I went through the tutorial and even then I had a difficulty understanding what they wanted me to do with it because a lot of it goes against what watercolour painting is actually like. Zen of watercolor blends *2025-05-26, version 4.1* Gorgeous. Elegant. Intelligent. Captivating. It’s not just a beautiful game—it is an engaging (borderline addictive) game to play. It’s also giving me insight on how to make brush strokes flow. I am actually painting beautiful things! The motion graphics on “completing” a painting or challenge are rewarding in and of themselves! Origami flowers butterflies and more fly and flit off the page in joyful celebration of you ur good work :-) ! The realism of the watercolor on artists’ paper is phenomenal. Add in soothing soundscape as a bonus. Mostly games that are this well made graphically have lame mechanics — tint is the exception. I truly love everything about it. It’s Minimalistic— yet has tiny details that are just enthralling!! It lets you save & share your “artwork” (in a lovely Polaroid style image). You can redo any level (bc you can solve the color mix but realize it could be prettier so you can repaint it!!) or skip any you don’t like. Zen mode is creative and has little surprises that keep it Zenteresting (as opposed to many games’ zen modes which are just downright zzzzz). I’m really amazed I love tint so much. I am a pretty picky gamer. Besides the 3 minuscule picky very slight irritations listed below, this game is as close to perfect as it gets. Tint is one of the best games I’ve played in a long long time. It may be the only one I’ve ever thought was so good it inspired me to write a serious review. Devs: My only teeny tiny 3 complaints are 1. Accessibility. While it has colorblind mode, that’s only the ui, not the directions or icons. The contrast for icons is low and the thin script fonts are very hard to read. You can’t zoom in so you have to guess a lot. Pretty, yes, but at the expense of usability on occasion. But— it’s so intuitive you figure it out quickly. I’d love to see a “tap to read” feature that enlarges the tooltip or icon & description. 2. The undo button undoes all your strokes. Not one at a time. That’s a bit frustrating if you have only messed up the last one. I don’t think there are enough separate strokes at any given time to warrant a “clear all” since most of us can tap undo up to 4 times without wishing there was a reset. 3. The moving page background (especially butterfly section & flower section—those leaf shadows??) makes me dizzy and hurts my ADHD. This has to be against some TOS or should be. Every time I open the game it starts me from the tutorial again.
