### 5/5 — Awesome for SAR

*2023-08-15*

This is a great app for search and rescue. Numbers are large and easy to read out in the field and I see it in UTM for SAR use but also in lat/long for helicopters.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2023-02-13*

Large easy to read display, simple to use Very useful to have a preset message which embeds location and can then be sent as a text message or via social media, such as What'sApp, Signal etc

**Developer response:** Thank you Bob, I’m glad you find the app useful.

### 5/5 — Pure and simple

*2023-01-19, version 3.0.0*

Finally, I’ve found an app that does the one simple thing I want - show me my gps co-ordinates! No maps, no “what’s around me” fluff, just my co-ordinates, pure and simple!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2022-07-12, version 3.0.0*

Great at what it does. Fast, simple gps coordinates. Doesn’t drain battery.
Would be perfect for Apple Watch.

### 5/5 — Happy

*2022-06-02*

Fine

**Developer response:** Thank you.

### 5/5 — Just one thing

*2020-06-23*

Excellent app and the only thing missing is that it doesn’t tell you if the compass reading is magnetic or true

**Developer response:** Hi Midlancs, I’m pleased you find the app useful. FYI the compass is reading based on magnetic north. John

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-02-24*

I couldn’t even get my garmin to display 2 Moses at the same time.

### 5/5 — Latest update hid UK OS map reference.

*2020-02-24*

A disappoint when I first updated. With the older version you swiped between Lat/Log and the UK OS map refs.
There is now one page that defaulted to Lat/Log. I have been into prefs. and added UK OS map refs. to that page.

**Developer response:** With the larger screens on modern devices it has been possible to incorporate both formats on the same screen which I hope you find more convenient. If you have any feedback on the updated design, please feel free to contact me, tom@tomstrails.com

### 5/5 — 5 stars

*2020-02-20*

### 4/5 — Simple, quick and accurate

*2020-01-01*

Allows for various units and settings as well as exporting info. I like being able to simply swipe to access either UTM or Lat/Long coordinates.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2018-08-10*

I love this app and use it regularly to survey Badger setts for my job and report fly tipping to the local council.

### 4/5 — EXCELENTE

*2018-04-24, version 2.2*

Muy buena, la recomiendo.

### 5/5 — GPS User

### 5/5 — So simple - just what I’m after!

*2017-12-11, version 2.2*

Great for backcountry adventures in Australia where UTM coordinates and altitude are the key navigation parameters for topographic maps.
Explore with confidence!

### 5/5 — Super useful!

*2016-09-11*

Wonderful app, superb support!

### 5/5 — Excellent for finding your location.

*2016-02-05*

This app is great for checking your location on a map with the grid reference. It would be excellent in an emergency to let someone know where you are. The ability to share your location by sending a text or email is great. Saves making mistakes when typing. I must admit to prefering the layout of the previous version. The GPS location and map coordinates were on the same page and the grid letters were easier to read without glasses. I also like the old icon much more.

### 5/5 — Great for exploring.

*2015-08-02*

This app is perfect for sharing your location with anybody.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Won't load!

*2013-06-22, version 1.3.1*

Won't load after I click on current location!!

Read last review also from Guernsey!

Guernsey not on the map with this app!!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2013-05-03, version 1.3*

This app keeps crashing on launch. Useless!

### 2/5 — Just the info!

*2011-03-20, version 1.0*

Gives you the info and that seems to be it! Would be great if you could then easily copy the info so to email or text it to a friend/rescue team! with a sat nav! Or have an email to a friend button?!

### 3/5 — Azimuth

*2023-03-19*

It shows aproximately 30 degrees off

**Developer response:** Hi TuSabor, sometimes it is necessary to calibrate the compass on the iPhone. Hold the phone level and draw a figure of eight. This normally resets the hardware sensor.

### 3/5 — No link to Google maps anymore?

*2015-04-25, version 2.0.3*

Great app, but I used to be able to copy coordinates to notes which would link to Google maps, unfortunately not happening anymore and was probably the best function.

### 3/5 — Tom's Trails

*2014-06-28*

Works very nicely and has UTM which makes it very useful. Wish it had some way to record UTM readings - unless I'm missing something, it only allows you to paste Lat Long coords into a document or google map link format.

### 3/5 — Its a gps.

*2013-06-27, version 1.3.1*

Works well. Large font. Will change to 5 when it realises ipad has gps. Refuses to load

### 3/5 — Easy readout, but lacks functionality.

*2012-05-30*

This is a nice, easy to read app, but it does not allow you to change the map datum. In fact, it is not clear which map datum is being used to generate the coordinates. The addition of this feature would greatly improve this app.

### 4/5 — Azimuth

*2022-07-14, version 3.0.0*

It shows aproximately 30 degrees off

### 4/5 — Accurate but…

*2021-07-23*

Very easy to use and accurate location app. Love the MGRS feature. I may be missing something but can’t get it on my Apple Watch. Does it have this capability?

**Developer response:** Hi, Apple Watch support will be returning in a significant update in the near future.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Hikers review.

*2026-08-06*

Fantastic I love its readability and the developers obvious awareness of the difficulties of field navigation for ordinary people.

### 5/5 — Lat/long and grid 😍

*2026-04-01*

Mag to grid

### 5/5 — Mon meilleur choix enfin

*2026-03-29*

### 5/5 — Luv it

*2026-01-26, version 3.0.0*

Terrific and simple to use app

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2025-10-24*

Brilliant app.
Simple accurate, and no fuss

### 5/5 — Very good

*2025-08-31, version 3.0.0*

Fast and easy to use.

### 5/5 — NAD83

*2024-10-14*

Would be nice if included NAD83

### 5/5 — Best App

*2024-08-15, version 3.0.0*

Simple and works as it should.

### 5/5 — The best location app

*2024-02-09*

Very simple to set up and clear coordinates. You can customise the share location feature to send one or two coordinates system locations e.g. UK Ordinance Survey and GPS Latitude and Longitude. Better that what 3 words as it is much easier to tell emergency services your location as numbers are very simple to understand even over a poor phone connection

**Developer response:** Thank you Mark.

### 5/5 — USEFUL APP

*2024-01-08, version 3.0.0*

To put it briefly, it is unique and practical
