Es ist wirklich eine supertolle App, durch die man viel einfacher lesen kann. Etwas schade ist es, dass man in der App keine neuen Bücher kaufen kann, aber das lässt sich durch den Tolino einfach regeln. Was mir in letzter Zeit aufgefallen ist, dass ich keine, bisher nicht runtergeladenen, Bücher herunterladen kann, dabei erscheint dann nur eine Meldung , dass dies aufgrund technischer Probleme nicht möglich sei. Das wäre schön wenn das im nächsten Update gefixt werden könnte beziehungsweise eine Lösung dafür gefunden werden könnte. 
Ansonsten sehr schöne App, einfache Bedienung. Den 5ten Stern gibt es sobald ich wieder Bücher runterladen kann.

Edit: durch die superschnelle Antwort konnte ich das Problem beheben und es läuft wieder alles einwandfrei

Unlike Kindle ou Apple Books, there is no way to use a dictionary in Tolino iOS app. Translation and web search are available but depend on internet connection. Is there a plan to support the built-in dictionary function of iOS?

### 2/5 — Für e-Reiseführer ungeeignet

Ich habe mich für eine Reise bewusst für ein eBook als Reiseführer entschieden. Mit den Ausführungen des Reiseführers war och zufrieden mit der Benutzersteuerung über die App nicht. Das führt mich zu einer der schlechtesten Bewertungen die ich in 2025 schreibe.

Mithilfe der App ist es möglich Bücher die als PDF erworben wurden zu verwalten und zu lesen. Alle Devices kleiner als ein Tablet sind eine Zumutung ob der dargestellten Größe worauf man vor dem Nutzen der App oder dem Kauf von Reiseführern nicht hingewiesen wird. Auf IpadOS wiederum hakt die Seitensteuerung und öffnet sich nicht zuverlässig durch tippen. Mittels Texterkennung ist das Inhaltsverzeichnis in Kapitel eingeteilt die mit den jeweiligen Kapiteln im Buch verlinkt sind. Soweit sinvoll. Der Index hingegen ist nicht verlinkt so dass man bei der Recherche mehr mit Seiten wischen anstatt finden beschäftigt ist. Ist bekannt auf welcher Seite der Inhalt steht muss man erst ins Übersichtsverzeichniss wechseln um zu wissen welches Kapitel die benötigte Seite enthält denn eine direkte Eingabe der Seitenzahl ist innerhalb der App Steuerung ebenfalls nicht möglich. Hat man sich verschiedene Highlights mittels Lesezeichen markiert so sind in der Lesezeichenliste ggf. mehrere unbeschriftete Einträge gelistet die weder darauf verweisen in welchem Kapitel, noch auf welcher Seite das jeweilige Lesezeichen verweist. 

Es tut mir Leid zusammenzufassen das an den Bedürfnissen stetig vorbei entwickelt wird.

### 2/5 — Great books, Bad App (Tolino)

I love that Hugendubel has many more German language graphic novels than any other e-book sellers. There varety is fantastic. However, the app is not user friendly. It does not allow you to read landscape. And it has only the original size and a slightly magnified size. There is no zooming in and out to any size like other apps Kindle and Apple iBooks. It’s rather substandard.

### 1/5 — The worst e Reader in history

My cat could have created a better e-reader.  The entire experience from purchase to reading with Orwell Fussli online books has been awful. You don’t get a link to download the books into another e-reader. The app isn’t really an app, but a web browser. One one book, I can’t change anything! One font size, no night mode or direction of reading mode.  I have to zoom in on each page because it defaults back to a small font. Every single page you have to zoom in to read! I am upset that I can’t read these books elsewhere. It seems I did not buy these books, but rented them. This is a total scam. Never will I buy an ebook from Orell Fussli.

Since a few years back this app was just bad. I cannot tell you how many errors I encountered just for switching airplane mode on and off. Or how the last reading position wasn’t saved… Or how the page layout sometimes won’t render properly, resulting in text that goes beyond the screen…Lately the app won’t even work anymore if airplane mode is turned on - even though I always download the ebooks I am reading for exactly that: offline reading…. Just fix it already and apply some 2024 standards to this app.

### 2/5 — Annoying audio bug

It’s an ok app in general but whenever I switch to the app, it pauses whatever audio is playing (usually Spotify in my case).

This is annoying yet manageable when I’m wearing earphones because I can use the hardware buttons to play the music again. But when I’m using the phone speaker or connected to a Bluetooth speaker, I cannot listen to music and read at the same time, which I love to do. Even pressing play from the control centre or notification screen on iOS is useless because it pauses again as soon as I am back in this app. Please fix this soon!

Seit ein paar Wochen ist ein Hochladen in die Tolino Cloud nicht mehr möglich. „Aufgrund technischer Probleme ist es zur Zeit nicht möglich, diesen Service zu nutzen.“ Von alleine wird auch nichts hochgeladen. Die umgekehrte Synchronisation scheint auch nicht zu funktionieren. Im Browser geht's, leider ist das unglaublich schwierig, weil der jedes Mal die App öffnen will... So ist die App leider nicht gut benutzbar.

Edit: Funktioniert nach Neuinstallation wieder einwandfrei. Ausloggen hätte wohl auch gereicht. Besten Dank an den Tolino-Kundenservice!
