### 4/5 — Just started

*2024-12-15*

Looking good so far see how it goes after a few days

### 4/5 — Fair overall

*2024-02-16*

The game is fair overall, the rewards are small but frequent, gameplay is challenging yet fair, if leaning slightly towards the enemies favor on higher difficulties. My only real issue is I have a quest to reroll my daily selection, however due to a bug I’m encountering I cannot watch any ads in order to finish the quest. Likewise I cannot get any benefits to the ads. Whenever I watch them, if/when I try to cancel out of the add or the time runs out and I am supposed to collect my reward, the game freezes and I have to restart the app with no reward given. I hope devs could fix this or let me know how to fix it.

### 3/5 — Fun but broken ad integration

*2023-12-22*

Cannot complete or exit ads so cannot do the “Refresh shop” task for chapter 8 of the guide. Frustrating in an otherwise fun and challenging game.

### 4/5 — Just started playing

*2023-03-14*

Just started playing it still getting used to it but is pretty fun i put 4 stars for now till i get further in then I’ll change to five

### 3/5 — Fun to play but high pay to win wall

*2022-10-23, version 1.3.6*

Review part says optional so why do I have to write a review on top of the title to submit?

### 3/5 — Get better

*2022-05-30, version 1.3.5*

Great update on 5/30. Game is broken now

### 5/5 — Lovely

*2022-05-18, version 1.3.4*

Lets you really mix things up with different character all having sets of cards for the deck building aspect, very fun.

### 3/5 — Decent concept but subpar execution !!

*2022-03-25, version 1.3.0*

The game seems perfectly balanced, to the point where even the perks have a draw back when you select them. The game doesn’t seem to give you even an inch. In my view some of the bosses are unnecessarily challenging. At the lion titan on the second valley will be the first paywall. My main issue with the game is in its mechanics—it’s too random. When the commands become rng it’s difficult to set up actions properly in order to get the desired result. Aside from this the game seems to be decent. When the clan system will come into play I think the game will improve. Unnamed cave is my favourite mode, it allows one to learn which team combinations are efficient and effective. I log in every day just to play that mode. The rest of the game modes are nothing to write home about. Overall it’s a fun game, rewards are pathetic, and mechanics are super rng. I dig the concept but not the execution.

### 5/5 — Love it, few ads

*2022-03-24, version 1.3.0*

It's hard to find free games where you're not constantly bombarded by ads. You can watch a few ads power day to get extra things but they're not necessary.

Gameplay is fun with a gentle learning curve.

Artwork is unique without being too out there.

Great game, can't wait to see more!

### 4/5 — Not bad for a gacha game

*2022-03-16, version 1.2.9*

Game claims it’s a ‘deck builder’ but that’s only half true. It’s really a gacha game with deck building mechanics.

See, you have your heroes, which you randomly get from chests, which you get for progressing through the game, doing dailies, spending premium currency, and in order to make your heroes stronger you need to collect multiple copies of them…you know, like every other gacha game.

But where it differs is in the game play. Each hero in your squad adds 3 cards to your deck. Some are basic and only have simple attack and defense cards, others bring cards that have additional effects which might synergize well with other characters to form a more complex and strategic deck.

Each level is divided into ‘waves’ consisting of one or more enemies. You always have up to 3 cards, and a base of 4 actions you can do a turn. When you play a card, the remaining cards shift to the left and you draw a new one. You can also skip an action which discards the left most card and you gain a mana point needed for particularly powerful cards. The strength of your cards is based on your party’s total stats, not the individual character that grants that card.

It’s not a bad game at all and I’m actually quite enjoying it. Which is much more than I can say about most free to play gacha games I’ve tried. My biggest complaint is that it uses a finite stamina/wait to recharge system….I hate those with a passion and the devs are lucky I didn’t delete the game as soon as I noticed it.

### 5/5 — Interesting build deck

*2022-03-05, version 1.2.7*

Unable to log in with apple id when change other device

### 5/5 — Absolutely Phenomenal

*2022-02-24, version 1.2.7*

Beautiful style for the game. The gameplay is smooth and has great mechanics. The survival mode is also unique. This is the first game I’ve seen that type of PvP style. I’d like to see a campaign added for extra role playing and possibly character names with back stories to assist with finding my favorite instead of just who is most useful. Other than that, the game is well worth 5 stars.

### 4/5 — Good game, but lacks long term enjoyment

*2022-02-17, version 1.2.6*

This is a great game. It’s entirely possible to play free as long as you only pick it up every couple of hours or so, which to be honest is just like every other free game on mobile. Story mode and pvp is both fun and tactical, although you have to play for a bit and carefully read your characters and find synergy to build good teams.

The two gripes I have with this experience is an optional tower mode that feels out of place, lacking the strategy that makes the rest of the game great, and the static pvp system. You beat someone and you go up in rank, but your rank never resets so it starts to become boring due to the lack of rewards, from rewards every set to only rewarding after 50 wins in a row.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2022-01-23, version 1.2.4*

The gameplay if fun and engaging(even for a gacha game) with all sorts of competitive multiplayer elements, a ton of rewards right off the bat, and virtually no ads whatsoever

### 3/5 — Feels like an alpha game

*2022-01-17, version 1.2.4*

The game seems fun at first, but quickly becomes a joyless grind.

Once you have a decent team setup, the only way to improve it is to get more cards, which means days and days of playing without any change.

Hall of Valor is stupid. It’s not fun or rewarding. Stop giving me more tickets for it.

Stop doing the chest animation unless the contents are unknown. There’s no reason for it when buying cards from the store (which is the primary way to progress).

Overall the game seems poorly thought out. The challenges and systems need to be reiterated with the player experience in mind.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t load game

*2023-01-18, version 1.3.6*

Game won’t even load past the intro. Looks cool?

### 1/5 — Insane difficulty unless you pay to level up

*2022-06-01*

The game is extremely difficult, almost unbeatable if you don’t pay to get level ups.

### 1/5 — Constant Crashes

*2022-05-10, version 1.3.3*

I can’t get past the start menu without this game crashing. RIP

### 1/5 — Not roguelike

*2022-01-13*

I'm not quite sure they understand what roguelike means.

### 1/5 — Game crash and cannot join

*2021-09-29, version 1.1.7*

This is my second day for the game, and I was locked out because weird game crash. I couldn’t do anything even after remove and download the app again. The charming part is I just spent over a hundred bucks in the game

### 1/5 — 10% strategy, 40% luck, 50% Repetition

*2021-09-16, version 1.1.7*

The art is consistent in style and unique.
At least there is no Auto button.
The winner will be whoever spends the most time in the game.
I don’t think there is much here to satisfy people who actually enjoy deckbuilding roguelikes.

Choose 5 characters to take into battles. Each character has 3 cards. In total, you have a 15 card deck.

Each turn you are presented with 3 cards. Play one of them or “pass” to discard the left-most card and gain 1 mana.

Gain characters through a gacha system. Due to the small size of the cast and lack of tactical control, the meta leaves little room for creativity.

Newly featured is a daily challenge that removes all your planning or potential advantage - get a prebuilt team of characters, then try to beat the enemy. Challenge tuning varies wildly. Some days, the challenge is a mere luck fest because the deck composition rarely allows for meaningful tactical decisions. Though I expect the user-engagement and ad views will increase thanks to the RNG.

### 1/5 — Cannot play

*2021-07-27, version 1.1.2*

Each stage of campaign requires 1 stamina to play; you get a max of 5 stamina. Here’s the kicker, stamina regenerates 1 every hour. Of course you can pay real money to play more.

### 1/5 — Not worth your time

*2021-07-18, version 1.1.1*

Passable combat mechanics, bad art, horrible predatory gatcha monetization and progression. Basically, a failed attempt at a F2P Roguelike card game like the hundreds of other ones on the market. If I’m going to spend money, I’d rather buy Slay the spire for iOS and stick to the OG that started it all. Don’t waste your time

### 2/5 — Paywall Lock

*2021-12-06, version 1.2.1*

The game is solid, don’t get me wrong, but having the Valhalla Pass lock you out of rewards past the lvl 6 bonus is just unfortunate. I won’t play a game that does this, bottom line.

### 2/5 — -3 stars and one player

*2021-11-07*

This was an awesome game until the last update.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Exactly what I wanted

*2024-04-21*

I just wish they kept up with updates and finished aspects. Adding even a global chat would really help with the overall feeling. The game is great.

### 5/5 — Fun

*2024-01-29*

I bought it for a rogue like game. I think there was a rogue like option for purchase but I can’t seem to find it. That’s the only downside for me, it would make for a good rogue like if possible. The missions seem a little short for my liking so far, the longer the missions the more your characters can grow and advance. I may be wrong and may have overlooked the roque like option

### 5/5 — Great Game under the radar

*2023-07-02*

This is by far my favorite deck building strategy game.
Not a lot of fanfare.
But it’s a hidden gem.
I hope the developers keep adding content and updating it!
KUDOS!!

### 5/5 — Best rpg

*2023-02-21, version 1.3.6*

Best game I ever can find in this App Store and it taken my attention a lot of time on this game, I highly recommend player who like to play tactic game.

### 5/5 — Refreshing

*2023-02-19, version 1.3.6*

A game that rewards you for solving tough puzzles with better characters to solve tougher puzzles. Great structure and very fun to play

### 5/5 — Great hidden gem

*2023-01-01, version 1.3.6*

At this point this game is a hidden gem but could easily become a popular game. It has all the trappings of a free to play game but I don’t feel any pressure to buy stuff.

It has the art of darkest dungeon, plays like a card based rogue game. Easy to pick up and put down in a couple of minutes. Strongly looking forward to seeing this game down the line.

### 5/5 — Very interesting!

*2022-11-03*

This game is awesome! Especially, I like this design!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2022-09-04, version 1.3.6*

This game is awesome, don’t listen to any negative reviews. Great Job 👍

### 5/5 — amazing

*2022-08-31, version 1.3.6*

an overall good experience makes me reminisce on playing darkest dungeon!

### 5/5 — So Much Fun!

*2022-08-10, version 1.3.6*

I can’t believe influencers missed this game. It is such a great take on the Slay the Spire formula. Having a party of adventurers instead of just a single character adds the fun of team-building to the tried and true formula. Give this one a try!
