I have been waiting on a shipment since December, and I have been going back and forth between both shipping companies and TokyoCatch, and there is NO assistance whatsoever. This app has a term that says they are not liable if items do not get sent to you. KEEP THAT IN MIND BEFORE YOU SPEND MONEY! What do you mean I spend money to win prizes, pay for shipping, and then there is no assistance whatsoever because they use BAD NOBODY shipping companies to save money. I have sent proof I have contacted all THREE shipping contacts, with EACH ONE saying the packaging is now missing, that I had sent to TokyoCatch as proof.. AND I'M STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE A MONTH LATER!!! BFFR!!!! Just tell me I won't be seeing my items at this point. I'm moving off this application for poor practices. Circles🤷🏼‍♀️ ### 1/5 — Find another app or support your local arcade *2026-02-13, version 3.0.07* When I first downloaded this app a couple months ago I thought it was great. Got a couple play tickets for signing up and a couple more for linking socials. I even won an item with one of those tickets. But then it started to go downhill. They have a free play ticket daily login bonus but you only get that perk if you spend money on gems. And the cost of gems is completely different on web versus the app. It’s actually cheaper on web. So if you’re a Free To Play player prepare to be frustrated with the amount of ads you’ll have to watch to earn enough gems to even play. Not just the 10 you earn every 6 hours but from all the app games you can slowly earn gems from but get ads practically after EVERY level. The gem cost of some prize figures have even been going up without any notice or reason. You have to win at least 3 prizes within a 30 day period before they ship anything to you and if you don’t, you lose your prize(s). Yup. You don’t get to keep them or have any other way to ship them to you. They just keep them. The Email Help Desk is nice enough but 90% of their answers are copy/paste of their policies and don’t answer your questions 100%. They just ignore or not acknowledge anything you say that they can’t copy/paste an answer about. Also, be sure to screen record EVERY PLAY you do. Otherwise if you have to file a dispute you may not win because they will ask YOU to provide additional longer video proof, even if their play video literally shows the issue. Lately I’ve noticed more and more prizes have to be won with assists because if you watch videos of the latest wins many of the prizes are in places they would not normally be. And to even get an assist many times you have to pump in a ridiculous amount of tries. I counted 19 tries on a stuck prize before I even got an option for an assist and when they were assisting I was removed from my play for no reason and the next person got my assist and prize! With some back and forth with help desk I got refunded the gems but I lost out on the final prize I needed for shipping. Like others have pointed out, unless you have a ridiculous amount of free time to spend earning gems with a stupid amount of ads or have hundreds of dollars to spend on figures, toys, and plushies that are worth half of that, you should find another claw app, actually buy these prizes for far less, or support a local arcade. ### 3/5 — Fun App *2026-02-12, version 3.0.07* This is a fun app for real-time online crane games. The prizes are up-to-date and frequently refreshed with items from Japan. But there are several bugs. For example, you may get kicked out when you purchase new gems during the game, so that the previous attempts will not be counted for getting assistance. When you requested assistance, the timer may stop and you may get kicked out as well. Some staff are very professional and helpful, but others are stubborn and do not listen to your explanation. But now they’re charging $20 for shipping if you don’t have a minimum of 3 prizes, seriously? That’s insane, I’m definitely not a fan anymore and probably will end up deleting it. ### 1/5 — Deceitfully fun at first until they scam you out of money *2025-12-28, version 3.0.05* Had a lot of fun playing for figures in the beginning. The free shipping seemed too good to be true. But when I tested with one figure, worked great. They changed their policy to requiring at least 3 figures to ship for free. However, the boxes come damaged because there’s no packing or bubble wrap in there. And they refuse to take responsibility or reimburse. The app and web version both have extremely high rates of technical malfunction and unless you screen record everything, they won’t reimburse you. The last straw was when I lost out on significant amount of money playing for a prize, and luckily had been recording, but the machine malfunctioned and I could not continue playing. “Anne V” customer service representative refused to reimburse despite video evidence , and their robotic replies have been nothing but frustrating and disrespectful. You can get free plays fairly often, and free shipping once a week. But after playing a few weeks I’ve lost multiple plays to glitches (you can get a refund, but make sure to record all your plays to prove it). The changed the shipping to require 3 prizes before you get free shipping, and each prize expires in 30 days so you’re pressed to keep playing to keep the prizes that are going to expire. Also the free ticket plays do not qualify for free shipping. All in all it’s no longer a good deal and now feels like a genuine waste of money. ### 1/5 — Support team are only there to scam you *2025-12-09, version 3.0.04* Don't waste your time and money on this online crane game. The service have gone down hill in the past years. Most of the machines are rigged, forcing the players to play until they hit assist if they wish to win the prize. The support team are incompetents who can't do their job right and will opte for the easiest solution to make their job easy, which is do deny any legitimate problems that are encountered. The only time they will bother to try to resolve an issue is if the player have recordings of the encountered problems that could serve as evidence against them by exposing how terrible the plateform is. Don't waste your time with them. Avoid this terrible company and app and you might as well go to Japan and played there or go to your local claw machine business like Round1. This place is a negative F ### 1/5 — Ehh *2026-07-05, version 3.0.15* If you ever want to feel worse about anything, just play some of this (especially if you can’t afford to throw money around). If you rely on tickets alone (may take a few days to get enough to actually win something— only to get cut off and watch someone else take the prize you’ve been working on. Saw the same guy hogging a machine for hours just scalping prizes like crazy. Honestly every single time I open this app I get a pit in my stomach and my hart sinks. I already have 2 prizes waiting and gems for play - but no access to the app. It just keeps throwing me back to update … and I update and it says update over and over again ### 1/5 — Nope *2026-06-16, version 3.0.14* Such a scam, I waited in a reserved queue for a figure(I was 3rd in line) and the person playing was NOT using the crane for a solid 2 minutes. The game did not switch the turn onto the player and the crane looked almost frozen, Until after 5 minutes I finally decided to leave the queue, only to click back on the figure not even 5 SECONDS LATER, and the prize was won(I checked the video it shows of the previous player winning the prize, and the position of the prize was NOT in the same position when I previously clicked off, it looked like the same crane game, but at a different time) ### 1/5 — Updated review *2026-06-12, version 3.0.14* It’s been a while since my last review, and this review needs to be updated again for the third time. More players are leaving TokyoCatch because of the scammy tendencies this company loves. These machines are comparable to slot machines as the three-prong claws are set on a payout rate rather than actual skill. Two-prong claws are weak, I’m highly doubtful they can even pick up a pencil. And the prizes are presented in a way that makes them seem they are about to fall when in reality they are wedged in the bars with such a force by the employees that it would take 50$ plus to actually push the prize through with the weak claw. Also, connectivity issues are still persistent. If you lose connection you face the possibility of losing the machine and being kicked to the back of the line while the “vultures” take your prize. Yes, there is a community of people around this game that just sit in the app all day and only queue in line when they see someone actually spending money to get a prize. And if you don't give them the machine they claim you are a “whale” and complain how you should have given up the machine because they are the bigger fans of the franchise of the item therefore they deserve to have your prize. 🙄 If you want to play for free, you get a free ticket every day that expires in 24 hours. But, some prizes cost more than one free ticket to play. If you’re into anime and figure collecting I very much recommended this app!
