However there’s not enough free options to even get a feel for wanting more from a premium version. Even then there’s not a lot of customization that can be made. It’s very limited it needs a lot of work honestly. Developers of this app need to give MORE fee options because forcing a new user to instantly switch to pro because you lack free variety outside of color variations is unacceptable. ### 4/5 — Great but need improvements *2026-06-26* This app works really good for what it is! Free selection is very very limited. I don’t understand why every app has to be a subscription. I can do that but using the Apple weather widget. **Developer response:** We have a bunch of free widgets. And now they add a subscription plan and half of the app I have paid for is now unavailable. Wtf ### 1/5 — Edit: Shoutout Dev *2025-12-25* UPDATE 2: Developer has again REMOVED widgets that were in the original paid version of this app. I don’t understand why I need to buy a subscription to something I ALREADY PAID FOR. UPDATE: Shoutout the developer on this one. They have updated the app to restore the original widgets without the subscription fee. Great communication and appreciate you listening to your users. OLD REVIEW: After purchasing the app + widgets they have updated the app to be a subscription model and all the previous widgets are locked out unless you pay monthly or yearly. There is no such thing as a free lunch, but €18 a year for a widget app that basically adds nothing new to the equation besides some new paint is just way to expensive. ### 1/5 — Beautiful but Expensive *2025-07-16* I’ve been using Timedash widgets for years, and one day my widget went dark, and to now see a few pieces of data in a cute little bento box design I’m asked to pay $16 a year. 👀 I get it we all want to make money from the things we create but a one time fee for this app would be reasonable at $16 but yearly. 🫠 Maybe sell it flat and when you do massive updates charge a few $ to update if people want other colors or whatever but monthly and yearly subs and fees are exhausting for people to deal with and keep track of, oh well. Just check them out in the gallery under 'classics'. If you're unable to locate your old widgets please get in touch via the app or email (info@timedashwidgets.com) so we can properly assist you. We completely rebuilt (and designed) the app from the ground up, and are introducing new data-points and widget designs to choose from on a regular basis. Maintaining the app, keeping it up-to-date for all users and devices, and providing accurate weather data brings costs. This is why the new more advanced widgets and customization are included in the new pricing. But you don't have to upgrade and you keep using you classic widgets completely free because you upgraded from version 1. Was a great and simple app before. **Developer response:** All functionality of 1.0 is available for FREE in the updated version. See for the ‘classic’ widgets in the widget gallery, they are there and are free for you because you upgraded from 1.0. You don’t have to take a subscription. If you can’t find the old widgets please contact us through email. I love how I can build my own widgets like Lego blocks—mix time, weather, steps, date, pick any colors. I use it daily on my lock screen, so I don’t need to open other apps just to check humidity or my step count. The design is clean and not overwhelming. It’s become one of my essential apps.
