## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App crash

*2024-02-01, version 2.1.4*

The app keeps crashing as soon as you open it

### 1/5 — Crashes Immediately

*2023-04-13, version 2.1.2*

I have iPad OS 16.4.1 and it crashes about a second after starting it, I hear a few beeps then it closes?

### 1/5 — Mal

*2023-03-08, version 2.1.2*

Se cierra y no llega a abrirse en mi XR

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work.

*2021-11-15, version 1.6*

App crashes almost immediately after you open it. Can’t be used.

### 3/5 — Buggy

*2023-09-21, version 2.1.3*

The app freezes when scrolling the main menu

### 3/5 — Definitely interesting

*2023-09-11*

The app and widget are nice but it definitely isn’t able to keep current time accurately. Sometimes for 30 minutes or more. Otherwise it definitely has potential

**Developer response:** Unfortunately that is an Apple limitation, it updates as soon as it can and we developers can't do anything about it 🥲

### 3/5 — Cool, but it could be better

*2023-02-11*

I was hoping the widget would be what the menu screen is. My bad I suppose, but If you could make that the actual widget I would pay a buck or two OTP for sure.

**Developer response:** HI! sorry but i didn't understand your comment.. this is a widget, you can customize it as you want and insert it in the home screen of your phone. that's what it does. I hope I have answered your doubts!

### 4/5 — Good app

*2023-09-21*

Also noticed stardate doesn’t update automatically as a widget which makes it pointless to use at all.

### 4/5 — One refinement would get five stars

*2021-09-12*

This is a nicely done and presented app. My one refinement would be to offer the ability to set a base date equal to a particular day-month-year rather than simply year. E.g., I would like to set it to 20 July 1969 (first moon landing) or 08 September 1966 (premier of Star Trek on television). Otherwise, very nice.

**Developer response:** Hi, first of all thanks for the review!
as for the use of the complete date to calculate the stardate, I honestly don't know how to develop it without upsetting the current mechanism: the calculation I use is based on the one specified on Wikipedia and I would like to use "standard" values (even if that's all fiction :-))
In case you want to calculate a specific date, you can do it in the "calculate a date" menu, but I guess you already knew that.
Live long and prosper!

### 5/5 — Question

*2025-11-10*

I love you app. It’s both efficient and a pleasure to look at. I was wondering what method you use to calculate the dates.

**Developer response:** Thanks! If you're interested in the calculation, I've written the whole reasoning in "options and information" / "how it works"!

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good app!

*2025-07-25, version 2.1.4*

Not sure why there's so many poor reviews, it works perfectly fine (for me anyway!) Love the many different customisation options too :)

### 5/5 — Great app! Does it also work for Apple Watch?

*2024-05-05*

I really liked the app, easy to use and aesthetically pleasing, I would like to know if I can use it on my Apple Watch! Thanks!

### 5/5 — Finally

*2023-10-23*

I have been waiting for something like this forever. Thank you

**Developer response:** Thanks to you!:)

### 5/5 — Star Date Calendar

*2023-07-05*

This star day calendar is an awesome idea.
Thank you very much I give it five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ .
Keep up the good work design and upgrading the app. Starfleet command will be so happy.

**Developer response:** Thanks!!🙂

### 5/5 — Formula for 2023  StarTrekPicard stardates

*2023-03-21*

SD=1000*(U/S/L + D));
 U=Unix time;
S=Seconds in day=86400;
L=Legth of year in days=365.25;
D=Difference between Unix and SD epochs=1970-1945=25 years;
Point= percent of time=hours/24

### 5/5 — Nice App- Almost what I was looking for

*2022-09-14*

This is a great app that gives some nice widgets for displaying the date information in generates. I gave it 5 stars because if does what it says and works well within those parameters- but it was not what I was hoping for.

What I was looking for and was hoping this app could do was to display GMAT Modified Julian Date - the date/time system that NASA and astronomers use as it provides a single numeric value for date and time - for example as I am writing this the Modified Julian date is 59836.542241 - this app allows one to create a Star Date and create widget- I would love (and pay for) an app that did what this application does - only using the real “star date” (Modified Julian Date).

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2022-01-12, version 1.6*

My only request is for a larger widget. Otherwise it’s perfect!

**Developer response:** Thanks!❤️
A larger widget?maybe in the future, who know..🙂
