The basic version of the app is free.  It predicts aircraft performance using user-entered weather and elevation information in a static fashion like a calculator.

The pro version requires a subscription, but offers significantly more features and capabilities. It dynamically recalculates performance in real time responding to the aircraft's 3D position and automatically updated weather conditions. With the addition of airfield information from either the included 73,000 airfield global database or user-defined airstrips, TLAR computes additional performance metrics such as predicted height by end of the runway on takeoff, bearing, distance, glide path, and descent rate required to the airfield, predicted stopping point on the runway during landing, approach stability on short-final, displaying that status visually, and audibly in your headset (for aircraft with communication panels that can connect via bluetooth or cable to your phone). The pro version allows the pilot to set tailorable safety margins and warns the pilot if predicted performance will violate any of the set safety criteria.

The expert version adds patent-pending emergency glide functionality, telemetry recording, and automatic landing zone loading. It will tell you where and how high you will be when your aircraft will be capable of conducting an engine windmilling turnback to the runway on takeoff or in cruise. During takeoff and climb it will show you your current wind-corrected glide footprint and announce on headset your latest abort point, when a turnback is possible and show you the route of flight back to the runway along with your predicted altitude when reaching the runway.

The expert version also has a heads-up display, NEXRAD radar, custom plane types, and store telemetry. We continue to add features to this version.

Supported iPhone models: : X and up

Operating system: iOS 17 or better for new interface (14.3 thru 16 will download the legacy TLAR version which has nearly the same functions, but a different interface).

Supported iPad models: cellular models required (GPS) with minimum A12 chip performance or greater

### 2/5 — Very US centric

*2025-11-25*

Needs to provide an option to show baro in Hpa and fuel in litres.

**Developer response:** You can select units using the unit settings menu. Baro options are inHg and Millibars. Fuel options are gallons, liters, pounds and kilograms.

### 5/5 — Really useful tool

*2024-09-24*

Very helpful tool. Highly recommend it! And inexpensive on top of it all!

### 5/5 — Kind of confusing, but does what it says…

*2023-10-07*

I met the author at OSH, AirVenture and was sold. This data should be in all EFBs. A lot of information in a small space. Needs a iPad version.

### 5/5 — No Brainer

*2023-07-26*

This is a Fantastic tool for your flight/Simulator flying. The pricing at $1/month is a Super Bargin. If you ever wanted a quick way to see and use your aircraft’s performance, this is IT!!
