Times Table Star turns multiplication, division and missing numbers into something children actually want to do: looking after a pet that only grows because they learn. Free to download, and the whole times tables ladder is free forever. CHOOSE YOUR PET Pick an egg and hatch it by answering your first questions. Stella the star, Mochi the kitten, Lumi the axolotl, Suki the Siamese, Biscuit the puppy, Pip the owl, Pickle the tortoise and Ember the dragon are all waiting inside. Name yours, and it is yours for good. MATHS MAKES THEM GROW Every quiz you finish makes your pet cleverer. EIGHTEEN MOODS, NOT SIX Sparkle was a bar with no expression, and a poorly pet borrowed its sad face. Not any more. Your pet looks grubby when it needs a bath, sorry for itself when it is poorly, content when it is full, wistful when it has been left alone, and fast asleep rather than merely drowsy. Pat it three times in a row and see what happens. All eight pets have all eighteen, at every age. TRICKS THAT ARE ACTUALLY DRAWN Sit, Spin, High Five, Roll, Take a Bow and Dance are proper animations now, drawn frame by frame for every pet. Roll Over is a real roll: your pet flops onto its side, waves its legs in the air and gets back up again. Pickle the tortoise tucks into his shell and rolls like a ball, because a tortoise on its back is nobody's idea of fun. FIFTEEN ROOMS, AND SOMETHING FOR THE OCCASION Every theme now has three rooms rather than one. A reading nook, a play den, a beach hut, an aquarium, a treehouse, a greenhouse, an observatory, a rocket bay, an arcade and a workshop. Dress any of them up for a birthday, or for spring, summer, autumn or winter. A PROPER TOY BOX The bouncy ball, the bubbles, the balloon, the story book and the twirly spinner all have their own artwork now. It breathes where it stands, casts a soft shadow on the floor, and wanders the whole room rather than pacing one small patch of it. It goes to the window to watch the weather, noses through the toy box, and curls up on the rug for a nap. EVERY PET KEEPS ITS OWN HOURS A puppy is up with the lark and worn out by nine. A Siamese stays up late and has a lie in. When your pet's own bedtime comes round it yawns, curls up and sleeps, and three gentle taps will always wake it again. Tuck it in yourself and it settles an hour early. WHILE YOU WERE AWAY Come back the next day and your pet tells you what it got up to: counting birds on the wires, daisies in the long grass, acorns buried for a squirrel. Every story is built from your own child's times tables, and it reaches for the facts they are finding hardest, so the maths is the story rather than a sum bolted onto one. A newborn is a wobbly, big-headed little thing, and each stage changes its shape, not just its size, until it becomes the elegant grown-up you have been working towards.
