## What is TomoTomo?

I read fast and listen slow, or the other way around depending on the day. Either way, I got sick of losing my spot every time I switched from the ebook to the audiobook version of the same book. So I built the app I wanted.

This isn't a store and it isn't a subscription. If you already own the ebook and the audiobook, however you got them, TomoTomo just works with the files you have. No new library to buy into, no locking your books behind another app's account, no paying Amazon a second time for something you already paid for once.

TomoTomo tracks exactly where you are in a book, down to the character. Pair the ebook with its audiobook and switching between them carries your place automatically. Same session, no prompt, it just works. Come back the next day and it'll ask if you want to jump to where you left off.

You can also search the text for a line you remember and jump the audiobook straight to that chapter. "Play from here."

The whole thing is plain text on purpose. No shelves of cover art, no streaks, no little badges. Just the words.

What it does:

Reads your own EPUB and PDF files, full screen, nothing in your way
Plays your own M4B and MP3 folder audiobooks, with real lock screen controls
Pairs books to their audiobooks automatically, or manually if it guesses wrong
Finds a passage in the text and jumps your spot to it
Syncs at the chapter level, or in real time if you turn on follow along
Lets you highlight and keep notes as you read
Adjustable font, spacing, and five themes, including true black
Playback speed and a sleep timer, because obviously
Works completely offline. No account, no tracking, no calling home
There's also an optional companion you can turn on if you want to ask questions about the book you're reading, get caught up on the last chapter, or talk through what just happened. It only goes online if you turn it on, and only for that.

That's it. No gamification, no login wall, no upsell before you've even started reading, no renting access to books you've already bought. Just your books, staying in sync.
