### 4/5 — Lost ability to write out filtered records

*2017-01-05, version 7.0.0*

Ive been using this app for years to write out last months specific category time records to a spreadsheet file. As of the Jan 3 update, it appears to only write out the entire unfiltered database. Other than that, it works great.

### 4/5 — Impressed!

*2015-07-22, version 4.2.0*

I have been searching for an app like this for months. I have tried a lot of them and they just didn't work right. This app is phenomenal. I can't believe it's free.

### 4/5 — Great, simple, and straightforward

*2015-03-26, version 4.0.0*

Easy to use with a clean interface. Very intuitive with a simple setup so it does what I need it to do quickly without all the extra features that make other apps feel clunky. One suggestion...the ability to review data with a pie chart and bar graph would be nice. Great app!

### 4/5 — Might Even Be 5

*2015-03-12, version 4.0.0*

I am excited to use this app. I hope it's easy & fast like you say but the best part sounds like the ease of switching from one "job" to the next- I happen to be one of those busy Moms who always gets asked "what I did today" at the end of the day. While it's possible they truly believe I enter an alternate universe & elves come back thru to wash their clothes & etc., I hope this app will be easy for me to show them how I switch from task to task as if they were jobs recording my time on each. I haven't found the "right" app yet...maybe this is it.

### 4/5 — academic musician

*2014-12-05, version 3.5.1*

TimeTag is currently fulfilling 2 important tasks of an academic musician: recording time on applied music (aka practice time), and accurately populating a selected iOS calendar, showing the progress of time investment. In combination with iStudiez Pro, time on task (TimeTag) gets displayed together on an academic schedule (iStudiez) via the pass-through iOS calendar. Seeing practice time tracking along beside class schedules can be encouraging of further time investment. There are also those "oh [bleep]" moments when the inverse is also shown: lack of time on task, while the academic schedule continues. TimeTag can easily become a 5-star app, glad to have it on the iPad Retina Mini.

### 4/5 — does it's job well

*2014-02-06, version 3.1.4*

like others, I've downloaded and paid quite a bit of money to find an app in the class. some where too simple, others too complex. this is the perfect mix for me.

### 3/5 — Like it but need improvement

*2013-08-12, version 2.1.0*

I've been using this App for quite a while. it's good but the new update version remove the feature that shows the app is running!

### 4/5 — Pretty Solid

*2013-07-03, version 2.1.0*

Could use syncing features. Could be five stars if the menus were less confusing.

### 4/5 — Great Record Keeping App but needs a few improvements

*2013-06-29, version 2.1.0*

I love this app for work record keeping!

The only improvement I would love to see is a login for multiple device sync and the ability to login to it on a webbrowser. This would give me the ability to record and edit data from multiple devices.

I have purchased this App on my personal iPhone and my work iPad and I really hate that I can't see the same data on both devices.

Other than that this is a great app that is extremely simple to use!

### 4/5 — Challenging

*2013-05-04, version 2.0.0*

I like the app very much but I find some of the features are not as intuitive as I would like. The developer is great to respond to my questions and suggestions.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2011-12-15, version 1.32*

Works as described. Initially a little tricky to setup the categories but after a little thought it is a very useful tool. I use it to track my time spent on various projects at work.

### 3/5 — Nice GUI but...

*2011-11-15, version 1.32*

Among oyher similar time management apps, this is the most user friendly one. The tagging idea is good. However, even though it is fun to use, I couldn't make it useful. I expect after setting the date range filter, the grouped category view will sum the total for each category for the date range. It doesn't. The sum is still listed separately for each day, but simply without listing the dates outside the range. This leaves the Grouped Category view redundant and useless. If user can set to view the category total for the month, quarter or year, in other words, any given date range, it would be a great app; and would have 5 stars.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Went from okay to unusable

*2022-10-20, version 9.1.0*

App worked pretty good when I fist started using it in 2019 or so but in the last year it’s gotten worse and worse! It recently wiped all of my data for no reason and freezes and crashes with every button push or even sometimes by just opening the app!
Developer needs to fix the app and everyone else should find something better!

### 1/5 — Timetag Pro Subscription

*2018-07-28, version 8.3.1*

Paying a yearly fee for a timer???? Unreal. So many other choices. A subscription? Really?

### 1/5 — Do NOT purchase Pro version

*2016-07-27, version 6.0.1*

I purchased the Pro version so that I could sync between devices and it worked for a few weeks. Then it stopped. I contacted the developer for help and they tried to fix the problem but to no avail. I still use the free version but I'm out the $9.73 I paid to buy the Pro. Save yourself the money and stick with the free version. It's a good app, but I'd love to be able to use it on my phone and iPad as well. (Hey, Capparsa, I sure would love to get my money back. Apple won't help. Will you?)

### 1/5 — Features held prisoner behind pay wall

*2015-08-08, version 5.0.2*

I used the app quite a bit but always wished it had reporting built in. Well it's finally been added...

The problem is that cloud syncing and new reports require a monthly subscription. The first issue I have is that is not clear if the data's is stored in iCloud our their servers. I don't want my data on the developer's servers. I don't really want it in iCloud either but I'd live with it, if it meant syncing. The second issue is a recurring subscription. It's a nice app and people got to eat. I get that. However I'm not going to sign up for functionality I can do with the exported data or even easier I can just use an app with graphs that is not constantly siphoning money.

### 1/5 — Worked fine, now crashes constantly

*2013-10-03, version 3.1*

I use this for freelancing and for some reason today it decided to start crashing every time I try to look at my logs. Unfortunately I can't update my invoices without that information.

### 1/5 — Yuk! Not worth the $4

*2011-05-04, version 1.31*

I am disappointed in this app, of the hundreds of apps I have bought and downloaded this is the only only I felt worth commenting distastefully as its stupid, provides little functionality which for free I would still be upset I even bothered. You guys either need to seriously drop the price to something closer to "free", or at best .99 and add some more functionality, descriptions of task, maybe a help panel to outline its intended use, etc, then maybe ok, but as is I recommend that no one waste their $ as I did. I wish there was a return policy with apps because I would be all over it for this one!

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2010-08-29, version 0*

The edit time feature doesn't work. If I enter 1pm it becomes 3pm, 2pm becomes 4pm, etc. Also, there is no way to edit dates to manually input events not timed using the timer that day. I will change my review if these issues are fixed, but for now the app is a waste of money. I wish I hadn't bought it. I also question the authenticity of these other reviews.

### 2/5 — Cannot recommend this app

*2014-04-05, version 3.1.4*

Just got it for working offsite. I had several jobs to enter that I did several days ago; entered them and one disappeared when I exported it to my calendar ( if that function would work, this app would be great). So I added that one again (painful), tried it export it for the calendar, still did not work, but both showed up when I restarted. For an app that is several years old it's not a good buy.

### 3/5 — Take my money, damnit

*2021-09-16, version 9.0.0*

It’s a great and useful app. So much so that I’m trying to purchase to pro version. Only problem is it won’t let me!! Everytime I click the “upgrade to pro” button, nothing happens. If some dev can help me out I will happily change to 5 stars

### 3/5 — Simple but bare bones

*2013-08-19, version 2.1.0*

If I didn't need to track mileage this would be great; really simple to use. If you need to make any notes long with each task this might not work for you

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best time tracking for desktop & mobile

*2019-04-19, version 8.5.0*

I needed a time tracking app on my phone so I did a quick search, tried a few of the top results and soon realized they were all too complicated, too confusing to use, stacked with features yet still unable to provide the ease of use and features that I need. I’ve been using TimeTag on my Mac for years and at first I didn’t realize they have a mobile app as well. This app is perfect. Clean, simple, gives me all the features that I need and it just works. Thanks for providing such an amazing app for free, really makes my life a lot easier.

### 5/5 — App went from Very Good to Fantastic in last update

*2017-12-10, version 8.0.0*

I have been using TimeTag off and on for a number of years depending on the requirements of specific clients. It has always satisfied my requirements when I needed to track/report my time and activities. The last update made the app much more intuitive, much easier to use, and, most importantly, gave the user valuable information "on the fly" that might have previously required additional user effort. If you need an app that will allow you to categorize your time and generate reports for clients demonstrating goals achieved through your efforts, this app is the best in the store. Additionally, if you would like these activities posted on your calendar on the dates of activity, this app will do that for you also.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for this review! We greatly appreciate it, and are so happy it’s working out well for you. Regards, Sam & the TimeTag team

### 5/5 — This is great

*2016-04-05, version 5.3.0*

I use it to track time and occurrences of different events and I think this interface is great. Easy to start a new timer. Also I love the way this app allows you to adjust time entries after they are done. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Great for Job Pricing

*2015-05-13, version 4.0.0*

I run a start-up and TimeTag has been great for me to time different processes in order to set the right price point and find efficiencies. I can label things and go back and compare how much time (and money) I'm saving by improving the process.

### 5/5 — Works Great (minor issues)

*2015-03-26, version 4.0.0*

The app is great at helping me keep track of my time, and the ability to create my own categories helps me figure out how much time is productively used or wasted. The app occasionally crashes, but it has always reopened easily afterwards and I have never lost any data due to the crashes.

### 5/5 — Really Useful and Simple as advertized!

*2014-10-08, version 3.5.0*

It is refreshing to come across apps that meet or exceed their intent! TimeTag works as avertized, that is, it is easy to use and pretty useful in keeping track of multiple tasks, making it a great productivity tool. Thanks for keeping simple things really simple.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2014-10-02, version 3.5.0*

It is simple, easy to use & supplies me with what I want. Latest version update even improved on that. Great job!

### 5/5 — Fantastic!!!!

*2014-08-09, version 3.1.5*

I've been using this app to track my time on projects for a couple years now. I have had a few issues with the application but those have always been fixed by the next release. Then last week I hit a critical bug with e porting my data and I submitted a report. In a couple days I had a response from the developer and then a few days later the bug was fixed and I was updated in the App Store. Thank you for fixing the bug so quickly and having a great app.

### 5/5 — Best Productive Timing App

*2013-06-27, version 2.1.0*

This is app is great or keeping track of your daily agenda. With this app your able to export your to dos, job projects, and cost to your calendar and more. Love it!!!

### 5/5 — Can't Live Without

*2013-06-22, version 2.1.0*

As an independent contractor, I love this app. My clients require a breakdown of the time I spend on each project. This app makes this very easy. I can't believe I used to do this with pen and paper.
