## What is TLAP Tactics?

TLAP Tactics is a 3D tactics board for football coaches, built to be presented — on the iPad in your hands, or through it to the screen in the dressing room.

SET IT UP
• Pick a formation for each side, or start from a drill: a 5v2 rondo, a 4v4 small-sided game or a passing diamond.
• Full pitch, half pitch or final third, with zone overlays and your own kit colours.
• Add players, balls, cones, poles, mannequins and mini goals. Name and number every player.

ANIMATE IT
• Build a move phase by phase. Move the players, add the next phase, press Play.
• The board draws every run between phases for you, and shows the next phase as a ghost while you set it up.
• Draw passing and running lines straight onto the grass.

PRESENT IT
• Five broadcast camera shots — broadcast, top, side, goal and follow — one tap each.
• Cinema camera: a slow, never-repeating fly-around of whatever shot is up, for when the room is watching.
• Dark, glass-panelled controls that stay out of the picture.

KEEP IT AND SEND IT
• Save unlimited boards on the iPad. Everything works offline, on the training pitch.
• Send a picture of the board to the group chat, or the board file itself to another coach, who opens it straight into the app.
• Save pictures straight to Photos.

SUBSCRIPTION

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.3 — 2026-10-07

Arrows that are easier to take hold of, and a board made for iPhone Duo.

Arrows
Touch anywhere along an arrow to select it, and drag it to move the whole arrow at once. Pressing the arrow just in front of a player now takes the arrow, not the player. With Draw selected, an arrow can be started right beside a player without picking the player up.

iPhone Duo
Unfolded, the tools sit close to both edges and step around the camera, so the pitch gets the space, whichever way up the phone is held.

Pitches
Changing the pitch, its colour or the drill brings the camera back to the broadcast view, side on, and stops the orbital camera, so the new pitch is always shown the same way.

Phases
Press Play and the move runs on from the phase you are on to the end, and stays on the last phase when it finishes. On the last phase, Play runs the whole move again from the start. Stop leaves the board exactly where you stopped it. Loop and speed still change while the move is playing.

### 1.3.1 — 2026-10-06

Goals you can turn, players to scale, and phases that keep your place.

Goals
A full-size goal, nets and all, is now in Add beside the mini goal, and the mini goal is half its size with a net of its own. Select either and turn it with Rotate — 15 degrees at a time or a quarter turn — to line it up on any end line, corner or channel. Every goal's net is now clearly visible.

Players to scale
On a half pitch, final third, penalty box or drill grid, the players and the ball are drawn smaller, so they sit in proportion with the cones and goals around them.

Phases
Play runs from the phase you are on again, and when the move finishes — or you stop it — the board comes back to that phase instead of jumping to phase 1.

Presenting with the orbital camera
Tapping the screen to bring the present bar back no longer stops the orbital camera, so the camera keeps flying while the move plays. The present bar has its own Orbit button.

Reset
Reset now gives you a full pitch with 4-3-3 against 4-3-3, keeping your kit colours, marker style and pitch colour.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-10-06

Present mode, your club on the board, and a cleaner set of tools.

Present mode
Press Present beside the board's name and the tools step aside: both side bars and the timeline slide away and the whole screen is the board. One small bar stays at the bottom to move between phases, play the move, loop it and set its speed, and it fades away on its own so the room sees only the pitch — touch the screen to bring it back. Press End, in the same place, to finish.

Glass
The side bars, the camera bar and the timeline are now true Liquid Glass, so the pitch shows through them rather than being covered by dark panels.

Spotlights
Draw now has a Spotlight. Tap players to light them with a soft beam from above — it follows them through every phase. Tap a lit player to remove their spotlight, or turn them all off at once from the Draw menu.

Clearing up
Tap anywhere along an arrow to select it and remove it. Remove all arrows and Turn off all spotlights clear a busy board in one press, leaving the players where they are.

Your club's crest
Add your club's badge in Settings and it sits beside the board's name at the top of the screen. Tap the crest at any time to change it.

Club colour, straight away
Pick a new club colour in Settings and press Apply: the app repaints in a moment, and your board stays exactly as it was.

A clearer top bar
The club, the board's name and the formations now sit together on one panel at the top, so they no longer run across the advertising boards behind them.

Tools that say what they do
The left-hand bar has been reorganised. Draw makes arrows, Shape & Drills holds the formations and drill presets, Library keeps your saved boards, and Settings holds your club name, colour, crest, advertising boards and subscription. Only the tool you are using is highlighted, and an open menu closes as soon as you tap the pitch or choose something else. The camera on air is highlighted the same way, and a selected player's panel has a Done button.

Formations
The formation list now shows the shapes teams actually play — 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, 4-4-2, 3-4-2-1, 4-1-4-1, 3-5-2, 3-4-3 and the 4-D-2 diamond — and on iPad all of them are on screen at once.

Squad numbers
Tap a player, then the number box, and type any number up to three digits. The number pad now has a Done button, and your change is kept even if you put the keyboard away by tapping the pitch.

Phases
Ten phases now fit along the bottom bar before it scrolls, and the button to add another is always in reach. Play always runs the whole move from phase 1, Loop can be switched on or off while it plays, and a finished move returns to phase 1, ready to play again.

Top camera
The overhead view now frames the whole pitch clear of the menus.

Sharing drills
Hold a saved drill to share it or delete it. A shared drill arrives in the other coach's Saved drills, ready to use, and opens on their pitch. Saved drills now show a small picture of the drill instead of a blank pitch, and deleting one always asks first.

Saved boards
A saved board or drill now reopens exactly as it was left, with its pitch colour, zone overlay and every arrow in place. Boards and drills opened from the Files app or iCloud Drive now open reliably.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-10-05

Now on iPhone, with your own drills.

iPhone
The board runs on iPhone as well as iPad. It is landscape on both — turn the phone sideways and the whole pitch is there, with the same cameras, the same drills and the same phases. The tools rail becomes two columns so every control is on screen at once rather than hidden behind a scroll.

Your own drills
Shape has a Saved drills row beside the four presets. Set the board up the way you run it, tap Save this and give it a name, and it is there next week. Tap one to put it back on the grass; press and hold to remove it. A saved drill keeps the arrangement, not the whole move, so it is a starting point you build from.

Runs
The lines showing where each player goes next are now a switch in Colours, and they start off. They are what you want while building a move and in the way while presenting a shape.

Selecting and deleting
Tap a marker and it takes a ring, so you can see what you have hold of. Tap one, then Select all, then Delete to clear the board in a single step — and a single Undo brings it all back. With the Line tool up, touching a player now moves that player; only a drag on the grass draws a run.

Clearer chrome
The live camera is marked with a dot level with its icon rather than a bar against the label. The camera rail now runs the full height of the tools rail, so the two frame the pitch evenly. Trays sit on a darker panel, so a drill name stays readable over the advertising boards behind it.

Boards you have saved on an iPad open on a phone unchanged.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-02

Guided tour, club branding, and improved legibility.

Guided tour
Opening the board for the first time now starts a short walkthrough covering the cameras, moving players, formations and drills, pitch settings, phases and saving. Each control is demonstrated on the board itself rather than described. The tour can be skipped at any point and reopened from Help.

Club branding
Help now includes Your club name. Set your club's name on the slate at the top left, and choose the accent colour used for every active control. Thirteen colours are available, each one tested for legibility against the dark interface.

Orbital camera
The slow rotating camera, previously called Cinema, is now Orbital, with an icon that reflects the movement it performs.

Improved legibility
Secondary labels, the subscription terms and unavailable tools were all too faint. Contrast has been measured across the interface and increased where it fell short.
