I’m a full-time homeschooling mom, home-maker, and also do various tasks for the business that my husband and I own. The TOM rocks tracks are the best thing ever! I get chores done so much faster and more consistently. Gemma is a genius and a saint for making this system and especially the audio parts of the app! I genuinely can’t remember what life was like without it! I first came across it when my soon to be 16 year old was small and it was my game changer. I think the one of the for the app is well worth it, for those lower reviews complaining that it’s just a load of lists, well they are missing the point and the beauty of it all. It’s not just a load of lists, it’s a really well thought out tried and tested method which has been beautifully grouped together in highly satisfying tickle lists. On top of that I pay for, and absolutely love, the Tom Rocks guided cleans. There are keep me company sessions too for all of your day-to-day tasks such as unpacking shopping, clearing your inbox, even pottering in the garden. As well as doing the thinking so you don’t have to, they are full of compassion and camaraderie. I am so very thankful to Gemma and the team for this app, because it genuinely makes my life easier, and when there’s a lot of stuff out there that seems to be trying to make it harder, it’s nice to find a little yellow square of peace to help me keep the housework under control. If I clean on my own my ADHD takes over….there are a million things to do and I keep jumping between tasks. When I clean “with Gemma” I just listen to what she tells me to do and actually finish tasks! My house is much cleaner when I follow this method. I love being able to compartmentalize the cleaning. I just do it and then it’s done for the day and then when I notice something else I don’t have to worry about it. It’s helped so much! I have a terrible memory and no time perception, so I struggle to do tasks for reasonable lengths of time. I would either spend all day hoovering the stairs or go two weeks without remembering to do anything. This app has changed my life. The TOM rocks recordings measure my time for me and keep me motivated. This enables me to do a little bit of cleaning everyday and, as a result, my house is sparkling. I can’t believe what a difference it has made. I look forward to my TOM rocks sessions and get quite excited to do them everyday. That’s quite an achievement for someone who hated, and was terrible at, housework. The only negative for me is that the name is unnecessarily gendered and anti-childless. I’m a long time listener (even back in the Patreon days) and I tell everyone about this app and my ‘personal trainer for housework’. Life is so overwhelming and when the clutter takes over my sanity and it starts to affect my self esteem, these guided cleans are just so satisfying. I get stuff cleaned in maybe 10% of the time as I don’t get distracted and try and do too much at once. I’ve never managed to keep up with the daily schedule due to work and family chaos but when I need a blast of motivation and someone to keep me on track, I access the guided cleans in the vault and life feels better and more manageable within 30 mins. It’s such a boost to my mental wellbeing. Gem is amazing. However, over the past year or two of using it, I have run into several issues which I have contacted support about. I have not once received a reply - even when I went to the trouble of updating them when I accidentally replicated an error as I know this is key in bug fixing. I asked on their Instagram why I don't get replies and they just told me to email the same address I'd been using. In all honesty, I gave up! As I said, a great premise and the current app is a great improvement on the old design, but their customer support really lets them down. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for your review. It is more about casual chatter, more like a radio than a cleaning app. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work now *2026-04-29, version 2.4.8* Requires updated iOS and you now just get a blank screen. No good for people like me without the space to update phone. ### 1/5 — Constant bugs and minimal responses *2025-10-16, version 2.4.0* I’ve had so many issues with the app, which is extra infuriating as the whole premise of it is to save time, not waste it! I email again and again to the support team but all I’m told is “this is still with the developers”. The rest is a ‘guided cleaning program’ that is a glorified checklist. I haven’t been able to access the app or the TOM Rocks sessions for nearly a week since they did the latest update which made it incompatible with tablets. I only use the app on my iPad because it’s not convenient to use it on my phone. Two emails have been sent and I still cannot access the content I have paid for. All I got back after my first email was a very curt and short response saying they are working on it and it should be back to normal very soon. That was 48 hours ago. No apology for the inconvenience, no explanation. I have asked them to refund the money they took by direct debit on 25th May because I cannot access the app and they have not replied. I have cancelled my subscription now because I have no faith in the so-called “support team.” It is unacceptable to take money from customers and then not supply what they have paid for. As regards the guided sessions, they are fine but quite repetitive and most of it consists of telling you how much time you have got left to complete a certain task. You could just set your own timer for this and save yourself £3.59 a month and a whole lot of stress when it comes to deal with the ‘support’ team. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for your review. This wasn’t really clear. Contact customer support and they say about replies will be slow due to the holidays. The holidays were over 44 days ago. That’s not very organised!! Would like my money back please! ### 1/5 — Really disappointed *2025-01-15, version 2.2.0* I loved the book and decided to buy the app to make it easier for myself. But the app is really disappointing! Lots of features that don’t work! I tried to change my week start date from Monday to Tuesday, it tells you it’s updated but it’s not! You swap dates, again it says that it’s updated but it’s not applied on your daily tasks. You start the 30 min timer and it pauses when your screen is locked! So disappointed! I would have piles of washing to put away and wash, and I just didn’t know where to start with anything, I felt really lost. I seen this app promoted on TikTok and I had to give it ago not really having high hopes because I’d tried loads of stuff before like cleaning books etc and none helped. However I was pleasantly surprised that after 3 weeks in I’d been sticking to my tasks and keeping on top of my housework. I no longer have piles of washing to wash and I am in a good routine now! I did a two hour session today, as my home really needed a once over after my latest adhd burnout. I am sloooooow at cleaning and I constantly get sidetracked or not moving around efficiently from task to task. honestly didn’t think I was gonna sign up after the trial because of the book but I think I will now, for as long as it gets my dopamine going at least.
