## What is TimeLocked?

Lock a password, a code or a card PIN away from yourself. It opens only after the wait you chose — an hour, a day, a week. No friend needs to hold it for you.

HOW IT WORKS

Name it, put the thing in, pick the wait. When you want it back, ask: the wait starts then, and the entry opens when it's over. Lock it again and the next time waits too. Nothing opens immediately — that's the point.

The wait is timed by Apple's iCloud servers, not by your phone's clock. Make it longer whenever you like and it applies at once; make it shorter and the new length only takes effect once the old one has passed.

WHAT PEOPLE LOCK AWAY

• A social media password, right after changing it
• Recovery codes and backup codes
• A card PIN or a card number
• The login for a shop or a game
• Photos you keep going back to
• A seed phrase — keep your own offline backup too. TimeLocked is a delay, not a backup.

WHAT IT PROTECTS — AND WHAT IT DOESN'T

TimeLocked protects you from you: from the version of you who wants it back at 2am. It is not a safe against someone else. Anyone who can unlock your iPhone can open what's past its wait, unless you add a master password.

We have no server of our own and can't read what you lock — so we can't open it for you either. Keep an offline copy of anything you can't afford to lose.

WHERE YOUR THINGS ARE KEPT

What's inside an entry is encrypted with AES-256-GCM the moment you save. Entries and their waits live on this phone and in your private iCloud. The name you give an entry is not encrypted, so don't put the password itself in the name.

Photos and voice notes aren't synced to iCloud: deleting the app deletes them, unless you restore from a device backup. For an entry that's in iCloud, deleting the app doesn't end the wait — the key stays in your Keychain and the clock is Apple's. With iCloud sync off, entries aren't synced either — but every wait still needs your iCloud account: each request to open and each time check is a small record in your private iCloud, with nothing of what you locked in it.

The app opens with Face ID or your iPhone passcode, and you can add a six-digit code of its own. A master password takes the key out of iCloud and puts it behind a password only you know.

FOR THE MOMENT ITSELF

The Pause tab is for what you're about to do: a purchase, a message you'd regret, anything else. Send a link straight in from Safari or a shop with the Share button. It waits as long as you chose, then comes back and asks whether you still want it. What you let go is counted, with the money you didn't spend.

Write a few words to your future self while your head is clear. The letter is encrypted and travels with the entry; a voice note isn't synced to iCloud.

PREMIUM

Premium adds two things: closing the apps you pick while something waits — or every night on your schedule — and keeping more than three things in the Vault. Screen Time does the closing on your phone; TimeLocked never sees which apps you use, only the ones you pick. Every wait length, and opening what you locked, stays outside Premium.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions after purchase. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

## Frequently asked questions about TimeLocked

### What can TimeLocked lock away?

TimeLocked can lock away various digital items such as social media passwords, recovery codes, card PINs, shop or game logins, photos, and seed phrases. It's designed to protect you from your immediate impulses to access these items.

### How does TimeLocked ensure the waiting period is accurate?

The waiting period is timed by Apple's iCloud servers, not your phone's clock, ensuring reliability. You can extend the wait time at any point, and it applies immediately. Shorter wait times will only take effect after the current one has passed.

### Is TimeLocked a secure way to store sensitive information?

Yes, data stored in TimeLocked is encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Entries and their waiting periods are stored on your device and in your private iCloud. For enhanced security against others, you can add a master password.

### What happens if I delete TimeLocked?

If an entry is synced to iCloud, deleting the app does not end the wait, as the key remains in your Keychain and the clock is managed by Apple. However, photos and voice notes are not synced to iCloud and will be deleted with the app unless restored from a device backup.

### Does TimeLocked have ads?

No, TimeLocked does not contain advertisements. The app is free to use with optional premium features available through subscription.

### What are the premium features in TimeLocked?

Premium features include the ability to automatically close selected apps while something is waiting or every night on a schedule, and to store more than three items in the Vault. These features enhance your ability to manage app usage and storage.

### How much does TimeLocked Premium cost?

TimeLocked Premium offers a 1-month subscription for $2.99 and a 1-year subscription for $19.99. Both plans include a 14-day free trial period.

### Can TimeLocked protect me from someone else accessing my data?

TimeLocked primarily protects you from yourself by creating a delay. While it encrypts your data and can be secured with a master password, it is not a safe against someone who can unlock your iPhone unless you implement the master password feature.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.5 — 2026-11-04

TimeLocked now opens with Face ID or your iPhone passcode as soon as it holds something. A six-digit code of its own is an option, offered once.

The app is clearer about where your things are kept. What's inside an entry is encrypted; its name isn't. Photos and voice notes aren't synced to iCloud, so deleting the app deletes them unless you restore from a device backup. An entry in your iCloud keeps its wait even if you delete the app.

There's no longer a limit on how many things you park through the Pause tab.

Panic Mode is gone. Settings has Rate TimeLocked and Write to the developer instead of the old feedback form.

Share usage analytics in Settings turns analytics off, and analytics never sends titles or what you lock.

If you subscribed during early access, the app now says that your subscription keeps renewing, shows where to manage it, and lets you ask Apple for a refund.

On a new iPhone, the app waits for iCloud before reading your key instead of making a new one.

### 2.4 — 2026-10-29

Ready for iPhone Duo: on its shorter screen, the plans now sit right under the title, above the button.

TimeLocked Premium is back for new installs: hold as many decisions at once as you need and lock the apps while they wait — monthly, yearly, or once for life. If you were here during early access, nothing changes for you: every feature stays open, nothing to buy.

### 2.3 — 2026-10-15

Locking something away is quicker the first time. Only what you're locking is required now — leave the name blank and the entry is named by its date, never by what's inside. Your first entry shows just the field and the pause; the rest arrives with the second. And the screen suggests what to put in by what you said you wanted a pause from.

Small visual fixes in the vault list.

### 2.2 — 2026-09-07

Now it asks why. Parking something takes one more step — a line about why this has to wait — and that line comes back to you in your own words at the moment you'd open it early.

The waiting screen knows what it's looking at: how long you've held this, and whether this is the first time you've come back tonight or the third. Deleting an entry mid-wait now says what it really is — the one way around the pause.

The You tab is sorted: what you kept, what the pauses did, and what you've earned. The money not spent is exactly the sum of the things listed under it, and what you didn't send no longer sits under what you didn't buy.

Letting go on one device now lets go on the others.

Swipe back works again on every screen, and we ask how TimeLocked is treating you at a better moment — once the screen you were on has closed, not over the note you just waited for.

### 2.1 — 2026-08-30

Everything is open. No more Premium — locking the apps, holding as many decisions at once as you like, every pause length: all of it is yours while TimeLocked is in early access. If you paid already: thank you, nothing changes for you and nothing is charged again.

Send a link straight in from the shop. Tap Share wherever you found it, pick TimeLocked, and it's parked before you can argue with yourself. The sheet says "Parked" now instead of flashing white and vanishing, and a link can no longer go missing on the way in.

The first run shows the app working instead of describing it. Four screens, each animating the thing it's about: the impulse caught mid-tap, the clock that won't be pushed back, the share sheet, and the entry coming back to ask.

What you didn't buy is a place now, not a number. The things you turned down are listed with what each one cost — a tally you can check rather than one you have to take on faith. Put it towards something and every decision fills the bar. Say what an hour of your time is worth and the same total reads in hours.

Silence is an answer. A pause that opens and goes three days unanswered is booked as let go: the money counts, it goes on the shelf, and nothing is deleted — it's still there if you meant to say yes. Both screens tell you the day before it happens.

Prices arrive from far more shops. The number is read where most of the web actually keeps it, so links that used to come in priceless now carry one.

Parking a link is one screen again instead of a page of small print. The price is a chip, the app lock is a row you can switch off, and the paragraph explaining the share sheet is gone — the share sheet explains itself.

The empty queue does something. The hourglass runs, empties and turns over, because waiting is what that tab is for.
