### 4/5 — Trop cher

*2025-07-28*

### 5/5 — Great Tool

*2024-04-11*

I have stopped using my other timegrapher completely. This does everything I need to adjust and regulate my watches. I use it with the Apple Earbuds and ot works great.

**Developer response:** Thanks and glad you like the app!

The use of the external headset microphone is recommended. For very loud/vintage watches the iPhone internal microphone can work as well - ensure a distance at least an inch between the watch and the device.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2024-04-09*

Finally a time graph that works!!! I couldn’t be more pleased with this app. Worth every penny. I’ve been a watchmaker for 35 years and this might be the handiest tool to come along in decades.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Worth it!

*2024-03-15*

Well worth the cost. I was immediately able to regulate an NH36 movement (Seiko) that I got in a watch from AliExpress. When received the watch was measured at running +46 seconds a day, lol. It’s now running +-5 seconds a day.

Also, the developer has posted a very good video on YouTube on how to use the app.

**Developer response:** Thanks! Glad you like it!

### 5/5 — Updated review

*2023-12-18*

I was originally annoyed at the pricing model and still believe the developer should be more clear. The Pro version is $60.

But that’s where the annoyance stops. This app is rock solid and extremely accurate. A quiet room is all that’s required… and it can even tolerate a little background noise.

Note to Developer: although the app still runs flawlessly, it’d be great to feel a little love from time to time to let us know you’re still around :)

**Developer response:** Thanks for the updated review. Much appreciated! A minor update coming in January.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2023-09-16*

Worth every penny of the cost. Works great, even with the phone’s built in microphone (but be careful not to magnetize your watch with your phone speakers). Very versatile and seems very accurate and consistent. Allows for adjusting parameters including lift angle, or you can use the app defaults. Very happy with this app!

**Developer response:** Thanks and glad you like the app!

The use of the external headset microphone is recommended. For very loud/vintage watches the iPhone internal microphone can work as well - ensure a distance at least an inch between the watch and the device.

### 5/5 — Easy and It Works

*2023-02-19*

I just got a used older automatic watch to learn how to work on watches as a hobby. As is, it was running 5 minutes ahead every day. I needed something to adjust it, but didn’t want to spend the $200 or so for the standalone equipment, or even $50’ish for a Chinese knockoff. After watching some “how-to’s” on You Tube, I got this app and got my unopened and almost forgotten Apple earbuds out of the iPhone box. The app picked up a weak signal right away, and had a strong signal after I got the microphone into a good position. It automatically determined my watch settings. As I worked, the graph display immediately told me if I went the wrong way or too far. In 5 or 10 minutes I got the errors down to below 5 seconds a day, mind you, a beginner working on such a small scale for the first time, with the final adjustments essentially too small for me to see. A day later the watch is still running within a few seconds of my iPhone clock. Now I can buy a few more watches to fix up, wear, and keep adjusted, in no small part because of the low cost of this app. Very, very cool… and fun too… Thank you for this app.

**Developer response:** Thank you! Glad you like it!

### 5/5 — È arrivato il momento di una revisione?? Scopriamolo

*2023-01-06, version 1.1.3*

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2022-12-12*

Great app with great functionality by the wired headphones

**Developer response:** Thanks! Glad you like it!

### 5/5 — Excellent program.

*2022-10-06*

I’ve struggled with other apps that are either too sensitive or not sensitive enough and that can take a lot of time to get a useful measurement. Timegrapher solved those problems, and I am more frequently regulating my watches because of its ease of use and the good results I get.
It is important to use the microphone on a pair of wired buds. I used small strips of gaffer’s tape to hold the microphone to the back of the watch. The app developer recommends placing it on or next to the crown.
Avoid using the phone’s built-in microphone since your results will not be good and since the magnetic field of the phone speakers next to the built in mic could magnetize parts of your movement.

**Developer response:** Thank you! We have posted a video showing different ways of using the mic at https://timegrapher.app

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-10-04*

Not working on iPhone 15pro. Zero stars. I tried Korg external mic and Apple headset. Mic setting in app goes back to internal; doesn’t see external mic. $30 down the drain.

**Developer response:** Please take a look at the detailed docs and videos available at https://timegrapher.app

If you have any specific questions, email us at apps@onyx3.com

### 1/5 — Amplitude missing

*2025-06-04*

This app doesn’t show me the Amplitude, which is the only reason to get it really. The daily deviation in accuracy can be measured other (cheaper) ways just as good. I feel kind of scammed

**Developer response:** Please see the docs, at least the Quick Start and Levels of Detail articles - stable amplitude readout requires strong signal. With any specific issue, please contact us at apps@onyx3.com and if still not happy with the app, request a refund.

### 1/5 — Does not work with iOS 18.1

*2024-11-16*

$30 for a useless app. Stopped work completely after iOS 18.1 update. Never worked with a wired headset in any iOS. Inaccurate.

**Developer response:** The app does work with iOS 18.1. All iPhones work with wired EarPods. Apple offers both Lightning for older models and USB-C for newer models.

Timegrapher X is specifically designed and optimized to work with the Apple EarPods' headset microphone, please find a *genuine* one and give it a try.

Should you have any issues, contact us directly at apps@onyx3.com

### 1/5 — Impossible to use with new iPhones

*2024-11-04*

It relies on the old wired headphones. The newer iPhones use wireless headphones and they don’t work when not in ears.

### 1/5 — Apparentemente non funziona…

*2024-09-01, version 1.1.5*

### 2/5 — Something fishy here

*2025-06-06*

Idk what these reviews are on about but this app doesn’t work very well. Can’t seem to get anything I try to regulate to be anything close to what it says. And even if I’m a sound proof studio room I couldn’t get it to get a stable accuracy. Just constant drifting. I would give it 1 star but maybe it’s just the new iPhone mics or something that’s no longer compatible (wild guess). Spend an extra hundred on a timegrapher.

**Developer response:** Hi, sorry for the issue you have experienced. Please see the demo videos and docs at https://timegrapher.app/

Please contact us with your specific setup, watch brand, movement etc, so we can assist you further: apps@onyx3.com

### 2/5 — Paid

*2024-03-09*

I paid £29.99 for the app only to find you want yet another £29 this seems a little steep as i have other timegraphers that are no where near that price at £29 would be acceptable

**Developer response:** The Pro upgrade adds unique features such as long term testing and data export. Yes, it is a paid upgrade, this is clearly stated on both website and App Store. The upgrade price is displayed on the App Store, and you can see it before downloading the app.

We put a lot of effort into making Timegrapher X the best watch timing solution available. Please give it a try and If don't you find the app useful, please request a refund.

With any questions, please contact us at: apps@onyx3.com

### 3/5 — Great idea, not accurate

*2025-04-17*

I have a watch that I've tracked over many days as running around 14 seconds fast per day. This app reads +3-4 seconds for the beat rate. So it's quite inaccurate.

**Developer response:** A mechanical watch's accuracy rate is not constant. It can vary depending on build quality, watch position, mainspring tension and even temperature. Timegrapher X helps you find, observe and understand rate fluctuations that develop over time. Please take a look at the docs, specifically the “relative watch regulation” article. If you decide the app is of no use to you, request a refund. If you have a specific question, contact directly at apps@onyx3.com

### 3/5 — Pricing not clear… the pro version is $60

*2022-12-27, version 1.1.3*

If you’re thinking that this is the pro version because of the $29.99 price, you’re wrong like I was. It’s another $29.99 for the upgrade.
Some developed post a free version with in-app upgrade and an upgraded version you can buy outright from the App Store. This appeared to be the ladder but I was wrong.
Ugh.. would not have purchased. Good app but not worth $60.

**Developer response:** Glad you think it is a "good app" ;) Sorry that you are not happy with the pricing.

Please note that the app description clearly states that the Pro version is in-app upgrade, and you can see the price for the in-app upgrade right on the app store.

If not satisfied for any reason, please request a refund. If you have any questions: apps@onyx3.com

### 4/5 — Honestly pretty good

*2025-09-06*

Better than I expected it to be. I used it with the headset it said to use, and I was able to get an accurate reading from my ST1901 which I knew was very off at about +13 s/d. I tried to use it with my Navitimer B01 and had a little trouble since it was so quiet and the signal was somewhat noisy, but it still did a decent job and gave me a good readout with very reasonable result. I’m pretty happy with my purchase as I don’t need incredible accuracy, but just want to be able to tell if my Navitimer should ever go in for service early. Thanks!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2025-04-19*

App works great with the lightning dongle and 3.5mm headphones. Versus paying for a physical tool that will someday end up in a landfill, I appreciate using hardware I already own. Nice app, keep it up. 👍🏻

**Developer response:** Glad you like it!

### 5/5 — Perfect and dead accurate

*2025-03-04*

Would love to see some more love from the dev. It’s not cheap.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the updated review. Much appreciated! A minor update coming in January.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-01-27*

Very good App that does the same as the typical hardware tools. I wanted to check and adjust my mechanical watch but didn’t want to buy an extra timegrapher hardware tool for more than 100 EUR
as it would only be occasionally used. Although the App recommends to use an Airpod as a microphone just slightly pushing the the crone of the watch to the phone’s microphone just worked for me. Reliable and even there was a hit of background noise in the room it measured very stable. 100% recommendation. Not a cheap app but well worth it.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review and glad you like the app!

Note on using internal mic. A very close proximity to phone’s built-in speakers may magnetize the watch under test. Try to keep a distance of at least 2-3 cm between the watch and the device.

### 5/5 — Easy to use!

*2024-12-11*

I am quite impressed with this app so far. In a quiet room I was able to get some solid data and improve the accuracy of my Seiko from -7s/d to +3s/d. I’d be really interested to compare date from a standalone time grapher, but alas I do not have access. I also really appreciate that this developer collects zero data, and has one of the best privacy policy’s I’ve ever read. A breath of fresh air

**Developer response:** Thank you so much!

### 5/5 — Ottimo

*2024-11-21, version 1.1.5*

### 5/5 — Great tool, near perfect if used well

*2024-10-13, version 1.1.5*

I was skeptical, but this timegrapher app is well worth its price. Just make sure to use it in a reasonably silent place (some noise won’t disturb it, but will affect its sensitivity), and to use the microphone from wired headphones, so you can really put it in contact with the watch without risking to magnetize it. On many watches, the phone microphone from a couple for centimeters of distance will work well too in a silent room. Measurements are accurate and reproducible, and definitely enough to regulate a mechanical watch at home to a good precision, or to check the general health of a mechanism before you buy it. A real timegrapher will be even better, but this app does work surprisingly well.

### 5/5 — Best of all the watch timers for regulation

*2024-06-29*

I’ve tried most of the common watch timers for the iPhone and this one is by far the best. If you want a real tool to do watch regulation, this is the one to get. (P.S. I never write iPhone app reviews.)

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2024-05-28*

Works exactly as it is described and is extremely accurate. Was easily able to regulate an ETA 2892 (Omega Seamaster 300) quickly and reliably.

**Developer response:** Thanks! Glad you like it

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2024-04-13*

Extremely good product. Been running it on my iPad with the watch and microphone in a drawer to reduce noise. Just wished it would stretch on the iPad display.

**Developer response:** Glad you like it! Native iPad UI is in the plans for possible future implementation.
