## What is Time2Cook?

Time2Cook helps to remind you of the steps and timings when cooking a meal.

You can use Time2Cook for any type of meal, including Christmas Dinner, Thanksgiving, a dinner party, a Sunday Roast, or even something as simple as a fish pie. Time2Cook is designed to be simple and easy to use, even for those who are not comfortable with technology and may even be a little scared of using their iPhone!

You start by quickly entering a brief description of each cooking step and when it is due to happen. And then press "Go" and you will be sent a reminder for each step at the appropriate time.

Running early or late? Not a problem - you can quickly adjust all your meal timings forward or back by the appropriate amount.

Want to use your iPhone for other things while the meal is running? That's fine - the reminders will still work even when you are using another app or the phone is locked.

Need help getting started? There are four example meals included (Christmas Dinner, Dinner Party, Roast Dinner and Fish Pie). But it is worth pointing out that Time2Cook is NOT a recipe app - the examples are just outlines to get you started, and you will need to adjust the timings to suit your needs, especially for meat to ensure that it is cooked properly.

Want to repeat a meal that you've previously cooked using Time2Cook? That's easy - every meal is automatically saved for future use, and you can store as many meals as you want.

Other features include:
  * Time2Cook is a free app, so no need for you to pay anything.
  * Time2Cook has a timeline view that is easy to read and use.
  * Time2Cook allows you to enter cooking times directly, or calculate them relative to another step (e.g. "put oven on" 5 minutes before "put turkey in oven").

## Key features

- Step-by-step cooking reminders
- Customizable meal timings
- Adjust timings on the fly
- Background operation
- Automatic meal saving
- Timeline view

### 5/5 — Useful timer

*2022-07-21*

Each step can be adjusted individually or by pressing the adjust button, all steps are changed at the same time, useful with a recipe.
The developer was very quick to respond and answered my queries, highly recommended thanks

### 3/5 — Strong Potential

*2021-12-26, version 2.1*

Needs development. Alarms should connect with phone’s alarms instead of its own, which is weak. That would give option for better volume, different alarm, vibrate, and better volume. 12 hour time line option instead of only 24/military. Better contrast for top and bottom nav bars. Option to paste or type in side notes or menu to open in separate window. Date option for future as a separate entry. Used for Christmas meal and, for some reason, stopped working midstream. Probably something I tapped, but luckily had emailed and printed. An in-app print option would be helpful.

### 5/5 — Worked great!

*2020-12-04, version 2.1*

Used this on Thanksgiving to manage the schedule and dinner was on time with all the food hot and ready. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Works well

*2019-12-25*

I used this app today to cook Christmas Dinner and it worked very well, keeping me on track and ensuring I did not forget anything. I will use it again.

### 5/5 — Take the hassle out of Christmas

*2019-12-25*

Brilliant app, really made cooking Christmas dinner easy. I nearly always forget something but not with this app. I bought two other apps to do this job, but I shouldn’t have bothered as this was the best and easiest.

### 5/5 — Godsend for cooks

*2019-05-13*

Such a brilliant idea for people who cook according to times, but the 'Adjust' feature is a stroke of genius. You can move the meal start time backwards or forwards, and all the step times move relative to it. The 'Import' feature is handy too, so if you have plain text schedules for meals (I have loads), you just import them in by copy/paste, and the meal is added to the app's database.

Developer very quick to respond to a minor issue I had, and very approachable. In summary, this is a godsend for cooks who work to the clock, and if you have an Apple Watch, it's even better, because each step reminder comes to your wrist, so no need to even have your iPhone/iPad anywhere near the kitchen.

I'm using it for every evening meal now, and completely recommend it. Kudos to Chris the developer too for making this a free app, much appreciated.

### 4/5 — Not a bad little app

*2018-12-26*

Probably could become better over time, but this served me very well planning a Christmas dinner for 8 people and everything was ready spot on time. It took a bit of time to put in all the info and figure out the timings, but it definitely helped with the order of what needed to be put on and we didn’t forget about anything, which is usually the case 😉

### 4/5 — Tip top!

*2017-12-25*

Great little app! Just discovered this in time for cooking Christmas lunch for 10 - worked a treat :-)

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2015-04-10*

Fantastic app! I did my first ever Christmas dinner last year and could not have done it without this great app!! It's flexible, useful and gives you a good starting point before you add your own elements in.

### 5/5 — A Perfectly Timed Meal

*2013-09-03, version 1.1*

This app is a lifesaver for scheduling my microwaveable frozen "The Bomb Burrito". It was always such a challenge to know when to start microwaving based on the two minute cooking instructions. Now, thanks to Time2Cook, I know that I need to start two minutes before enjoying the beefy goodness inside that delectable burrito. Even when I decided to cook at 50% power and double the cooking time Time2Cook helps schedule my start four minutes before I want to eat. Absolutely amazing. Thanks Time2Cook.
