### 4/5 — Fantastic for an app not updated for 4 years!

*2023-02-25*

Once you sync the watch too many times (about a years worth), it might get a little glitchy. However, just do a hard reset of the watch (instructions are all online) and it works perfectly again. For a watch an app that’s over 4 years old, it’s exactly what I want and need and is incredible. I love how it syncs magically to Strava as well. I wish they didn’t discontinue the watch. I hope they come out with a new version of the watch. The app is great!

### 4/5 — Great sports tracker app

*2019-10-17, version 10.0.8*

I love the TomTom Sports app. Gives me all the biometrics and tracking info I need in a simple and understandable format. Use it with my TomTom Adventurer watch and sync it with Endomondo and the MyFitness app for nutrition tracking. I wish it had a gear tracker function like the Strava app has so I could easily keep track of mileage on my running shoes. I used to just sync with Strava for that info but the Sports app no longer connects with the Strava app. Unfortunately, I keep hearing that TomTom is getting out of wearable gps devices and will stop supporting the Sports app. Hope that is not true because I like the TomTom watch and Sports app. Functional and easy to use with all the info I want to keep track of.

### 4/5 — New User

*2019-08-25, version 10.0.8*

Adventurer w/ BT headset.

First off, the headset is the *best*, bar none, wireless gear I’ve ever put in my ears, and rivals many of the wired buckets I’ve owned. Also, the music streaming capability of the watch is awesome.

I do think the proprietary dongle for charging / syncing was a miss, a standard connection would have been preferable.

The integration with the phone is seamless and works well. Love having a buzz on the wrist, before the text shows onscreen.

Now for the app. Overall it’s very informative and intuitive, but it seems to periodically have problems holding connections.

Twice now, in under two weeks, I’ve needed to restart my phone (iPhone 7+) to get them talking to one another again.

As a person recovering from a severe, chronic medical condition, the workouts, and other presets, aren’t relevant to me (yet).

Now a couple of questions.

Is there a reason the feature sets between the local and online versions differ as much as they do?

My wife entered the tracker game well before I did and a competitor’s app does a really deep dive on the sleep side of the equation, differentiating between light, deep and REM sleep cycles. Could this be folded into a future update?

In conclusion, between the hardware and software, I’m quite pleased, but give four stars as a rating due to the connectivity and features aspects mentioned above.

### 3/5 — Good app - needs Apple health sync

*2019-06-18, version 10.0.8*

I have had a tomtom spark 3 for about a year and a half and really like it. The app works well and is easy to use also, with the occasional blip, which is just technology today.

The reason I am not giving 3 stars is that tomtom advertises everywhere that it syncs with Apple health. Technically it does. You can get data from your phone into the watch. HOWEVER- you cannot get data (like steps) from the watch into Apple health.

Developers on the site say it is an Apple restriction. Really? Fitbit does it.

### 3/5 — It’s fine

*2019-06-17, version 10.0.8*

It works pretty well and connects to my watch easily. The watch doesn’t easily display a chart where I can view how many miles i’ve run in the last week. This isn’t necessary, I would just like it. Also, whenever one of my runs is slower than usual, they make sure to tell me that! It’s just not the most supportive app. I recommend linking your account to Strava for a better display.

### 4/5 — Syncing issues

*2019-02-28, version 10.0.8*

I’ve had my TomTom watch for almost 3 years but lately I’ve had issues with the app and the watch not syncing. I’ve had to re-pair the two 3 times this week alone. Is there some thing going on that is keeping them from syncing?

### 4/5 — Great App and Customer Support

*2019-01-23, version 10.0.8*

Been using the TomTom Spark for almost two years with this app and it is relatively flawless. My only gripe is that it takes about four minutes to sync, but that may be technical limitations and not a flaw in the app/watch. That’s a relatively small gripe for an otherwise excellent product.

### 4/5 — Great app, shame they got out of watch business

*2019-01-07, version 10.0.8*

The TomTom watch works really well. And together with the app, you can collect data that other apps like Strava or Endomondo would charge for. And since you can link services on the TomTom site, all your activities can be pushed to another app. I wish I could permanently dismiss some notifications in the Latest tab. I wish I could launch the app into the Activities tab. But overall the link between watch and app is superb.

That said, TomTom got out of the watch business last year. So I'll be looking for other solutions once the watch conks out.

**Developer response:** Hey there,

Thanks for posting this review! We are glad to hear that you like the app and it's features. Glad to hear that you are making the most of it.

We are indeed no longer manufacturing the watches themselves but are absolutely still here to provide support and help our users!

### 5/5 — Love

*2018-09-07, version 10.0.2*

With the tom-tom I have managed to lose almost 60 pounds in the last year my fitness level on the other hand has improved amazingly at 52 years old I feel like I did in my 30s I’m running again and it’s all because of this tom-tom. Being able to track my runs push myself to be in a better heart rate zone and go further in longer has been instrumental in my fitness goals

### 5/5 — Almost perfect.

*2018-08-26, version 10.0.2*

This APP continues to get better and better. I am not going to suggest areas that I might wish for changes. There is simply no way every need for every training application can meet everyones expectations. I appreciate what we have and can work it out for most of my specialties. WillDyeAdventures

### 5/5 — Just what I needed to get back in gear

*2018-08-08, version 10.0.2*

So glad TomTom is still supporting the older GPS watches with the mobile app integration. Mine is from 2015 long been discontinued, I hadn’t used it since 2016 but I dusted it off this week, charged it up, synced it with my new phone and it works like a dream! Love the map my run feature also. Thanks.

### 4/5 — Okay...

*2018-07-20, version 10.0.2*

Tomtom has new and better features than the Nike app, but there are a couple things that would make it even better:

-Shoe tracking
-the ability to write notes with each activity
-the weather from each run (it's nice to look back see "oh I ran when it was 95 degrees and sunny out- maybe that's why I ran so slow"

I have one additional issue with the PRs. Why not keep it simple: (1st, 2nd, 3rd) for normal distance: 1mi, 5k, 10k, 13.1, and 26.2. Why do I need to know the fastest pace for "short runs" like 2 miles?? It's just useless.

Update:
This app crashes every time I open it.

### 4/5 — Why can’t you copy your run to trails through the app?

*2018-06-25, version 10.0.2*

Everything about this app is good mother than the trails and workouts. You should be able to copy your runs to trails through the app and not through the website. It kind of defeats the purpose of having the app.

### 4/5 — Great tracker, poor sharing functionality.

*2018-06-05, version 10.0.2*

Please improve the share function, additional options, more personalization. I’d lie to share my workouts with my fitness community but your current format is way too clunky. Fix this and you’re gold!

### 4/5 — Trouble with accurate syncing

*2018-05-29, version 10.0.2*

I absolutely love my watch and the app for the most part has been easy to use. I don’t have any issues anymore with inaccurate statistics when I sync but I had some issues a few days ago with connecting the phone and app. This has since resolved but it has occurred twice before as well. Otherwise I really enjoy this app and my TomTom Spark 3 Cardio watch!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t use app without internet!

*2018-09-07, version 10.0.2*

I have spent hundreds of dollars on my TomTom watch and cycling sensors... However, I can’t use them because the watch and App require me to login to an online TomTom account to view my heart rate, cadence and gps data!!! There isn’t internet where I ride!!!
I have searched for some way to save MY data to my laptop so I can simply view my data, but no way seems to exist!!!
Many cyclists and other users have NO need to SHARE our data or have TomTom analyze our data!!!
Please develop a program that will simply allow us “simple” people to access our data and save it to our computer!!! A method to download the watch data to a CVS file format would be greatly appreciated!!! Otherwise, does anyone want to buy a cheap bracelet?????

### 1/5 — Something is not right

*2018-05-26, version 10.0.2*

In March, I updated my Spark and the app. Since then, my iPhone and the watch have a great deal of trouble of syncing. Sometimes, the app forgets the watch but the phone does not and I have to remove it from Bluetooth settings and add the watch new. Sometimes I can it it is connected on the watch, in the app, and on the phone, but it won’t sync without dropping it and re-adding. Worked before the big update I did. Is it doesn’t. Would not recommend based on this performance.

### 1/5 — Design less than desirable

*2018-03-27, version 10.0.0*

While I consider myself quite adept at tech devices, setup and install of this particular device was user unfriendly mostly linked to design. I used to be a Fitbit charge user, and have to admit that the technology and design of the Tom Tom device purchased yesterday vs the Fitbit device with two yr old technology have not progressed much.

Neither the Fitbit nor the Tom Tom Charge devices left me impressed.

Example for both ... the synthetic bracelets were not simple / easy to install. It took me a few minutes on the Tom Tom to get both buttons inserted. :-( :-( :-(

After a couple weeks, now used to the ergonomics of the design, except the wrist band ... whose design leaves me baffled given all the simpler options available. Difficult to get both it latched.

Well ... the inevitable happened, and not really a surprise ... the button that latches the wrist band finally lost itself on the golf course and the charge fell off. Hopefully tomtom redesigns the wrist band to be more user friendly.

**Developer response:** Hey there - thank you for updating the review. Please could you contact our support team so that they can assist you with the strap and issue you with a replacement one if necessary. Phone number: 877-757-7137 / Monday - Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST

### 1/5 — Software Updates Drop Bluetooth Sync

*2017-12-29, version 10.0.0*

As many, not a few, have mentioned here and on other forums, the update from September '17 caused syncing issues with the watch to the mobile app. TomTom said to wait for the next update. That was back in October. Well that update is here and it's still not correcting the issue. As they said back in early October, they are aware of the issue. And with this update, they are saying the same thing. Meaning they just don't know.
Yes I've done the troubleshooting with the app on my computer, mobile app, and watch. Forget device, reset, factor reset, uninstall and reinstall.

### 1/5 — Sync problems & lack of notice

*2017-11-23, version 9.0.2*

I have also been having a problem syncing to my phone. I now know that this is a known problem being worked on. It would have been nice to notify your registered uses of this so we could have avoided a couple of weeks of frustration and resets. Very poor customer service.
Updated Nov 23- At the start line of the Turkey Trot this morning and the watch would not work (again). It went back to it’s original date and time when purchased and would not do anything. 2 miles into the run it worked again. Is this also a software issue?

### 1/5 — Love the simplicity but would be nice to update to 2017

*2017-09-10, version 8.0.3*

The app no longer allows the placement of font. It does still update to all social media which is nice but wish they'd include notifications to the devices. I have the TomTom Spark 3. Would be nice to be caught up to 2017 technology. My other complaint would be that posting to social media is too sensitive many times. It's too easy to swipe out of the post and have to start all over. I would also like to see font size adjustment or font style adjustment so that more could be added into the text. Final thing I'd like to see is all workout stats able to be added into the share settings. Please also bring back the color fonts. They were done away with to where you are texts into your social media posts.

**Developer response:** Hey There. Thanks for leaving this review. We have introduced smartphone notifications in our latest watch software update. We have had some feedback regarding the customization options when sharing, so i will also feed this back to our developers to consider for future app updates. - I hope this helps and have a good day! - Reiss @ TomTom

### 2/5 — Ugh!

*2022-10-07, version 10.0.8*

The app is only reading the movement of the phone not the actual steps/information from my Apple health app. And since I don’t walk with my phone while at the gym the app will show I only did 250 steps (which is walking into the gym) when my Apple health app shows I did 3k steps on the treadmill. UGH! Why is this? I really want to love this app because I like the look of it but if it’s not counting ALL my steps it’s useless to me.

### 2/5 — Mixed Feelings

*2020-07-21, version 10.0.8*

I’ve had my Spark 3 for about 3 years. I like the data it collects but am VERY frustrated with the Fitness Age. I’m 59 and work out regularly cycling, jogging and lifting weights using my Spark 3 and the Aaptiv app.

The more often I work out the HIGHER my fitness age is. I watch my points and work effort constantly. This watch makes me feel so defeated, I can barely stand it. I’ve searched online for a resolution and have basically seen only directions on what fitness age is. Signed. Mixed Feelings

### 2/5 — Needs an Update

*2019-10-05, version 10.0.8*

The app definitely needs an update to adjust to the new iOS system. As I’ve seen in other reviews, the app has forgotten my watch and when I delete my watch from the app, it won’t let me hit “watch” to re-pair my device. Please fix this quickly- using this as a training device. There is a way around this bug, which is to just upload directly to a computer but this app was built for the convenience of having that process on your phone.

### 2/5 — Could be awesome but...

*2018-02-11, version 10.0.0*

Needs Apple Watch version.

This app writes to NRC and Strava so if it has an Apple Watch app we could have the trifecta of running records.

I started with Nike+ Run Club so they have my historical data, my running group uses Strava. If TomTom had an Apple Watch app I could import to both right here. From what I see so far TomTom has it all anyway, and they were part of my 1st GPS Watch too so I’d stick with them, but I can’t see getting a 2nd Watch.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-10-21, version 10.0.8*

Gives me pretty much everything that I would want in an app and makes it easy to upload and send my runs to different apps as well.

### 5/5 — Rock solid

*2021-07-07, version 10.0.8*

Hope they keep this app going for a long time. It just works and the same can be said for my old Spark 3 watch. Bulletproof, easy to use tool. I wish all tech gadgets were designed like this. Too bad Tomtom decided to get out of the sports watch market.

### 5/5 — Still using my TomTom!

*2020-10-17, version 10.0.8*

I’m on my 2nd TT Running watch and it’s still going strong! I hate that they quit making wearables but I’ll continue to use this for all of my sports and workout activities until I just can’t update it anymore. I’ve always loved the larger readout, especially as I get older. I can’t believe how well it still works even though the last review is 2 years old. For reference, I have the GPS watch w/built-in heart rate monitor. 😃

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2020-03-19, version 10.0.8*

I really have grown to love this app. It really keeps me educated about my health and my own fitness level. I literally have learned how to track my heart rate during my workouts and after I workout I can check my actual stats during my workout. Awesome app!

### 5/5 — Good experience

*2019-07-30, version 10.0.8*

Overall, I like the watch and the app, been using it for over three years now. I like the statistics part of the app. I dont see an option to have our own pictures taken during a run or ride uploaded to the app and shared in social media. Also the option to show the GPS map of the activity in social media would be good.

### 5/5 — App is fantastic, sad they’re pulling out of hardware game

*2019-03-30, version 10.0.8*

Like the title says, the app is fantastic. There’s little to complain about (one small gripe is that when you zoom in on a map, it auto resizes to the full map view instead of allowing you to move around while zoomed in). I won’t even take off a star because it’s a small issue, but I do wish they fixed it, especially since I reported it as a bug and they confirmed the issue. Doubtful it will be fixed though since TomTom unfortunately has stopped selling the spark fitness watches. I guess they had too much competition from Garmin, Apple etc. It’s sad to hear because they’re product is reliable and accurate. It’s far more economical than other watches that are 2-3 times the price. For me the pros are the lower price, longer battery life, and the fact it does almost everything all the more expensive watches do. I don’t need bells and whistles, I need something that reliably does what it’s meant for. I’ll use the watch for as long as it lasts, but after that I guess I’ll become a Garmin customer in the future unless TomTom changes their mind.

### 5/5 — App has improved brilliantly

*2019-03-18, version 10.0.8*

This is my 2nd Tomtom watch and the app continues to improve. I love how it filters out pause time without me needing to do anything. Snowboarding this weekend I founds the summary at the end of each run so helpful. Keep it up!

### 5/5 — Pais

*2018-12-31, version 10.0.8*

This is my 2nd Tom Tom watch ,my first was a multi sport, and I liked its ease of use so I upgraded when it was time for a new one. I really like the versatility of the Adventurer. Not only do I use it for swim, bike, and run, but it’s features for hiking are amazing. The ability to find your way back to the start point in the woods has been very useful. Finding a satellite in densely covered woods has been great.

### 5/5 — Update software

*2018-09-17, version 10.0.2*

They need to update the software, as any normal person I update my apps often, I updated my app and little did I know that it won’t fix anything but make the app worthless since it won’t connect with my watch. I contacted customer support but they told me surely the update will come soon but a months later not even a small update has been pushed. Normally I would give this app a 5 stars but the whole update just killed my vibe about the app since the main purpose was using with my watch but now I can’t even do that. I might be a little over exaggerated but the app helps a lot with the watch.

**Developer response:** Hi there,

Thanks for updating this review!

- Cameron at TomTom

### 5/5 — Essential training tool

*2018-09-11, version 10.0.2*

I love this app and the watch! They have made my training more effective and I’ve seen faster times and better endurance as a result. The features offered on this one platform allow for me to easily set goals and and monitor my progress from week to week. Highly recommended!
