An easy-to-use, open-source two-factor authentication app designed specifically for iOS. Tofu generates one-time passwords to help you protect your online accounts. These passwords are used together with your normal password when you sign into services like Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Amazon, and GitHub. Tofu works with all services that provide two-factor authentication using the HOTP and TOTP algorithms. It does not require a network or cellular connection and can be used in airplane mode. Simple with no bloat! Absolutely amazing! ### 2/5 — great app, massive issue *2026-02-21, version 1.11* this would be undoubtedly the best authenticator app on ios if not for one thing. this app is missing a supported way to export your keys. your totp keys are not viewable, they are not even saved to your icloud storage. this sucks. if you lose your phone, the app is deleted, your phone is wiped, or anything like that, your 2fa codes are gone. this sucks. this app doesn't seem to be maintained. i cant recommend tofu, but i've yet to find another 2fa totp app that is as good and simple as this one. very unfortunate. if the developer is reading this, you know what to do. ### 4/5 — The best authenticator app on the market *2025-09-19, version 1.11* When will we get a dark mode app icon though!? ### 5/5 — nice, but… *2025-05-23, version 1.11* stored codes did not restore when phone factory reset ### 1/5 — Dead Development *2025-04-23, version 1.11* Seems to be dead. Last update on the appstore was a few years ago. The original dev passed the app onto his friend who has made changes to the backend app but not anything since June 1st, 2024. This is an amazing 2FA app, very minimalistic but it is missing a ton of QOL features. ### 1/5 — There is no backup *2025-02-12, version 1.11* The app is fine until you have to reset your phone and you find out there is no backup function. Now I have to go through each service, disable 2FA, reset my phone, and enable 2FA for each service.
