Gets you by forcing you into making one, then charges you 20 bucks to keep it. Very scummy and a waste of time.

### 3/5 — Great Idea, Nice execution, BUT

The app is nice looking but the problem is it costs $20 to actually use. Which is definitely a bummer because I am in love with the idea of this app. Also for anyone who cares i’m pretty sure this app was 99% vibes coded, which doesn’t make it bad in any way, just something that you could probably make yourself, with enough credits.

On the “vibe coded” point, AI tools have been part of the development process, but Time Capsule has also taken a significant amount of hands-on work across the design, storage experience, reliability, privacy, testing, and all of the small details that make the app feel simple to use. The goal isn’t just to build something that can be recreated technically — it’s to make preserving important memories feel effortless and worth coming back to for years.

Really appreciate the thoughtful criticism. Feedback like this genuinely helps shape where we take the app next.

My friends and I were about to get a physical time capsule for graduation since all of the online apps seemed terrible and something that wasn’t fun but when I found this app, it totally changed everything. All of my high school graduation friends added our favorite memories, photos, videos from our high school graduation and now we’re waiting for our reunion to open. It can’t tell you how great this app was everything from the design to the functionality highly recommend!!

I did not expect to love this as much as I do. The concept is simple. You lock photos, videos, voice memos, or notes and open them on a future date. But the experience makes it feel special. The hold to seal feature is such a small detail, yet it makes the moment feel real and emotional.

What really stands out is the privacy. Everything stays on your device. No account. No cloud. No tracking. That alone makes it feel different from almost every other app.

I made one capsule for myself in five years and one for my best friend. Now I am genuinely excited for the day they unlock.

Clean design. Smooth animations. Thoughtfully built. This is one of those apps you actually keep.
