## What is Tome | 5.5 Spells?

Tome is a fast, beautiful spellbook and character companion for the 2024 edition of the world's most popular tabletop roleplaying game.

Browse every spell by level, read the full rules on a frosted card laid over original artwork, and search instantly. Build a spellcaster and Tome computes your Spell Save DC and spell attack modifier for you. No math at the table!

Spell lists now show a requirements line right under each spell's name: casting time, concentration (with its duration), and ritual, all visible at a glance in both the list and minimal layouts.

• Many more character options: new backgrounds, subclasses, and a new species — granted spells appear automatically in your spell list at the right level, labeled with their origin.
• Pro content now always stays visible: if you're not subscribed you'll see it with a lock, ready to unlock anytime.
• Improved character editor: set your level first, choose a subclass from level 3 (per the 2024 rules), and new rows show what your subclass and species grant.
• Play mode: heal a downed character, a live concentration timer, and clearer death-save tracking.
• Homebrew editors now truly discard changes on Cancel.
• Many fixes, accessibility improvements, and updated translations.

• Prepared spells now follow your class table: Tome counts and caps them by level
• Non-spellcasting classes can browse and prepare from the full catalogue
• Slimmer character editor, standard starting HP, plus bug fixes and polish
