## What is TMECHS Attendance Helper?

Simple Attendance is built for teachers who need a fast, organized way to record daily attendance and student compliance checks.

Create classes by period, add students, start attendance sessions, and quickly track whether students are present, wearing their lanyard, and in dress code. The app also keeps session history so you can review past attendance records and see class-level compliance patterns over time.

### 2.3.6 — 2026-08-20

Take notes on a student without leaving your roster.

Swipe any student while taking attendance to record what you saw — a behavior concern, missing work, something that went well, a parent call, or an intervention you're starting. Tap one of the suggested phrases and most notes are done without typing. Set a follow-up date and it comes back to you until you mark it resolved.

Your notes are private to you. Note by note, you choose whether to share one with an administrator, and that sharing ends on its own at the close of the school year. Administrators can read what you share — they can't change or delete it.

Also fixed: a crash that could happen when attendance synced in the background while you were still working.

### 2.3.5 — 2026-08-19

More reliable syncing: refreshing while a background sync is
running no longer causes duplicate uploads, and the syncing
indicator now stays visible until the sync actually finishes.

This release also adds automatic crash and error reporting, so
problems that happen during a scanning session get diagnosed and
fixed faster.

Improved student name readability, fixed alphabetical roster ordering, and refined attendance record editing and removal.

### 2.3 — 2026-07-29

Attendance is now faster and easier to manage. Tap a present student to edit their attendance details, track whether students are on task, and review updated comportment grades based on ID, dress code, punctuality, and on-task behavior. This update also improves student-row layouts, prior-session editing, school branding, and overall reliability.

### 2.2 — 2026-07-28

Added the ability to track off-task behavior in the attendance tracker. This feature is calculated in the Comportment grade report to track student behavior in dress code, wearing of the ID, arriving on time, and staying on-task.
