I’ve hit 20k on range and it reaches the same as 200k. It was already steep — $5,000 to build a mid-level account, which is an obscene price of admission for a mobile game. Then the August 2026 update gutted the handful of free rewards that gave free-to-play players any foothold at all. Those small drops weren’t generosity; they were the bare minimum resources needed to actually play. Now they’re gone. What’s left is a paywall with a game attached. Want to beat a level? Pay them. Want to beat the next one? Pay them again. The loop isn’t “play, improve, progress” — it’s “spend, spend, spend.” And the price doubled. That mid-level account is now a $10,000 climb. Here’s the part that stings the most: even after you spend it, you will never catch the long-term players who earned their accounts back when the game still gave something back. You’re paying five figures for permanent second place. Don’t kid yourself about the competitive side, either. Guild Wars is decided before it starts — you are not beating Weir, NFG, or Odyssey, and they’re only a few of them. Arena and Race are the same story: those players will simply outspend you, from accounts you already couldn’t catch. Every competitive mode in this game is a wallet-measuring contest with a leaderboard attached. If you’re rich and you want a pretty timesink, come on in — you’ll have a fine time buying your way toward a top spot you still won’t reach. If you’re not, save yourself the stress and the money. There are dozens of games out there that treat free-to-play players as real players instead of unpaid scenery. Go find one of those.
