## What is TonalPath?

Use TonalPath to practise playing by ear and strengthen musical memory through the connection between hearing, knowing, and playing melodic structures.
The exercises are built from melodic shapes rather than notation or isolated interval labels.
They begin with short phrases made from small groups of tones. Later exercises use longer phrases and more complex relationships between tones, leading to chromatic material.
HEAR. KNOW. PLAY.
Hear the melodic structure, know it, and play it back using the built-in fretboard, a connected MIDI keyboard, or optional microphone pitch detection.
FEATURES
• Modal and chromatic exercises that progress from simple to more complex
• Short melodic exercises for playing by ear
• Built-in fretboard with immediate note feedback
• Optional MIDI keyboard input support and experimental microphone pitch detection
• Adjustable tempo and a choice of two instrument sounds
• Progress, repeat, and listen-count tracking
• A free test exercise
TonalPath Pro unlocks the complete curriculum through an optional auto-renewing subscription.
For students, teachers, singers, and instrumentalists, TonalPath offers a structured path toward hearing, knowing, and playing music by ear.
