And some of the features are rather wonky. The instruction manuals have also disappeared from the website, and the watch is “out of stock” on the website. Still does the basic functions relatively reliably, and it was certainly a very affordable option. But it seems it is approaching end of life now. ### 1/5 — Might consider Casio if you don’t want to buy apple *2024-11-03* Could be a decent watch if it’s not asking you to upgrade / update all the time . All the upgrades and it still has the same layouts, same templates and same issues . My blue tooth hasn’t worked lately , I try to upgrade and it cuts out at 99% and then starts all over . It was especially convenient for outdoor jogging, hiking, biking. Now the app will not ever find the watch’s GPS location. It will try forever, but never get it done. I have tried multiple locations, even across the entire country from where I live. No luck. Pros: works fine for timekeeping, heart rate, and phone notifications. Great battery life. J’ai réussi à tout mettre en ordre mais j’ai perdu mes datas ! 😞 ### 1/5 — A-GPS no longer updates properly via app *2023-04-12, version 1.19.0* Have thus far had a pretty good experience with this app. However, recently when the app connects to the watch and syncs up, it then attempts to update the A-GPS only to freeze up at 3% then somehow lose the connection to the phone. I have tried all of the various possible things to resolve the connection issues. Reached out to product support via the app and via email with no response. The app hasn’t been updated in a year. Has Timex completely stopped supporting this product? ### 1/5 — Will not link to my watch *2023-03-03, version 1.19.0* Have tried at least a dozen times. Watch says it’s paired. App says it’s not. I’ve restarted the app, restarted my watch, and restarted my phone, nothings worked for the last month. I loved the watch and the app but for the last month it’s been absolutely terrible. Maybe it’s a bug that needs to be worked through. ### 3/5 — Decent enough, issues, mistakes and omissions. *2022-05-21, version 1.19.0* The watch face page in the app won’t open on iPhone 12. The lay out is not great. Of the 4 tabs at the bottom only 2 are useful. There’s a tab for sharing you data with other Timex community members. Nope. There’s a list of menu items and in there, there is “…more”. Why not include the menu items in “…more” in the current list of menu items? If it’s not on the list, of course in want “…more”. But it would be on the list if there weren’t t a “…more” tab. It seems pretty silly if you ask me. Seems like a 6yo would t make that mistake. Just put the “…more items” with the other items. It’s over all okay but as time goes in it’s more and more annoying. Especially when features are plagued with bugs and counter-intuitiveness even when they’re fixed, it’s annoying because I’ve lost interest. I put my watch down for months as a result and only recently started using it again. I can’t justify an Apple Watch when I have this but I’m building a mental case for it right now it appears. I would also like to know how you arrive at knowing my deep sleep vs. light sleep times, you give me the data but not how you arrive at that conclusion. Is it heart rate? Is it listening? Is it blood oxygen? ECG? How do you know what cycle I’m in? Oh, and emojis don’t show up in texts you receive on the watch. Is that an oversight, or timex not wanting to spend the money? In any case, it’s a tell that they’re not serious about making this watch the best it can be, they’ve aimed to make a watch and app that is passable and only barely succeeded. Hey Devs, address these and I’ll change up this review! ### 4/5 — This app need more watch faces, please. *2022-05-12, version 1.19.0* I’m so bored with what I have to choose from as for as different watch faces. I’ve tried all the ones I liked over and over again. Please give us more watch faces and more themes. The holiday ones, you got that covered. But more Expeditions faces, more digital numbered faces, just more choices period. Other lower priced watches have over 80 watch faces, what‘s your problem? Think again if you believe Timex will help you. The AI based chat is useless and the customer service phone number is dedicated to trying to fish you in to various schemes. I’ve love’d my metropolitan R but it may be over for it. The watch shows up in the App, and trying to pair results in it saying, “Pairing request is refused, bring closer to the phone and try again.” You can’t “forget this device on the phone because it doesn’t show up under Bluetooth anymore. I tried resetting Network settings on the phone, factory reset of the watch, deleting the Timex Smart App and reinstalling on the phone. However, I understand it’s not the most used app. Can the app include user community info., at least to get a sense of who’s out there, # of users, leader boards, etc? When my sleep report says I’m 97% among users I don’t have a good reference point. 97% of five users, or 5,000? ### 5/5 — Not working correctly now. *2024-01-05, version 1.21.0* Optional watchfaces are now missing some options. The ones with dark red on black backgrounds are hard to see. The one with teal and white on the dark background is now missing. The syncing is not complete. Goes to 100% and then to zero then up to 15% and stops. Says syncing is complete but no workout out data is synced from the watch to the app. Unpairing watch, turning off the bluetooth, reinstalling the app, reconnecting the bluetooth, and resetting the watch changes nothing but losing the workout data on the watch. Resetting the watch to factory setting does nothing but lose the watch workout data too and can lose your chosen optional watchfaces. ### 5/5 — Really like the watch and app. *2023-04-24, version 1.19.0* Every now and then the GPS will not synchronize. I believe that to solve this is to have the watch attempt to find GPS then synchronize the app. Seems to work fine afterwards. The health data, walking heart monitor, steps all work as expected. I do wish for some more analog watch faces. You have Peanuts. Using the app to set up and configure my watch was simple and quick, and I was ready to go in minutes. Reviewing data from running/biking (route, pace, cadence, HR) is straightforward. Workouts upload to the app and to Strava shortly after finishing workouts. After the last update, which pinpointed and corrected battery life issues, I have 56% left after roughly 20+ days of continuous wear and use including GPS runs. You guys are amazing and have created the perfect running timepiece. All the battery life I expect from a wearable and all the features I need with none of the bloat.
