Had a problem with the sound but emailed developer about it, who replied right away and fixed the problem....if your mute button is on the sound doesn't play properly. Brilliant app ### 5/5 — Lovely character, great animation, fun to share *2012-07-05, version 1.2* My children and I took to Timmy from the moment he invited them to tickle him on the first page. The activities are the star of this app, with the story loosely holding them together. Some are just for fun, while others help with colour, number and matching skills. We have had lots of giggles together as Timmy makes himself into different kinds of fruit, whips disguises on and off, or tries to stay upright on his roller skates. The xylophone page is our favourite of all. The app is a lot of fun for preschoolers, and really geared towards their needs. The animation is really high quality too. My eldest being almost four just adores the painting and my youngest (almost two) loves tickling Timmy and playing on the xylophone...the only problem is that we only own one iPad, so I've downloaded the iPhone app and problem solved. I just downloaded it for my Godson who now wants to play it all the time. His favourite pages are the xylophone and the fancy dress outfits. He loves it. It's especially great to get 2 functions in one app though. Both the interactive book and the colouring in features are great to have for Timmy. So much hi quality variety in one app. Thanks so much. ### 5/5 — Timmy Tickle *2011-08-29, version 1.1* This is such a fantastic app and well worth the £2.99 I paid for it my 4 year old loves listening to the story being read to her and investigating all the pages, and after which she will read it again telling us what Timmy is doing. The application has a great way of teaching the children there colours, numbers in fun and unique way. The funny pages where Timmy is roller skating and washing up always provides laughter and many open ended questions. Not only do I recomened this as a parent, I am within the childcare industry and I know from past interactive books I have seen this is One of best available. They love the various activities (especially the washing up!) and all the bright colours... I have found free Apps for my children with more to offer. ### 3/5 — A bit basic *2013-06-07, version 1.4* Our daughter enjoyed this briefly, but it was pretty short lived. The animations are a bit jumpy and the quality of interaction is pretty basic. The character is fun though - nicely conceived and a good choice of animal - kids love octopuses! A slightly missed opportunity however - a lot more could have been done to make it compelling for kids. Maybe development budgets were tight. It isn't a learning game really - there aren't key learnings for kids to take out of it that I can see other than learning about touch screens. A bolted on colouring book helps provide an alternative to the main linear activities but again, it's a bit basic and didn't hold our daughter's attention for that long. So, it's OK for a short period of play :) ### 3/5 — Beautiful looking but mine keeps freezing *2011-07-22, version 1.1* This is a really sweet app for children and toddlers. However every single time I run it, it always freezes and crashes once it gets to the fourth slide. Plus, for some reason the sound is not always synced with the visual, which is a shame. That's the only reasons I have for giving it a three. It is both a interactive story book and a coloring book, that relates to the story pages. There are many tasks to be completed with Timmy, such as activities of daily living - doing dishes and dressing up, counting, music - including instruction on playing songs on a xylophone, matching, and lastly saying goodnight. The narration and sounds are just right in pitch and tone, and offer encouragement to proceed. There are many play schemes that can be acted upon after reading and playing Timmy Tickle.
