Heck ### 3/5 — Great mag, poor app *2015-04-05, version 5.7* Controls are so clunky compared to the best. Worst thing is mag can only be read in portrait mode; really annoying. Don't buy till they have sorted out the App. ### 1/5 — The worst Customer service *2015-01-12, version 5.5* I previously subscribed and subsequently cancelled because the digital app was broken. However I decided to resubscribe over Christmas as the app has been rewritten and they had a great price. Unfortunately I've cancelled again as this time around I can't access the app with my subscription and customer service is almost non existent. Its a great mag though so you'll have to make do with the paper version. ### 1/5 — No interest in service *2014-08-06* Awful app surpassed only by the appalling level of service. No one in customer service could/would help and in the end despite my complaint I was told i has already paid and despite no magazines being readable I was stuck with my subscription. Thankfully the actual magazine understood, said they had lots of similar issues with other customers and now they send me a hard copy each month. Will not be using this company again! ### 1/5 — Don't Subscribe you won't get your Mowbray back! *2014-06-16, version 4.0.1* I'm loath to even give this App and digital magazine 1 star! The number of one star reviews tells it all and I can relate to nearly all the adverse comments by reviewers. Customer service is nothing short of abysmal. Despite numerous emails, supplying all info requested and making at least 3 phone calls no resolution or access to the magazine since 10th May 2014. Despite twice asking for a phone call to discuss a solution and been promised contact, no phone call received. I contacted Bauer on 11th June when I formally cancelled my direct debit and asked for a full refund and was promised a call from a manager to confirm, no call received. I contracted Bauer today and eventually spoke to a manager (Luke) who refused a refund (company policy, that seemingly over rides the Sale of Goods a Act!) but he promised to investigate and get back to me tonight with a solution. Strangely enough no contact yet but it's early yet (23.00hours). My advice is don't touch this app or digital magazine with a barge pole and I'd probably say the same risk could apply to all other Bauer digital magazines! ### 1/5 — Very poor *2014-05-02, version 4.0.1* Good mag, next to useless app. Trial issues loaded fine but subscription issue just shows "pay or subscribe". Apparently app developers are working on a fix. Avoid this version! ### 1/5 — Poor effort! *2014-04-30, version 4.0.1* After subscribing, able to access one issue then asked to pay. Poor customer service: ignored requests with standard reply. In my opinion, you should stick to paper copy because digital version in a simple PDF (no extra features). That's if you can actually access it!!!! ### 1/5 — Worst customer service ever *2014-04-26, version 4.0.1* AVIOD THIS APP. It does not work, if you want to read this magazine, go buy a paper copy. Customer service is useless they cannot help you unless it is to take your money. Anything else has to be passed onto the "technical team" who will call you back - NOT!!! Tried every day for over a week and promised a same day call back many times - never happened I am now trying to get my money back ### 1/5 — Useless *2014-04-02, version 4.0.1* Wasted an hour of my life signing up, signing in, being redirected and signing in. I still can't see a magazine, as it just freezes saying queuing 0% downloaded. Doesn't deserve 1 star. I'll stick to the paper copy! ### 3/5 — It's OK but... *2014-01-04* I bought a copy of the Feb issue for 99p - happy with that. However the purchase process was odd, bouncing me through stores and requiring my password twice. At the end it did not appear to have worked but once I pressed the restore purchase button the mag appeared. My gripe is that I cannot get the navigation bar to work so I have to flick through every page. When I went to the app help page I was directed to a non-existent page on the Today's Golfer website. So I open app let the loading bar go through and then a thing says sorry app wont load because of poor internet connection for which I do have full cell and internet service on my phone. It needs fixed ### 1/5 — Poor accessibility on mobile devices *2020-11-02* Try reading anything on an ipad and you spend ages find the right size by fiddling with your two fingers like bambi on ice. There are so many that do it right why not use the same method. Take a look at one of newspapers like Telegraph or Bazaar they do it much better. Broken Upgrade highlights Very Poor App Quality. *2018-12-13* I took out the subscription and generally happy with the magazine. BUT the recent upgrade means the app crashes after the first read of any issue. It then won’t start again without removing the app and reinstalling it. Makes the whole thing a complete waste of money,irrespective of the generally ok content. A VERY unhappy (ex) app user ### 1/5 — Can't get to work with iPad mini. *2018-04-08* Works ok on iPhone but can't get to work properly on iPad mini. Opens ok but keeps dropping out after about 10 seconds. I've cleaned up the iPad so I've got 10gb free space and latest software update but still unstable. This is really distracting when reading. The images are of terrible quality too - the reds specifically are very pixelated. By comparison, Golf Monthly is full screen and all the imagery is razor sharp. Kind regards. ### 5/5 — Strangely Comforting *2022-11-17* Since losing dad to COVID I have returned to golf after a 15 year gap. I moved back to my local village to be there for mum and rejoined the golf club dad helped build in the 1970s. Playing the course he helped carve out has been a great source of comfort but so has my subscription to Today’s Golfer. When it falls through the letter box, I look forward to the hours of reading it cover-to-cover. Getting lost amongst the course reviews and planning trips with my mate to new courses. Reading how equipment has changed and smiling knowing a better swing with 25 year old kit will produce better results than a forgiving club. Hints and tips are addictive to all golfers and I find myself testing and trying things on the range. Some of it works, some of it doesn’t but the trying is fun. The clash between LIV and PGA interests me, I reflect on Packer and cricket, and the formation of the Premier League, all,controversial in their day. The readers comments often resonate with me but most of all I have been enjoying the articles on women’s golf and watching the players who I believe make it all look so simple. Love to read the player interviews. pick up some tips and look at the latest clubs.
