### 4/5 — Good

*2023-09-28, version 2.7.0*

Good

### 5/5 — My favorite time tracker and it gets better with every update.

*2022-11-30, version 2.2.0*

I’ve been using Timelogger for a long time, but felt compelled to come write a quick review after the updates just keep making it better and better. The recent addition of goal tracking is very cool!

I’ve tried a lot of different time tracking apps in my life-long attempt to get a grip on my scattered, messy schedule. This is the only one that has worked well enough to keep me coming back to it.

If you want a fully customizable app that will help you keep better track of habits, goals, work/freelance hours, etc, all in one place and in sync across all your devices - give Timelogger a try.

### 5/5 — I love it!

*2022-11-27, version 2.2.0*

I absolutely love this app. The developer is really devoted to improving it, little by little. It has all the features you need without being g overly-complicated. If you’re comparing a bunch of iOS/macOS time trackers to figure out which one is best, save yourself some time and just go with this one.

### 5/5 — Great for tracking jobs

*2022-11-16, version 2.1.3*

Really good setup. Specially with the new update.

### 5/5 — Everything you need but not too complex

*2022-11-03*

The new Version has even better software ergonomics and everything is there right when you need it. No clumsy fiddling around - just hit the timer start button and you’re good to go. Also good statistics overview and reporting. Syncing across multiple devices is also very convenient. Start a timer on the iPad and stop it on your Apple Watch. Thanks to the developer!

### 5/5 — Better than most

*2022-10-21, version 2.1.1*

I’ve tried all the top apps from App Store and this app seems to be the best.

Two features could be implemented for me: 1. Automatically discard task that has been running for very short time (a few seconds) since I sometimes press the wrong button. 2. The ability to link a “goal” to a combo of tasks from different folders (rather than limiting to one folder), since some of my goals are not project-based (e.g. tracking time taken for tasks that involve physical movements).

### 5/5 — a most responsive developer

*2022-10-20, version 2.1.1*

I’m loving the latest version!

### 5/5 — Fantastic update!

*2022-09-10, version 2.0.0*

Thank you for making this! It's perfect!

### 3/5 — Not Quite Ready for Prime Time....

*2022-08-10, version 1.0.8*

I really want to use this app, but 1) it appears the developer doesn't put much (if any) time into perfecting it (i.e. the version history is showing an update about every 1.5 years), 2) the syncing between the Mac, iPhone and iPad is iffy at times, where, out of the blue, it says "Warning: Your iCloud account has changed," when nothing has changed at all, hence causing you to sync all 3 devices manually), and 3) there are still kinks in the app where, for instance, the list of apps does not sync in their proper order on the Home page of the app (in other words, I have Groups lined up in a 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 order, but in the Home Page, they show up as 5, 2, 4, 1, 0, and 3....).

And so, until these fixes are made, I have no choice but to abandon this app for the time being. It does have some great features such as the ability to manually track income, and the ability to see the tasks as groups, tasks, and more very well. But, due to the syncing issues and the other stuff above, I'll just use something else. Hopefully, this app will be updated more frequently so it can become one of the greats at time tracking!

### 4/5 — Works

*2022-07-17, version 1.0.8*

Finally I can track my time with notes. I was going to use Toggl but couldn't get notes/descriptions. Thank you! Love the tagging feature and asthetically pleasing. The icloud sync works on all my devices by only paying for it on one device. Cheers.

Update:
- Can you make the font size adjustable on mac. Its hard to see the words on the mac app now.

- Also can you add a feature where the time is shown when reviewing notes that have been taken Thanks 😊.

### 4/5 — Great but needs an update

*2022-03-04, version 1.0.7*

Great app but needs some fixes. The Home Screen flickers in and out, making it harder to tap start or choose which task to focus on.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-03-01, version 1.0.7*

I use this app every day for logging the time I spend working, which helps me track my hours and keeping track of all different tasks. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — One of the best timeloggers there are as long as you stay in its system

*2022-02-01*

Its got a great, maybe polarizing UI and works very well on iPad and iPhone.
The Mac desktop app works ok, does not really feel as native, maybe it is just a port of the iPad version.

The sync works okay; It almost always works well enough and never lead to data being lost.
However, sometimes it is just refusing to stop a task for whatever reason.

The watch app is also working fine, definitely better than the one from toggl.

I love that the UI is feature packed and not a big white box with nothing in it; Many statistics are being displayed, and although not strictly necessary to be visible, I feel it adds to the experience.

The PDF export also works well, good enough for a freelancer generating reports for his clients.

### 5/5 — Muy buena, con un pero.

*2022-02-01*

Recomiendo pagar por ella. Aunque le falta un widget para la pantalla principal.

### 5/5 — I use it every day!

*2021-12-06, version 1.0.7*

As a freelance musician, I was looking for a time tracking app to help me keep track of all kinds of tasks, from practice time, to hours spent on projects for clients. The analytics have been invaluable for my invoicing, and as a bit of a data junkie I love seeing how many hours a week I’m working for, and how much time I have devoted to different activities.

I absolutely love the layout of Timelogger Plus, it feels professional and easy to use at the same time. After a few weeks I paid the subscription and it’s been worth every penny. The iCloud syncing is helpful as I work across different devices.

I will be continuing to use this app every day… it’s probably one of my most used apps!

### 5/5 — What a bargain!

*2021-09-24, version 1.0.7*

The amount of features you get for free is so generous!

I'm very likely going to get premium when I get a new iphone, but would love to see planning (to-do lists) implimented!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Greed

*2025-04-22, version 2.8.0*

I’m so sick of developers re-releasing apps and taking away features of the original for an overpriced monthly service.

### 1/5 — Missing the Two Features I Wanted

*2021-12-16, version 1.0.7*

I just upgraded from the basic Timelogger app. The app listing says it has widgets, which it apparently does not … not on iPhone or iPad, so that feels like false advertising.

Second, the one feature I really wanted from the old app is the Single Timer feature. That’s gone. What in the world does this app do better if it has such limited functionality?

### 1/5 — iCloud Sync broken

*2021-04-09*

iCoud Sync does not work

### 1/5 — Apple Watch doesn’t work.

*2021-02-25, version 1.0.7*

I had the previous version of this app and then the Apple Watch integration stopped working. I figured I would just upgrade since the new app can’t possibly be having the same issue. It is.
I tried the solution the developer suggested on Twitter. No dice. Do not buy if you intend to use the Apple Watch. This app has gone 8 months without an update, how can a bug persist for this long when you’re charging people these premium features?

### 1/5 — Serious app?

*2020-11-25*

Is this app serious? I have bought the previous one that I have been using more recently and lost my records. And finding out the previous one has been abandoned for this new one and can’t even import taks from the old one. I wonder how serious are those apps.

**Developer response:** Hi Stephane, thanks for your review. You can import the content from the previous version into this new version. To do that you must go to the Options screen and generate a backup file. Then from the Options screen of this application, you can import that file. About your lost data I am sorry for this inconvenience, the previous version had a sync issue but that is fixed on the latest update. And since that update, you are the first person reaching having problems. That application is not abandoned, but I don't have plans to build new features into it. But since a large group of people still use it I am performing maintenance if required to keep it working on a new iOS versions. If you have plans to keep using Timelogger Plus I really hope it could still be useful for you. Best Filipe Martins

### 1/5 — Can you add a function to lock the app?

*2020-09-06, version 1.0.7*

Can you add a function to lock the app?

I will be very grateful.

Thank you! !

### 1/5 — Great but not great

*2020-06-04, version 1.0.6*

Update (06/03/20): Hi Filipe, thanks for the recent update. Unfortunately the icloud sync issue still persists. I clicked on icloud integrity check and the app crashed and deleted all my tasks. I attempted a manual sync also but that didnt help. I lost lot of my consulting info due to this app. Uninstalled and moving on. I wasted $9!

I have been using this for the past 1 week after a long review of other apps (including atracker) and settled down with this as a premium user.

Pro: Great UI, loved the slice-and-dice of data via reports.

Con: iCloud sync is a pain. I had to export the data from my phone as a backup and upload it on my mac for the records to align between my phone and mac. I add entries in phone, does not show up in mac. Frustuating.

### 2/5 — Great on my phone, not so much on my iPad

*2023-09-26*

5-stars on my phone but Single Timer does not work on my iPad. Unsure if it’s the Single Timer setting or something wrong with the iCloud sync feature. Frustrating b/c an old task will continue after I clicked a new task.

**Developer response:** Hi, the sync mechanism for the App Settings currently works differently from the user records. It may take longer to sync. I would like to suggest checking if the Setting on the iPad was indeed updated according to the iPhone, if not you can turn it on as well.
I will eventually change to way the app syncs its settings, but until then I hope Timelogger Plus can still be useful for you. In the meantime, if you want to discuss something you can always reach me through the internal App Feedback option.
Regards,
Filipe Martins

### 2/5 — Confusing Interface

*2022-04-21*

I have been using the standard version for years. This “Plus” application feels like it makes everything worse. Maybe it’s just me but I will downgrade as I don’t see any benefit in using this version.

### 2/5 — No sync as claimed

*2020-12-15, version 1.0.7*

Aaesthetically pleasing but devices do not sync via icloud, instead offer backup/restpre. The description is misleading. No menubar access on the mac.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed

*2025-10-16, version 2.8.0*

This app is exactly what I was looking for - a way to document and time my projects for work, including seconds (not just minutes and hours). I’m so happy I found this app. Seriously- mad I wasted so much time looking at other ones before I found this.

### 5/5 — Best of the Bunch!!

*2024-04-12, version 2.8.0*

I have purchased most of the time tracking apps in the App Store. This is by FAR the GOAT of them all.

I purchased TimeLogger a month ago and I really put it through its paces. I purchased the $9.99 annual plan after a 2 days of playing with it before I unlocked it. I chose to not pay the $25 to have it permanently unlocked because I want to support it yearly.

After trying pretty much every time keeping app I found this app was sold on it. I spent ALOT of time looking at other apps.

My tips. Start simple, if you track every little thing it will overwhelm you. Track basic stuff. (Cleaning/Resting/Working) Anything that would take more than 20 min. You will slowly add tasks as you get more use to tracking your time. Learn about folders!! That helps separate tasks between locations or jobs so if you only do one task at a location you can set it so you only see tasks that are used there.

The layout is very user friendly and graphically appealing. This truly is a wonderful app.

That being said I do have some things that I feel would make it even better. In the lists of tasks I wish the start the timer was about 30% larger. It just looks really tight with the timer running.

In the Time Distribution area the round chart is were I REALLY hope for some changes. It can get very busy and crowded with the circular chart. I really would prefer a bar chart. The circle makes it very hard to distinguish numbers and titles. Right below it is a nice chart of each task Total time of each task. If that had a toggle switch between time and percent that would be great. My only work around right now is to Create Report to view it.

This app really should be an “Editors Choice”. I can see myself using this app a lot. Great app DOWNLOAD IT NOW!!

### 5/5 — The best

*2024-02-27, version 2.8.0*

Searched for so many time trackers / habit trackers and this is the best by miles. Not over complicated but if you want to you get really detailed with the reporting.

The goals feature is great to for my habit tracking needs. I try and ensure i spend a certain amount of time each day on certain tasks like learning, cleaning and exercising and when you reach the time goal milestone, it feels far more rewarding than your usual daily habit trackers that just track a daily tally rather than using time as a metric.

### 5/5 — Very helpful and well thought out

*2024-01-03, version 2.8.0*

This app deserves a lot more attention that it seems to get in the field of timelogging. I’ve tried six of these apps meanwhile and this is my (new) favorite. Has everything I need without being overloaded. Dev seems to be dedicated to the app and provides it with regular updates instead of abandoning it after a few years how many others do so. Pricing is absolutely reasonable imo and I decided to go with Lifetime option (I only do subscriptions for apps with constant content streaming like Weather or Stocks) and it has an app for every device within the Apple ecosystem - that’s really, really nice! Thank you very much Filipe!

### 5/5 — Modern Features

*2023-08-19, version 2.6.1*

This app uses all the modern features of iOS 17. There's support for Apple Watch, iPad, iPhone and Mac. Live Tiles and Dynamic Island support is greatly useful in a productive environment. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Very good app (add little things!)

*2023-08-13*

I used this app a couple of week. Very good for tracking my time and analizing what I do every day.
But for more use add plz some wishes:
1. Add to the goal as well Limits for tasks.
2. Do manually Sort of tasks
3. Reports: - Do sort task by spend time not alphabet
- please show each activity with time and percent(%)! It’s really important when you analize spend time.

### 5/5 — Great Product & Outstanding Support

*2023-08-03*

I started using Timelogger (Mac, iPhone & iPad) 2 months ago after looking at a dozen other similar apps. Everyone's needs are different, but this app was the closest for my needs (multi-company contractor). After a few weeks of use, I made a short list of minor tweaks I was hoping the developer would consider. Within a very short time, the developer not only responded but had made many of the changes (Mac & iPad) I requested.

This leads me to believe that Filipe not only care about his products but wants to hear from his community about how to make it better.

I highly recommend Timelogger! Thank you, Filipe!

### 5/5 — Excellent - just what I need for my consulting work

*2023-08-02, version 2.6.1*

Has all the features I need, and then some.
I’ve been using this for years to track my project work for various clients.

### 5/5 — Great.

*2023-03-06, version 2.3.0*

Sumbled back into this app and saw the updates. Fantastic!

### 5/5 — A lovely time tracking app

*2022-11-30, version 2.2.0*

I’m pretty happy with this app as is. It’s honestly got a lot of features that show the developer is dedicated to making it flexible & adding features suggested by users. If you look through the app’s reviews (which generally include feature requests) & the app’s recent development cycle, you’ll see that most asks are answered right away with each update containing the asked-for features.

So, I’d like to throw in my suggestions.

I’d love to see the ability to set recurring reminders when a timer is running. I’d like to have a notification every X or so minutes without having to manually set a new notification or start the timer over. These notifications would serve multiple purposes, including reminding people when there’s a timer running (it’s easy to forget) & serve as focus reminders/distraction beaters (ie. getting a haptic tap on your watch every 10 minutes or so).

Additionally, it would be great to set notifications to start timers. For example, getting a reminder to start your work timer at 9AM or starting your bedtime routine timer at 10PM.

Otherwise, the app is well thought out for time tracking & I'm excited to see how the developer is going to continue to improve the app.

As a final note, I’d just say that adding an email address for folks that don’t use the stock Apple Mail app might help to avoid crowding reviews with feature requests. I see a lot of developers following this trend of setting their contact button as a link to the mail app which displays a “Restore Mail app” message if you don’t have it downloaded. Even just a small message with an email address would work.
