NEW!  "Time Master Client" companion app. How it works: the account owner sets up Clients, Projects, and Tasks in Time Master + Billing and pushes them to team members/subcontractors on Time Master Client. Those team members track time and expenses (and can optionally generate invoices) from the field, and it all syncs back to the main app for consolidated billing. Subscription-based.

OPTIONAL MODULES (one-time additional fee required as an "In App Purchase"):
- Invoicing: If you want to do billing directly from your iPhone or iPod Touch then look no further. The most powerful invoicing module built directly into Time Master. Professional PDF invoices can be emailed to the client, including your own logo.
- Synchronization: Wirelessly synchronize two or more devices. If you have an iPad and an iPhone and want to keep the data synchronized between the two devices, this is for you!

Time Master can track both time and expenses. You can track time using start and stop times, duration, and/or timers. All time entries are tracked for a single day, so time entries cannot be greater than 24 hours. It will allow you to time across days, for example if you start a job at 8 p.m. and finish at 2 a.m., it will have a duration of 6 hours.

Expenses can be setup for recurring fixed cost items, such as burning a CD, reimbursement of hardware items, or fluid things such as toll expenses, automobile mileage, etc.

Quick reporting can be done on the iPhone / iPad with the Reports function. The report can be emailed in an HTML and/or CSV format.

Adding new Clients, Projects, Tasks and Expenditures is super easy.  You can create them on the fly without having to navigate to a separate maintenance screen. To edit them you can tap on Setup, do you edit and then return to where you left off in Time Entries or Expenses. By selecting a Project or Task first will automatically fill in the Client field for quick entry.

Update4: Jun 26. Still using every day. Never crashed. Never failed or lost data. 

Update3: Jan 18. Still going strong. Still never crashed. Regularly updated. Have recommended it far and wide and all have been delighted. It does exactly what you want it to do with no fuss. Particularly pleased that it updated to ios11 so easily and I see it’s now iPhone X ready - but I have not tested that. 

Update2: Jan 17. Still using this day in day out. Has never ever crashed on me. Ever. Cannot recommend highly enough. 

Update1: I originally wrote the text below in April 2009 and because I have used the app to record my billing every working day since then (now Jan 2012) I just wanted to say that it really is a fantastic app. The developers also seem keen to continue working on it and I have never had any outage / problems in just under 3 years. As before, can't recommend highly enough. As before, I have never bothered to write a review about any other app! 

PS I've now scrolled to the bottom of the reviews it strikes me just how many others have said they don't write reviews but have for this product, and that others have been impressed with the developer support (the transatlantic phone call does not surprise me, see below). I should also say to Peter that you should persevere. You don't need any in-app purchases (I have none) and it is really intuitive just add your 1st entry with your 1st client, your 1st task, and start and stop time. Really is easy. 

---- i have a few iphone apps, this is the first time i felt moved to write a review. put simply, this is an excellent, easy to use, app that makes it super easy to record billing details 'on the go'. the interface is attractive and very easy to navigate. the reports (including by email) are generated without any hassle. what is more, the support i encountered was fantastic: i made one proposal to the team (allowing the export of start and stop time data) and it was implemented in the software within 3 days. can't recommend highly enough. el t.

I’ve been using this for my whole career to track time. While not perfect, it does 95% of what I need and does those things well. I see app was just updated - developer continues to work on it (and hope he continues to do so!)

Best app I have been using it for over a decade and it is simply awesome. However recently the email to client for invoicing and statements is failing. Thanks for the recent update to the app and ensuring it works with newer apple updates, that the app is kept up-to-date. I think the developer should consider moving subscription model to Fund updates.   THANKS YOU FOR FIXING THE “APPLE” ISSUE, It wasn’t your App is was an apple conflict after all.  Really appreciate you guiding a solution.

Emails to myself of invoices statements is working email to client failing.  Can you fix bug.  Maybe iPad and iPhone update is issue

I’ve written a review before several years ago and wanted to follow up with another review. 16 years of using this app and it still functions beautifully for my needs. While I work full time, I occasionally do freelance work on-the-side and this app  has been superb in allowing me to track my hours. I always set up a project as a ‘session’ so I can start and stop the timer as needed, and love that I can include notes after stopping the timer that will appear on the invoice as I enjoy giving my customers transparency into what I worked on during a time period.

I was hoping to get a calendar issue fixed (can’t seem to pick and keep the calendar selected for the entries to go to). There is no working link to contact On-Core Software LLC. There is a forum, but it’s not registering new users. The last post was November 2024 - not that long ago.

**Developer response:** In the built-in documentation it has links to email us.  E.g.  support@on-core.com

This is the first report I have of this and had to look into it.  Thanks for letting us know.  (Sorry I haven't checked "reviews" in a very long time).  The reason it may not be working correctly is that in iOS 17+, they require more "permissions" for the Calendar.  In the Settings app, go to Apps -> Time Master -> Calendar and give it Full Access.
