## What is Timelines Time Tracking?

Timelines is an easy-to-use yet powerful time tracking app that helps you understand how you spend your day, improve your productivity, and build better habits. Track work, personal activities, health routines, and daily habits in one place, then visualize your time with an interactive timeline and charts to uncover patterns and make the most out of your time.

I personally wasn't happy with the way I was spending my time, so I decided to build a tool to help myself and others figure out a way to become more efficient. Timelines has been enabling me and other users to understand where our time is actually going, helping us improve our routines, build better habits, increase productivity, and achieve more in our personal and professional lives. I sincerely believe it can do the same for you.

### 5/5 — The Only Habit I’ve ever Kept

*2026-08-08, version 4.3.2*

Every other system I’ve built for myself, I’ve had to fight to keep alive. Timelines is the first system that’s so low friction (especially with the Apple Watch) that I’ve used it enough that it actually tells me the truth about my life, and forces me to come to terms with some of my worst habits (going to bed at 4am after internet use, avoiding hard work and socializing during times when I should be heads down). Every day I can look in the mirror and see where my time went, and while I’m not perfect yet, I’d be right back living in squalor if not for Timelines team building the best mirror into myself the world

### 5/5 — Keeps me on track

*2026-08-02, version 4.3.2*

I use Timelines every day. It helps me think about how I spend my time. I can change things to create better habits. I am creating a balance between efficiency with certain tasks, but allowing flexibility for things that require more thoughtful and deliberate attention. I am also using this Timelines app with other health related apps to make sure I alternate between sedentary and more physically active tasks.
Timelines is easy to use.

### 5/5 — So easy to use!

*2026-08-01, version 4.3.2*

An app like this, if it’s not easy, then using it becomes a chore. But this is SO easy, and provides helpful statistics in easy to read graphs (although pie charts aren’t useless for anything imo).

I added the list of job codes for my work, when I start one I simply tap it from the widget on my home screen and it starts the clock; if I forget to start or stop the timer, or change to a different job code, editing it is a breeze.

Then, at the end of the week I export to an Excel template where I have formulas to reformat the data so I can copypasta into my time card.

My only feedback would be to add more options for export formatting so I don’t need to use Excel to reformat to match my time card software’s formatting.

### 2/5 — Struggling as a newbie

*2026-08-01, version 4.3.2*

Not intuitive so far as a first time user

### 5/5 — Great tool for time tracking

*2026-07-31, version 4.3.2*

Easy to use

### 5/5 — Loyalty means nothing, apparently.

*2026-07-28, version 4.3.1*

I’ve been paying for this app for years because it did exactly what I needed. Today I opened it to log my walk and discovered a core feature I rely on (basic use of the app, really) is now locked behind a subscription that costs almost twice as much as what I’ve been paying.

No heads-up. No transition period. No grandfathering for long-time customers. Just “pay more or lose functionality.”

Companies have to raise prices sometimes— I get that. But nearly doubling the cost without warning (3.99/mo to 7.99/mo) and interrupting your customers’ day to pressure them into upgrading is a terrible way to treat the people who’ve supported your app for years.

I’ll be looking for another app. There are plenty of time trackers out there, and customer loyalty should count for something.

### 5/5 — Easy

*2026-07-23, version 4.3.1*

It’s really simple to use and I like all the functions, ease to export csv and load into Ai to analyse the data for me

### 5/5 — Great and very customizable

*2026-07-22*

It has everything you need. Was looking for something like that a long time. Love the simplicity of using it and all the customizations you can make. Theres always room for more but definitely a 9/10

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2026-07-21, version 4.3.1*

This app is exactly what I needed. Simple to use and has the features I need. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Almost great

*2026-07-19, version 4.3*

Love that you can set up subcategories. But…I want to see trend lines (line charts, not bar charts).
I want a full tree of activity (sub-sub cats, etc.)
I want to do like I can with Fitbit and shift from day to week to month to year to total timeframes.
I want to see subcategories as well as top level categories.

Basically I want to see how I’m changing over time.
I want to see correlations between activity and outputs like Vo2max and activity. I want to add medical test results and correlate them with activity. Overall, a good start!
I want prizes so I can try harder.
I want to compete with others.
I want to be able to say “I did this for this period) without having to let a clock run for that interval when I forget.
