no social media or engagement needed. You can have it entirely passive and automatic, but occasional customization and tune-up can be fun too 😊. Also, privacy is really important to us – we don't see any of your data, ever! ### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2026-08-29*

A superb way to keep track of all the places you've been.

**Developer response:** Glad you like it, roobin 😎! If you have any suggestions or feedback, let us know. Join our Discord to talk to us directly: https://discord.gg/zwJEYNdsPE.

### 5/5 — Great app for collating life’s important moments

*2026-08-19*

I’ve found this app great for recording a lot of life’s events. It’s great to recall visits and important events such as holidays and trips. The link to photos is also useful and I’ve also used it to remind me of the names of great cafes and and restaurants I have visited, particularly away from home when overseas. It also provides a useful summary of my exercise. It’s a great “journey journal” without having to keep and write a separate journal.

**Developer response:** Amazing 🤙! A "journey journal" is kind of what we're going for. We hope that Time Atlas can be an automatic journal, so you specifically don't need to maintain a separate one. A lot of improvements coming very soon – keep an eye out and let us know what you think. Join our Discord to talk to us directly: https://discord.gg/zwJEYNdsPE.

### 5/5 — use it every day!

*2026-08-15*

I loved moves as an app before it died and this has been a great replacement, no wonder since one of the moves co-founders is involved. I love how easy it is to use and how much the functionality is there to get in the weeds of the data of your day if you want to, or just let it run and get the bigger picture. So excited to see what happens as the app continues to develop!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the lovely words, Morgan 👋! We are moving pretty fast now and have big plans for the next few months – so stick around. You're already in our Discord but here's the link for anyone else reading this: https://discord.gg/zwJEYNdsPE.

### 5/5 — Great documenting app for memories

*2026-07-22*

The biggest challenge for me journaling is taking the time to remember what I did and putting it on paper. Since this is automated I can focus on journaling other things in my life. I do wish the journaling aspect is a little more robust but for what it offers, it will probably keep me more consistent on actually doing it.

### 5/5 — Life Tracking Done Well

*2026-07-07*

I have been looking for a long time for a frictionless way to record my life. I’ve tried DayOne, Path, Polar Steps, Fog of World… nothing stuck. Time Atlas was just what I needed and records what I want in a clear and simple way. Solid app and look forward to seeing it develop.

### 5/5 — Love this app! This really helps me recall my trip and the places I’ve been with detailed stats! 😊

*2026-06-10*

I’m visiting KTM, Nepal and seeing all the places I’ve been is fantastic! It’s actually amazing! I use the app daily! Especially more now since I travel. 📍✈️

I go on this app daily to see my past few weeks of where I’ve been and what I’ve done and it’s very nicely built / organized.

The fact that this has weather data, can see the steps and the map of where I’ve visited is absolutely amazing! The devs are super nice and they listen to feedback very well. All together a very fun app to recall any moment. Whether you’re travelling or you’re in your own city!

**Developer response:** Thanks for your kind words 🙏! We are happy you're getting benefit on so many levels. Good luck with your travels in Nepal!

### 5/5 — So so good. But might affect battery, and I’m a little wary of data privacy.

*2026-03-12*

The app is awesome. It’s beautiful. I love it. But, I feel like my phones battery is draining much faster since I installed it. I also am a little apprehensive sharing this much data with a 3rd party. I’ll use it for now!

**Developer response:** Thanks! Actually, you are not sharing any data with a third party -- it all stays on your device and iCloud. There is now an Eco Mode in the Settings as well for less battery drain.

### 5/5 — Such a great app

*2026-02-18*

I was looking for a location tracker app, but I found so much more here, the team listened to the users everywhere and implemented new awesome features and the already existing were improved in so many ways. It is an amazing app to remember my life, places, pictures, health stats and more in one single place effortless!!! Even the Journal function has a speech to text feature.

I am glad I found such a cool app.

### 5/5 — Finally a worthwhile replacement for the Moves app

*2025-10-06*

Works flawlessly, great app and UI, accurate tracking. Solid overall. And even supports importing all moves data

**Developer response:** Thank you for the feedback. The creator team of Time Atlas actually includes several Moves co-founders, and bringing Moves back was our first goal.
