In other words timer goes off you select the button to say “yes I realize time is up“ but the alarm continues to go off until it finishes it cycle. Worse yet the default alarm is the most obnoxious of them all and I cannot put into words how embarrassing it is to be at my office or at a hospital or someplace and simply not be able to even shut this alarm off. Well I doubt they will ever do this enhancement please consider either having a no alarm option or one that says shut the alarm off as soon as I acknowledge and turn off the timer. Also like that the timers still go off even if I accidentally close the whole app. Don't need any of the extra themes or sounds, works great just as it is! I agree that it would be nice to have number badges on it so when I'm looking at my home screen I could instantly tell if there were any timers going, but that might also get annoying, too. ### 5/5 — Great app at reasonable price *2014-07-28, version 2.0.1* This app has thought about all of the big three. 1. Usability (great customizable interface), 2. Aesthetics, the looks and sounds will fit any needs, and utility are very attractive. Really good for folks who have the need for a lot of timed events with both graphic indicators on the buttons and a wide variety of quality alarms sounds to both suit tastes and functionality 3. Functionality as in do the alarms do work and do not seem to interact or bug out with either the OS or other apps. It os true there are in app charges, but they are very reasonable in bundle form. An even more powerful app by the same developer is launch padpro. A great inexpensive interface emhancement. ### 5/5 — One of the 1st apps I set up on new phone *2014-02-09, version 2.0.1* That's how much I use it. The best feature is how it manages to combine both a timer & a stopwatch -- so if I'm across the room when a timer goes off, I can see the total time since I started the timer. Most useful in cooking when I go "crap. How many minutes ago did the timer go off?" ### 5/5 — I love this timer! *2014-02-06, version 2.0.1* This is a wonderfully simple & useful app. I paid for the wind chimes sound which I use on one particular pre-set & it puts a smile on my face every time it goes off! I like that I can put labels on the timers I use frequently. I mostly use this app for cooking, but it is also great to use as a reminder that a certain amount of time has passed, since I sometimes get completely absorbed in what I am doing to the point that I lose track of the time. After reading some of the reviews, I am going to try using the app to count UP to see how long I am spending on some activity... ### 5/5 — Best timer app - needs one tweak *2014-01-12, version 2.0.1* This app is great in its design, simplicity, and flexibility. I purchased a theme just to show a little support to the developer. Bravo! Suggestion: I would like to suggest that there be an option to invert the colors on a timer that is running and perhaps flash once it's done. I sometimes miss timers that are running if I quickly glance at the app. Having inverted colors on running timers will make them stand out from the rest and quickly tell the user which timers are running. ### 5/5 — The best timer app, PERIOD. *2013-10-12, version 2.0.1* I just want every one to know that this is absolutely the best timer app on the App Store. I have tried several and this one addresses the things about other timers that annoy the crap out of me. It's simple and fast to use, needs no instructions, and makes setting up a quick timer on the fly a snap. You can literally set up three custom timers in about 20 seconds, my last timer app took longer than that for one. Very nicely done, I would have gladly paid for it. ### 5/5 — Nice timer app *2013-08-11, version 2.0.1* I’ve just started using it. I like it a lot and I think it may become my goto timer app. I agree with all the good things said about simplicity, ease of use, etc. and I bought the ultimate bundle of glyphs and sounds. There are two improvements I’d like to see. 1) When a timer goes off a message appears saying “You’re 30 minutes timer has ended.” What’s the point of having all kinds of fun glyphs for labels, or the option of a text label, if the message doesn’t use them? Yesterday I had timers going for three different things – meds, laundry, picking up a friend. When the timer went off, how did I know which one it was? If I could remember which one I set 30 minutes ago, I probably wouldn’t need the timer in the first place! 2) More everyday and household glyphs: books, dishes in the sink, laundry, cooking-related glyphs, something a little spicier than a valentine heart (but still able to pass parental controls) for a hot appointment…, a chair, a bed, a tableset for a meal, someone going for a walk (not all of us are runners), you get the idea. ### 5/5 — Amazing. Having all those different times showing on the whole screen is genius! And then you get three more to set to whatever times you like. All usable simultaneously. Kudos to the developer. ### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed and wanted *2013-08-10, version 2.0.1* I've been looking for DAYS for just the right app. A nursing timer that alerts me when I need to feed my baby, but something simple enough to just touch n go. Because all of these timers are customizable, and can be labeled, this app is soo perfect. Would recommend to anyone with a new baby and looking for a simple, easy to use timer. Not to mention the awesomeness that the preset can be set to zero and when started, it will count up!! Perfect for keeping track of how long it's been since a diaper was changed or how long she's been sleeping. Thank you for making the beautiful app! I've been searching for a good timer app and I thought I found it with this app. However, once a timer is started there is no ability to pause it. This app is great! I bought in-app ultimate bundle too. I liked the timer sounds. I wish there are more and I want to use those sounds for my Iphone alarm app but there is no option to extract those sounds so may be developer can build one working iPhone alarm clock with similar and more sounds. This is my first review. ### 4/5 — Good app but one suggestion *2013-06-18, version 2.0.1* Simple, straight forward, useful app. I like it. I use it to time my stretches and i like the alarm that sets off that tells me to move to the next stretch. However, when i am listening to music and i have the app running in the background in locked screen, the alarm sound doesnt go off. Instead only a notification pops up on the locked screen but no sound/alarm. Is it because i have music playing or because its in the locked screen and the app is running in the background or both? ### 5/5 — Minimalist Design *2013-05-11, version 2.0.1* I like the minimalist design of this app. Out of all the timer apps that I tried, this one requires the least amount of tapping in order to operate it. Also, it allows for the most amount of timers to be displayed on the home screen, while still allowing you to see the status of each timer without having to leave the home screen. Very well done! I do have a feature request though: If the sound is turned on, the timer sound will continue to play until turned off (I like this). However, if the phone is on vibrate, it will only vibrate once which sounds like an email, text message, etc. It would be nice if the phone could continue to vibrate until you intervene and switch the timer off, just like it does with the sound on. I have a young daughter and often keep the phone on vibrate during her naps. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Poorly Done *2014-07-20, version 2.0.1* Good concept but poorly implemented. Timers-alarms are intended to send a SOUND until you turn it off. But this sound turns itself OFF after a few seconds. The alarm should continue to sound until your ACTION TURNS IT OFF ! Then when you do turn it off , the alarm box continues to flash and you must touch it again. Indeed this app is not one touch ! Frequently the alarms will be falsely triggered and will sound at unexpected times such as in the middle of the night ! The app TIMER+ is far superior to this one. ### 2/5 — You can't 'time' how long something takes. *2015-02-19, version 2.0.1* I was surprised to discover that you can't use this tool to time how long something takes. All it does is count down to zero (and then back up) from some given start point. Ie: it will count down from 10 mins or 5 mins etc. this is great if you want to remind yourself to do something in a few minutes, but worthless if you want to time how long something takes, which is what I thought a 'timer' would do. Also, you don't want this for the Pomodoro technique because it has no setting for 25 mins and, although there are three 'programmable' buttons, they don't remember the times you set, so you would have to reprogram it after every 25 min cycle. ### 2/5 — Paid upgrades are annoying. *2013-03-12, version 2.0.1* The app is fine inasmuch as it is a functioning timer. It didn't provoke catharsis or expose me to some sort of revelation in timekeeping, and it certainly isn't the most powerful or usable timer app I've used, but it works. The reason I took off a star is the Byzantine and massive set of paid upgrades. There must be a dozen trivial features, sounds, themes, etc. It feels very "nickel-and-dimey," and is very reminiscent of Zynga games and other freemium games and apps. Wading through a huge set of inconsequential, inexpensive upgrades is grating and creates too much cognitive overhead. The app isn't compelling enough to warrant coping with the absurd pricing scheme. You would be better served finding a free or $.99 timer that functions comparably and not having to contend with being overwhelmed by small upgrades. ### 3/5 — Great App, but needs update *2017-06-10, version 2.0.1* In a previous review, I stated the alarm would not sound when a timer expired. MY BAD! Sounds and alerts need to be enabled for this App in Settings/Notifications. Not sure how or why I turned them off. Now it works as designed, so far. Still get notified (by iOS 10.3.2 ?) that the App needs to be updated or will not work with next iOS update. Otherwise, a fantastic easy to use App. Easy to modify individual timers. ### 3/5 — If you’re having problems with iOS9, update to 9.0.1 *2015-09-29, version 2.0.1* I like this app because of the many presets it allows me to have. But after updating to iOS9, I was having a problem where the alarm often didn’t sound. It turns out that this was an iOS bug that Apple fixed in 9.0.1, so now it’s working fine again. ***update*** I was wrong, it’s not working consistently. Sometimes the alarm will go off, but about 80% of the time it doesn’t. No idea if this is still an iOS9 issue or a Timer issue. ### 3/5 — Good multiple timer! *2015-09-01, version 2.0.1* The ease of use for this timer is fantastic. I can set many timers to count down different things and the pre-sets can be adjusted. They sell additional bundles that include color themes and attractive glyphs to identify what the timer was counting down. All of this is fine within the app itself. The purchase of any of the bundles stops the ads from appearing. Outside the app, when the timer counts down the notification appears as a generic announcement. I haven't found any way for the theme color or glyph to show up to remind me what the timer represented. I tried to contact the developer to ask for this feature but they don't have anything more than an information page for the Timer app. If I'm paying to use these items within a free timer app, I would expect them to be useful in the function of the app. Right now, they serve only as an identifier for saved timers within the app. I wish the developers had gone the extra step and added this useful feature. Actually make the Ultimate Bundle worth the $10. ### 3/5 — Doesn't always work in background? *2013-07-07, version 2.0.1* My experience with the app has been it sometimes fails to indicate time is up if another app (e.g. Safari) had been used and the Timer app was not on the screen when iPhone locked. Maybe I did something wrong but it seems like when I unlocked the phone and when into the app it would immediately indicate time is up when in fact time was up a while ago. Not trusting it to work perfectly. ### 3/5 — Definite Potential! *2013-03-12, version 2.0.1* I definitely see the usefulness & potential of this app, but right away I also see something it needs too. Evidently I accidentally set a 45 min timer then closed the app. This would've been fine had it not been 2am at the time - imagine my surprise at being woken up out of a sound sleep with no idea I'd even set a timer! So, it would be great to have some kind of way to know when one, or more, is set - a number like when you get a text would be perfect, that way if you set 3 timers it would show the number 3 when you close the app and it would be easy to see how many timers you still have going without having to open the app. While this offers is convience $10 to open all the themes, sounds & fonts is just ridiculous! Especially when the "extras" aren't really that special. ### 3/5 — 1 small problem ruins it for me *2013-01-28, version 2.0.1* I need an app for my gym routine that can be set to countdown 30 seconds. Was excited to find this one but there's on small thing that makes it unusable for my purpose - it doesn't make the alarm sound if you don't have the app open. It vibrates but I don't feel that when I'm doing jumping jacks etc. I need to start the timer, push the "lock" button, throw it in my pocket and then hear the alarm go off. This app does not do that, at least not yet. ### 3/5 — Nice design, almost perfect... *2012-12-27, version 2.0.1* Great timer app. If you opt for the $10 'Ultimate Bundle' it winds up being a very expensive timer app. Really wish accidentally tapping a running timer didn't reset it. At least the option to set the app so it'll confirm before stopping and resetting a running timer, maybe a tap 'n hold to bypass the confirmation prompt. Very much like that an alert counts up from the time it goes off until you reset it, with the count-up appearing in the Notification Center until you clear it. Simple, beautiful, elegant. *2020-08-05, version 2.0.2* I’ve been looking for an app with a soft, pleasing appearance. I love it that the screen is not busy with a bunch of extraneous design elements. To the developer: wonderful job! For sure, I would love it if you would make one that fills the iPad screen, instead of only having the ability to enlarge it from the phone format. ### 5/5 — Your Kitchen Timer Search is Over *2020-08-02, version 2.0.2* This timer is application is artisanal and well designed. Up to 15 timers can be programmed and act independently to count not only down, but then up after the programmed time has been reached. Activation of timers is “one touch” and makes tracking cooking times a breeze. You can automate the times for various processes, taking the guess work out of your cooking times, kind of like the process they use at McDonalds when they need to precision-time their French Fries. Once you start to really use this app, you begin to realize what a “killer app” it is for the kitchen. ### 5/5 — I put off updating my OS for the sake of this app *2019-03-02, version 2.0.2* This app works as advertised without my fiddling. I like having multiple preset timers. I like being able to set timers with increments of seconds--important in workouts. I like the selection of sounds. I often want a one-ding chime like those on old-fashioned wind-up timers, because I might *not* want to stop what I'm doing immediately to turn off the timer. (Surprisingly, the Apple timer lacks such a sound.) When iOS notified me this app wouldn't work with the next OS update, I put off updating and refrained from quitting the app. For months. Glad to know about the app's update. Just bought the Ultimate Bundle, mostly to support the developer of this app which has been so useful to me for so many years (though the extra sounds are nice). ### 5/5 — One of my favorite ones *2017-06-11, version 2.0.1* Got a notice that told me a developer needed to update one of my favorite apps as they hadn't in a while. Came here to figure out why and if a great app was dying. Maybe I'd pay...purchase an upgrade...but the guy has decided you're not worth it I bet. It's you people. I wouldn't make apps for cheap and ungrateful whiners either. Thanks for ruining a simple and elegant, free timer. ### 5/5 — Minimal elegant simple perfection *2016-04-07, version 2.0.1* I've searched for a good meditation app for some time. I didn't really need to track it. Just wanted something simple yet functional. This is it. I did want interval bells, so I set 2 rows of timers, a 5,10,15,20 and 30 minute timers. If for example I want to meditate for 20 minutes with an interval halfway through, I simply click the 10 then the 20 minute timer. The 10 minute goes off halfway through, the 20 minute one signals the end. Or I could click the 5,10,15 and 20 minute timers if I wanted 5 minute interval bells. It's super easy. The app is gorgeous, and the themes and sounds are great. Both the many free included as well as the optional purchase ones. I solid 5 star app. Works for my meditation, and also any other time I may need a timer. ### 5/5 — Hasn't been updated in three years and still my favorite timer app *2016-01-24, version 2.0.1* Usually I give up on apps that go this long without an update. This app was perfect three years ago and it's perfect now. I paid for the bundle just so I could give the developer some money. I'd pay again if a new version came out with a Today widget. I'd pay more if it ran on the Apple Watch — I'm still looking for something with preset timers there. I have about 4 timer apps on my phone but this is my go-to timer and is on my front page of my apps. It's SO easy and quick to start it going. The others timer app's actually WASTE some of your time getting it going, setting them up, too many taps etc. Go figure, lol. I'm heavy into aesthetics of my apps. This one is has perfect, modern looking choices. Don't be whining about the .99 you spend 3x more at Starbucks and your flavored coffee is gone in a short time. This, you get to look at whenever you want for as long as you want. The epitaphs are really cool and fun! My favorite feature is how it keeps track of the running time once the timer has beeped. I'm not a power user but am excited about Apps I recently downloaded, which include: IFTTT, Drafts, Clips, LCP and Evernote Premium with Dolphin browser, Zite along with Pocket (And even an older copy of SwiftKey note which allows for saving directly to specific Evernote folders). . ### 5/5 — Good multi timer. Launch Center support. *2014-10-24, version 2.0.1* Great app. Especially because of its integration with launch center pro. I currently have a problem however- tried to get one of the themes, and the app crashed during in app purchase. I can't get it to launch now. Every time it shows the dialogue to send a report and then closes. I'm on iOS 8.1, iPhone 6. Also: feature request. As a hack, if I wanted to launch a stopwatch(count upwards), I would launch a timer from launch center set to 1 second and then click through the alert and, tada, a stopwatch of sorts. Could you make it so that if a timer was initialized by url scheme with a value of 0, it launched into stopwatch mode?
