Timmy is the first and only Pomodoro timer social network. Launched in mid-April of 2020, the TimmyTimer.com website is already motivating hundred of students, software devs, artists, and knowledge workers around the world to stay focused and get stuff done. Since all timer notes are public, you can see a fascinating activity feed of every member's current timer notes. You can Like other timers, Follow other members, climb up the leaderboard, and send and receive private messages of support. The social accountability that results from making your goals and results public is a magically strong motivator. This iOS app is an extension of our website at TimmyTimer.com, and offers the same features and functionality found there. By using the iOS app, you'll get push notifications on your phone (and Apple Watch) when your timer or break is over. This is almost exactly what I described to my dad in a recent conversation that started with, “You know what, someone should make an app like this for people with ADHD...” Downloaded yesterday and started using today. Been very helpful so far. Glad you like Timmy. :) -Ron ### 1/5 — Kept freezing *2020-06-06, version 1.0.6* It was great to start but then kept freezing so my timer wouldn’t turn on. ### 5/5 — A Productivity App That You’ll Actually Want to Stick With *2020-05-21* I’ve tried tons of productivity apps and haven’t stuck with them, but Timmy is actually different and super. The idea is very simple, You set a plan for what you intend to get done and a timer for how long you expect it to take. Once the times up Timmy gives you a prompt to make a note of what you accomplished. A break timer starts up to give you a chance to get up stretch or whatever need be and then you can start a new timer and keep on knocking stuff out! What makes this app perfect is that it doesn’t encourage any time wasting. Just a simple note for the plan and the result so you stay on track and stay accountable. On top of that there’s extra accountability since your plan and result is posted into a public feed for your friends or other users to see. It’s just social enough to enhance your productivity without being a time vacuum and I always feel motivated to accomplish more. I think you could take this to the moon - consider adding teams of 100 people in the future as the user population grows. You could gamify many aspects of this, not just in this brilliant social way - while maintaining the simplicity. Looking forward to seeing where this goes. ### 5/5 — Love in the time of quarantine *2020-05-21* Timmy sets itself apart from other Pomodoro timer apps through the leaderboard system that has a 24-hr rolling clock that allows you to see how much time other users have put in throughout their day. Having this app during the quarantine period lets me have the feeling of being in a library as if I were surrounded by productive people. Having the leaderboard allows me to quantify my total work done for the day and sort of “game-ify” the grind as I try be in the top 10. I usually push myself to be #1 just because of the leaderboard. Glad you like Timmy. :) -Ron ### 5/5 — Great Way to Stay Accountable *2020-05-19* I’ve been using the Timmy Timer website for a couple days now, and now that the iOS version has been released, I knew I had to try it out. First of all, Timmy is a great way to hold yourself accountable while trying to get work done. I always had trouble staying focused while working on my own projects, but this app helps solve that problem for me. Once I hit that “Start Timer” button, I know that I need to stay focused on my work otherwise I will have to tell the other users that wasn’t able to stay focused (hence the “accountability” aspect of this app). If you have found yourself with a similar problem, I would highly suggest you try this app. As a competitive person, the leaderboards are also an awesome feature as I am always trying to find more work to do so I can add more hours to my total and climb up the leaderboard.
