You can buy hints if you want, but you can get free ones, it depends how competitive you are. I just started this game and it’s not too easy which I love and even have puzzles along the way. The other games I after a week or two as it got harder, you couldn’t move on or sometimes not even able to play until you spent money, that’s when I would delete, others that were free were boring and way too easy for my taste. I’ve bought several over the years, and deleted most of them. Such a pain, and no fun. This game keeps you moving along with hints when you need them, and no dead ends (so far).It does end abruptly, which is unfortunate. But the visuals, the sound effects, and the challenging hidden objects make it worth a few dollars. It was very difficult to understand the words in the dialog boxes. What you called a machete was in fact a meat cleaver and what you called a coil was in fact a spool. You start then it guides you from place to place. At each you have a bunch of things to find. Ok, I understand, its a hidden object game, but really the genre has grown beyond that. The puzzles you encounter are so simple as to barely qualify. There's no finding items to use elsewhere. You don't even get to chose how you progress, it tells you where to go. But I persevered and reached the end only to find it doesn't really end so much as stop. Going from place to place then it just said "Congratulations. You followed the guys path and got trapped just like he did." Boom end. You have the option of going back to each location and finding more things to raise your score. There were no clear instructions on how to interact with the wires. Basically presented with a puzzle the penalises you every time you touch it. Lacks feedback. I stopped at this point. This game lacks polish. Even the written story text was clunky. I take a break from it for awhile, then go back, and it’s still challenging enough. As others have pointed out, some things are mis-named. New HO games that I’ve looked at are either too easy, have too much story line, or have too many ads. (Yes, I like my HO games to have minimal storylines.)
