## What is Tondo?

One painting a day, from the world's great museum collections. Free, with no
advertising and nothing locked away.

Tondo opens on a single artwork — a Rajput elephant, a Mughal bird study, a
Japanese screen, a Dutch harbour — with its title, its maker, and the museum's
own note on what you are looking at. Read it in a minute with your tea, or stay
and look closer. Then it is done until tomorrow.

WHAT IS IN IT
• 2,300 works from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago,
the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Minneapolis Institute of Art
• More than half from outside Europe and North America — Japan, China, India,
Persia and beyond, not the same forty paintings everywhere else shows you
• Every image public domain, every plate high resolution, zoomable to the
  brushwork
• Every day you have seen stays in the archive, and you can keep the ones worth
  returning to

WHAT IS NOT IN IT
• No advertising
• No paywalled archive
• No account needed — sign in only if you want your collection to follow you to
  a new phone
• Nothing between opening the app and the artwork
