Very disappointed. *2018-04-23, version 28* This app does not work as expected. Have to select to continue receiving alerts. Fills phone with notifications **Developer response:** Hello Mrd5313: There is a new version on the App Store that fixes the problem. However, there is a system limit of 64 pending alerts so you will need to respond eventually to an alert to keep the timers working. So, you need to respond after: 64 hourly alerts, 64 half-hourly alerts, or 64 quarter-hourly alerts. Thanking you! Summitpoint Software Technical Support ### 1/5 — Beware *2018-04-19, version 28* This app makes you pay 3 tines. And nothing works other than the timer. When you try to set up an alert it crashes. Thanks for your business, and again, our apologies. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2018-02-16, version 25* Get notifications that the timer expired after the fact but don’t hear any sounds nor does anything pop up on the screen. I’m listening to music most all the time and I believe it’s supposed to over ride it. **Developer response:** Hello, and thanks for your concerns. Please be sure that you have Notifications set to "Persistent" for TimeChime and that you have selected a sound with the Sounds button in the app. Notifications will appear as a persistent banner when the timer expires but will not stay there if you have the default of "Temporary." Also, the "Sounds" switch must be turned on (Settings>Notifications>TimeChime. If you still have problems, please contact our support team at admin@summitpointsoftware.com. ### 1/5 — Rip off *2018-01-22, version 24* For 99 cents, you get some sort of timer. Then you need to pay more to get the screens that are shown in the product preview. **Developer response:** Hello, and thanks for your concern. We are continually updating and adding new features to TimeChime, so please check back on the App Store. The basic app gives you: hourly, half hourly, or quarterly alerts; four different selectable sounds; and alerts that appear on your phone when the timer expires. We have found that this suite of features is a good value for 99 cents. This is the ONLY app on the App Store that gives you all of these features at that price. We have in app purchases for people who want additional features and we don't believe in packaging all of these features into a single app at a much higher price. We do appreciate your feedback, but please search for other hourly chime apps and compare what you get (none of the others have half hour and quarter hour chimes, for example). I want my money back. ### 1/5 — Not what you see in the screen shots *2022-09-12, version 66* Don’t do it…even though its only 99 cents, things you see in the pics of the various screens are mostly “upgrades”, their way of getting more money for a very poor app. Was just looking for something simple for bell chimes every hour but this is not it ! The 2.4 out of 5 rating is real…actually its to high !! ### 1/5 — Changes sounds at 3 am!!! *2022-07-26, version 65* I selected the soft “electronic chime” sound to be played hourly. At 3 AM, the app switches to a loud “Big Ben” sound. I thought of upgrading the app, but the upgrade buttons don’t work. I tried to view the webpage at summit pointsoftware.com, but the page is not active. I had to request a refund. ### 1/5 — thieves *2022-04-24, version 65* worst app I've ever seen, they make you pay them 99 cents for later when you open the app they tell you that if you want all the features YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE, that's called ROBBERY **Developer response:** Please see the description on the App Store. Yes, if you want more, you pay more. Its the same for any app. ### 1/5 — Crap *2022-01-04, version 64* Crap save your money **Developer response:** Reviews like this are of no help to the developers or our many satisfied users. ### 1/5 — Disappointing yet they charge you for it *2021-03-31, version 61* I need only half hour chimes but can’t use them unless all of them are selected including quarter hour and an hour. **Developer response:** This is incorrect. Please see the following from the User Manual (ncsoftware.com/support): "Only one running timer can be chosen. If the timer type is set to 15 minutes, an alert will chime at quarter past, half past, quarter to, and on the hour. If the timer type is set to 30 minute, an alert will chime at half past and on the hour. If the timer type is set to 1:00, an alert will chime on the hour." ### 1/5 — Bait & Swtch *2019-12-30, version 50* For The dollar you spend, you can’t even make it chime at a specific time (ie the e top and bottom of the hour they make you pay more and more for functions to actually make the app work as promised. Don’t buy this unless you don’t mind being pummeled for more cash for more confusion. Shockingly, there is absolutely NO instruction in the basic paid app. I went to the site and am findings none of the promised videos except for one that only skims over the highest paid features. Thanks! ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — I read the instructions first - it works really well *2023-04-09* This is a great little app and I did not need the upgrade to get all I wanted for just $.99. As the app creators suggested, I went to their website and downloaded the instructions. I was especially cautious because of the low ratings (2.4). In the app, I first selected my Sounds by gong to Menu, Sounds, and selecting “electronic-chime,” which is a perfect, simple one-note chime. I used this for all 3 times (15,30,1 hr). Back on the main screen I chose 30 mins as the repeat chime interval. I now have a simple pleasant reminder tone every 30 mins. I’ll use Focus so it won’t go off overnight. If at any point I become concerned about running low on my cycle of 64 chimes, I can simply start fresh again in 3 seconds: I press Stop, select my time (eg 30 min) and press Start. It even saves the Sounds from my previous entry so I do not have to select Sounds again. **Developer response:** Thank you for your very helpful review. ### 5/5 — Bad reviews! *2020-06-25, version 55* I personally love this app! I don’t understand the bad reviews. It’s so simple: choose a sound with the “SOUNDS” button; choose a 15 minute, 30 minute, or hour interval; hit “START TIMER.” You will get a notification EITHER on your iOS device OR on your Apple Watch. You don’t need to respond. The app will keep notifying you at the selected interval: at quarter past, half past, or on the hour. This app is NOT a timer, so it won’t notify you at 15 minutes from the time you start it, but rather at quarter past, half past, quarter to, and on the hour. All of this is FREE! You only have to upgrade if you want more sounds, want to see when the alerts are scheduled, or want to precisely set which day(s) and hour(s) you want alerts. ### 5/5 — Works again. —— Used to work *2019-12-03, version 50* Edit 12/3/2019: After some troubleshooting with the developer, TimeChime is working once again. Thank you to whoever spent the time to help me resolve this issue. I’m assuming it stopped notifying my Apple Watch when iOS 13.1.3 came along, but with iOS 13.2 now here, shouldn’t it be working completely now? I use it for the hourly watch notifications- that’s the ONLY reason why I use it. And it used to work great, I even paid for it because it worked so well! Now it won’t vibrate any alert on the watch which makes it completely useless. It’s frustrating when I even submitted a trouble ticket to their support and hear nothing back from them. What’s going on? Any fix/update coming? It would be 5-stars if it was working. ### 5/5 — Chimes on Apple Watch! *2019-11-06, version 50* I can’t say enough good things about this app. I spent a lot of time looking for a chimes app that would work on my Apple Watch. (Getting tapped on the wrist is *much* more useful for chimes than constantly having a loud noise coming out of your pocket. Ask my wife.) I couldn’t find one. I also wanted it to be able to signal quarter-hours. Almost all the others (with the exception of Westminster Chimes, which I used for a while before I found this) only worked on the hour. So I was delighted when I finally found this app. It does everything I want, and does it well. (I eventually learned that the reason why there weren’t others that worked on the Watch was technical: iOS just doesn’t support it. This one only works because the developer came up with an ingenious workaround.) But wait: There’s more. If you spring for two in-app purchases, you can choose unique sounds for the hour, half-hour, and quarter hour *and* set an hour-by-hour chiming schedule for each day of the week. (Westminster doesn’t have unique sounds, and can only set one hourly schedule for the entire week.) Both of these make it much more powerful and are well worth it. BTW, if you have it installed on the iPhone *and* the watch, it notifies you on the Watch (and not the noisy phone) if the phone is closed—exactly the way you’d want it to work. And…the developer supports it! I reported a glitch right after I started using it, and he had a new version out to fix it in a few days. Again, if you have an Apple Watch and any interest in chimes, this is the one for you. ### 5/5 — Worked for me *2018-11-19, version 44* Had some issues setting it up and getting it to work on my Apple Watch., but after a few emails with the developer it is now working great. Great customer support and very good app ### 5/5 — Works great now! *2018-07-07, version 40* I searched the app store for an app that would make a chime sound on the hour and half hour. I had trouble finding one. The ‘Time Chime’ app performs this functionality (as well as every 15 minutes, if you so desire)! Also, with the recent enhancement that the developer put in, this app allows for a ‘Unique Sound’ for each part of the hour. This allows you to tell which chime just occurred without looking. It even has a ‘Big Ben’ chime option. I can’t speak highly enough about this developer. He is very responsive and assists in the resolution of any problems! I would give this app a 10 if I could! ### 5/5 — Timechime *2016-11-02, version 1.0* Timechime is a very useful app. I use it when needing an audible reminder for 15 minute increments on my phone. A simple yet effective way to keep myself on task. We really appreciate your feedback! ### 3/5 — Good, but sounds don’t always work right *2022-05-09, version 65* The app has the features I want, ability to hear a sound on the half and full hour, it also lets you set it up on the quarter hour. You get to select the sounds you want for each time frame. I chose one set of sounds, and they worked. Then I changed to another set of sounds, and it was as if they didn’t save, and it kept playing the old sounds. This seems to vary whether I’ve selected the quarter hour or the half hour as my chime times. **Developer response:** If you want to change to a different set up sounds, you must first stop the timer. The app does not allow sound-switching on the fly, as that is not how it is architected given the way that Apple handles timers. ### 3/5 — Like it when it works... *2018-05-03, version 29* It works fine when it works... But it’s frustrating having to keep hitting continue for it to keep working. I’ve read some of the reviews, did the persistent and added sound. But it still stops after awhile. Dev. is there any other tips to keep the App going on its own.
