Tisch Fishing Bistro is a freshwater fishing companion that answers the two questions you ask before packing the rods: is it worth going today, and what should you fish for? It brings weather, solunar data and real river measurements together into a single rating for every hour of the coming week, anywhere in the world. The species guide holds 128 freshwater fish and now covers all six inhabited continents. You pick a continent, then a country, then a state or province where that matters, and see which species live there, how common they are and when they are active. There is data for 167 countries: 51 in Africa, 45 in Europe, 27 in Asia, 21 in North America, 13 in South America and 10 in Oceania. The countries whose waters differ most inside their own borders go further still, so every state of the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, India and China carries a list of its own. Every species is illustrated and described in full: habitat, behaviour, feeding, the water temperature it prefers, the months it is active and practical advice on baits and lures drawn from twenty bait and lure types. All of that text is translated into every language the app speaks, not only the interface. River levels come from official gauging networks, Croatian Waters in Croatia, the United States Geological Survey in the United States and the Canadian hydrometric service in Canada. You see the river and station name, the level, the flow where it is published, the time of the reading, the distance to the station and whether the water is rising, falling or holding, with a chart that sets the last seven days beside the coming seven. Where no national network publishes readings, a modelled flow trend covers most of the rest of the world. Everything reads in metric or imperial units. The seven day forecast is rated hour by hour from wind, air pressure and its trend, temperature, cloud cover, sun position and moon phase, and the river feeds into that rating as well, so water falling back after a rise scores far better than a river in full spate. The screen breaks the rating into the factors behind it, so it can be argued with rather than simply trusted. Solunar major and minor periods, sunrise, sunset, moonrise and the moon phase sit beside it, and a home screen widget carries the coming days at a glance. Closed seasons are covered for seventeen regions, thirteen European countries and, in North America, Minnesota, Michigan, Texas and Florida, each with the responsible authority named and linked, and a warning on the species card when a fish is closed today. Where a region genuinely has no closed season the app says so instead of showing an empty screen. Local regulations always take precedence over the app. You are not tied to GPS. Search for a place by name or choose a point on the map, tap the star to keep it, and a row of your saved spots sits at the top of the forecast, so switching between them and comparing the week is a single tap. The catch log keeps photographs, weight, length, lure, place and notes, and records the conditions at the moment of the catch by itself, from temperature and wind to pressure, moon phase and the rating. This release brings a new look throughout. Every screen is drawn over deep water, the app opens on a short underwater film, and the dark theme is now the default. The river screen is far quicker than before, and forecast and river data are kept on the device for up to two weeks, so out of coverage the app still opens with the last readings and states exactly when they were taken. It never passes old data off as current. The app speaks fourteen languages: Croatian, English, German, Italian, Slovenian, Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese, Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Greek and Turkish. Oceania, South America, Africa and Asia have joined Europe and North America, taking the species guide from 60 fish to 128 and the region data to 167 countries across all six inhabited continents, with separate lists for the states and provinces of the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, India and China. The whole app has been redesigned. Every screen is now drawn over deep water, the dark theme is the default, and the app opens on a short underwater film instead of the old loading animation. The star that saves a spot is back, and the forecast screen carries a row of your saved spots at the top, so comparing the week between them takes a single tap. The river level screen is much faster. Stations appear as they arrive instead of the page waiting on the slowest source, and your position is taken from the last known fix rather than a fresh satellite lock. Forecast and river data are now kept on the device for up to two weeks, so the app keeps working out of coverage and tells you exactly when each reading was taken. ### 2.0.0 — 2026-08-21 The app now covers North America as well as Europe.
