What is the use of having an app if you can’t get into it? And the search engine trying to find a restaurant that uses this app, doesn’t give me everything within a 10 or 20 mile radius. It’s rather useless. ### 2/5 — Needs to improve user friendliness *2025-08-11, version 2.9.3* The app is too dependent on location- I made some reservations on vacation and it kept making that location my default for months. Also, I made a reservation but didn’t get an email and there is no way to view reservations on the app. And the search is really clunky. There are a million of these reservation services and they’re all somewhat annoying and make the process more difficult, but I literally spent an entire day on Tock’s website, mobile site, app, and the phone with the restaurant I wanted to visit, switching browsers, switching devices, updating iOS, all for nothing. The restaurant is one of the highest rated in my city and has grown world-renowned, and I have been trying to get a table for my anniversary for two years, but once a date was finally available, I find out that although Tock keeps taking my credit card info, it won’t reserve anything for me, telling my my name was “typed incorrectly,” then not allowing me to choose that date or time again. The restaurant has entwined its system with Tock and I apparently cannot book my reservation any other way. Moreover, the dates available on Tock are not actually available, so it seems Tock is making things needlessly complicated for the restaurant, too. The biggest slap in the face is that the restaurant used to use a different service I’ve used before. I'm disappointed so many restaurants are switching to this app, but it's probably less of an expense since it doesn't offer much. ### 1/5 — If there was any alternative, I would use it! *2024-09-01, version 2.8.2* I will start by saying the only reason I still have this app is because they have cornered the market and there is literally no alternative to them! They have made a lot of exclusive experiences and restaurants can only be booked through their application. Thereby keeping you from even attempting to go to such events or places unless you use their app or platform! I have attempted to use their app and platform and if it’s a place that’s not frequently booked out it works fine but if you want to go to a place that sought after good luck, you’ll never get in the application in both websites constantly crash because they can’t handle the traffic flow or the amount of people that are trying to get to it. It’s been over 10 minutes since the round of bookings has opened up and still won’t even move next month on the app on the phone for myself. Similar thing happened last month and I reported to customer service they kept telling me for over a week that there was no problem on their end and it must’ve been my Internet connection or improper use of their application implying multiple times that I’m an idiot, without directly stating! Well, this time I have it on video so we’ll see how they get out of it this time. Like I said, worst customer service he’ll ever deal with your life and if there was another way, I would definitely do it. ### 1/5 — iPad app crashes on launch! *2024-08-25, version 2.8.2* Wondering if validation was completed on this app given that it just repeatedly crashes on launch. It’s ancient old technology. Try setting a reservation and it just defaults back to the current date. Every other reservation system is accurate and easy to use, especially compared to this mess. ### 1/5 — Map Feature Needs Fixing *2024-02-20, version 1.115.0* I’ve been hoping for years that the map feature would let you search different neighborhoods and select dining options but almost everytime you take the map somewhere else and click on a restaurant to check their availability the app just brings you back to where you are located and shows the nearest restaurant. Support makes it so that when you reply to their email response it bounces. They refused to help and got charged for the reservation for the wrong day. I may not be able to make reservations at certain restaurants because this buggy app is used by many restaurants but I will not use this app and risk being out over $500 again ### 1/5 — What happened? *2025-06-29, version 2.9.3* 75% of the time the app won't search. Tap the search here area, nothing happens. Why would you have it set up this way? So frustrating. I selected a Saturday time slot for my reservation and once I pre paid for the whole meal at checkout. My reservation and confirmation email all showed that my reservation was for the following Monday what??? The Saturday date and the Monday date are on opposite sides of a Sunday to Saturday Calendar it is literally impossible for me to miss click Monday (I have short thumbs). When I reached out they were dismissive and said that they only book reservations and told me to contact the restaurant. Well Tock you can’t even book Reservations right and your motto should be “Book more than a table you get a free headache” ### 1/5 — An Absolute Joke of an App *2025-04-02, version 2.9.2* Oh, what a masterpiece of an app—truly a triumph of inefficiency! Somehow, it manages to be worse than just using their clunky website on a mobile browser. Want to book a popular restaurant? Good luck! The second reservations open, this app just sits there, refusing to refresh like a stubborn mule. Your only option? Kill it, restart, and by the time you’re back in, surprise! Everything’s fully booked. Bravo! ### 1/5 — Terrible App for Reservations *2025-03-08, version 2.9.2* This is the worst app I have ever used for making restaurant reservations. It takes me to Ft Worth every time and I live in Dallas. When I try to make a reservation at the specific restaurant I want, the app says it can’t open. The choices are minimal. Why a restaurant would choose this app is beyond me. Very, very frustrating to use. It is impossible that it has as many 5 star ratings at it says it has. Clearly the app owner is manipulating the process. Do not use this app if you can avoid it. ### 1/5 — Time zone disaster! *2025-02-09, version 2.9.1* NEVER make a reservation using Tock before you travel. My Google calendar includes reservations from 5:00pm to 10:00pm for a single 7:00pm reservation. How does that even happen when I’ve only traveled CONUS since I started planning this trip? Most people rating this app must never leave their home time zone. If pictures were shareable, I would have sent my screen shot with 3 automatically saved Google Calendar Events (5:00, 7:00, and 10:00).
